Yep - have it, usually lodged in my Nomad.

Wow, then it must be terrifically bad. The game was already massively slowdown prone anyway, but it's even worse on the GameCube? How is that even possible?

Lousy emulation, or worse... Robert Goulet secretly changed the CPU multiplier value when the code went gold...

It had some slowdown, but in the Mega Collection, it's horrifically bad. Seriously, as soon as Sonic appears, slowdown hits. Very weird.

Entirely beside the point, but did anyone else find his constant swearing unbearably unnecessary? I mean, fuck fuck fuck. Maybe the part that really gets me is how halfhearted his swearing is. Maybe if he was expressing real rage, that'd be one thing, but his swearing feels about as authentic as when he throws back a Rolling Rock in the middle of the video.

I don't care for it either, but it kind of grows on you. As he says, it's all for comedic effect anyway.

I think the best ones I watched on his youtube account are the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and the Powerglove episode... watch them in that order.

"The Angry Movie Nerd" or whatever he calls it, is quite funny as well. He reviews the TMNT 3 Movie.
"The Angry Movie Nerd" or whatever he calls it, is quite funny as well. He reviews the TMNT 3 Movie.
Yeah, the commentary on that movie is great. The annoying parts are the inbetween segments where it's just a string of useless profanity. I'm not one to use that kind of language on a regular basis, but well timed, it can be funny. But over indulging to just boring and stupid. Some comics get that; others don't.

And to anyone who says that the first NES Turtles game isn't impossible, I accuse you of lying, being a robot, or being a lying robot.

But he swore so much it ceased being funny a few minutes in! It got old...

The premise is really funny, though. If he'd cut some of the crap, they;d be better... I loved the Bible Games one, and the Friday the 13th, like you mentioned.

TMNT did look pretty bad on there... I don't remember it being like that! I'm starting to wonder if it was a different one I played... but the graphics and music looked really familiar.

You're wondering who I am -- machine or mannequin. With parts made in Japan, I am the modern man.

And thank you very much.

I still have that game and really remember getting all the way to the end to get killed by Shredder almost every time. I do recall beating it once and getting a SUPER crappy ending. It was one of the hardest games I have ever played, but have some of the best video game memories ever with it.

I'm definately interested in seeing how my video game skills have progressed or worsened since my younger days. I will download this one immediately.

id much prefer zelda ii over tmnt. but it seems likely that tmnt would come out with the movie coming out this week. tmnt is one of the most frustrating memories for me in my nes childhood.
Since we have Splatterhouse confirmed, I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume Excitebike and/or Zelda II will come out this Monday. TMNT...is this the Arcade version, the same one on XBL? Or is it the REALLY friggin impossible one?
Splatterhouse is confirmed? I guess we'll find out in a little bit. Unless they release Turtles in Time, it looks like I can save some money on VC again this week, yay.

Saved 800 points for today. Hoping for something great.

And isn't the web broswer supposed to reach the official release in March? Does anyone know when that's happening?

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. The full version comes out on March, 30th. And ends sometime in June.

Ninja Gaiden and Yoshi (Mario & Yoshi--Puzzle game with filling eggs with enemies, Tetris-esque) got rated in Australia.

Ninja Gaiden will be a purchase for me. It's brutally hard, but still somehow fun. :)
I'm debating waiting to see if they decide to put out the collections (i.e. Mario All-Stars, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy) before biting on some of these. It will be a while, for sure, and generally unlikely (why give people 3 games for $8 when you can charge them $5 each?), but we'll see.

As long as you always had the option to go to the original, I might jump on that if they offer it.

Pbhbt. Nintendo is going to release, say, Ninja Gaidens 1 and 2, but refuse to release the third one. It's going to be some George Lucas shit - "We lost the ROM in a fire, and NO ONE ELSE HAS THE CARTRIDGE for this game, as we have looked."

Then they'll release the trilogy pack.

And after that, they'll release 3.

Lame.

Ryu will no longer carry a sword. He won't even be the main character!

Instead you will control a Mii armed with a baseball bat and/or tennis racquet - your choice - who will dance madly through the levels.

Beyond Oasis is AWESOME... it is a very awesome Zelda clone made by Sega, it's never been on a compliation, and I'm fucking stoked Sega finally threw us something great.

It's one of my favorite Genesis games... if you like Zelda, chances are you will love Beyond Oasis, it has a very fluid animation style as well and is just an overall awesome game.

I'm glad I saved some points up just in case this Monday was awesome... this Monday is very very awesome, imo.

The me will gets it ovar mah lunch break. I've had some 2200 points sitting around, and they totally eat all the food in my fridge and won't hang towels up after they use them.

Im so confused. :[

Crap, the fanboy in me wants to get Splatterhouse so Namco can get a fucking clue, but I don't feel like dropping 10 bucks for this.

Does Rick have the red mask in this one? If so, bleh. We're getting the neutered version.
Short summary and a screen shot:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_Oasis

The game's art style is just really fucking good, and it's worth a buy if you love Zelda and 2-D games in general. This is one of my favorite and a very under rated and forgotten about gem that Sega did.

Everything you want to know about Beyond Oasis.
One week when my parents went to Vegas when I was like.. 8, I locked myself in my moms room due to my brother smoking pot/crack/crank/methamphetamines and drinking alcohol in our room....... and that game was all I played on my nomad hooked to the TV. awesome game as I remember... if I remember any at all.

Holy crap, I actually remember playing Beyond Oasis.

It made me envy the Genesis for a little while as I was a total SNES freak then.

It definitely had some awesome puzzles too that made you think... it's just an overall great game.

What a surprise!!! Sega finally stopped giving us rehashed shit!

Apparently Excitebike is on the channel under NES games but not new releases. But where the bloody hell is Ninja Turtles???

The screenshot from the Beyond Oasis endings shows the total playtime to be 4 hours and something.. Short game? Or would a newbie take longer than that?

I remember it being fairly long the first time through. Probably a speed run or something.

The game has 6 dungeons IIRC, and lots of secrets and other shit.

So Excite Bike us up then?
I don't have my Wii hooked up right now so I can't check.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but where did anyone even get the idea that Turtles was coming out, let alone coming out today? Seems to me like it was something someone here mentioned in passing as a possibility witht he movie release, but somehow got interpreted as fact....

You know what, Nintendo?

It would be awesome if you let us save the tracks in Excitebike's edit mode.

It would be earth shattering if you let us exchange them.

I know this will not happen, but my wandr'ng mind still wanders.
Bravo Nintendo, release it after the movie has already come out!
Eh, could be Konami/Ubi's call, depending on who really calls the shots on 3rd party VC releases. Get everyone to buy TMNT on XBLA this week, get everyone to buy TMNT on VC next week. Won't necessarily work, but I could see that being a decision.
