Super Mario Brothers 2 and Mother or gtfo Nintendo.
I think it's already been confirmed we're getting The Lost Levels eventually... it's already been released in the US.

Also, Europe is rumored to get The Adventures of Lolo for NES, which means we'll get it too.

Ninja Gaiden was already released in Japan too.

Apart from the lack of Mike Tyson is Punchout worth getting, never had a NES and I've heard a lot about this game so I'm thinking of picking it up.

Yea, I know, but I'm letting Gizmo know so he can put it in the OP... right now, it's only been rumored for Europe, but it's a given if Europe gets it we'll get it too.

It's probably the most fun game on the NES, as far as instant satisfaction goes.
And has tons of replay value.

It's one of those very rare games that doesn't feel dated, it's still very smooth.

Thanks Dallow, think I'll drop 500 points on it, I'm starting to think the NES games are about the best thing on the VC, I play Kirby much more than the SNES and N64 games I've downloaded.

I love punch out

What about this bonk's revenge game. Worth getting? I heard those were some of the best TG16 games, but I've never seen them.

Please post your impressions on it here, I'm curious to know what you think of it.

I hope the release Super Punch Out from the SNES as well.
Though the NES version felt more natural.

Also the music is great on it! Especially during the training cutscene.
Man, I want to play it right now. Where's that Java NES emulator...

Is there a good TG 16 emulator out there?

I want to try some of these before I drop 600 points a piece I can never get back.

Magic Engine

There's a trial version, in which you can play for 5 minutes before the game locks up. The author tells you how to circumvent this though (save/load resets the timer).

fuck yeah, Punch Out, now I need more points damit. Although Mike Tyson is not in this version I will still download it, because I never played Punch Out (although I would of liked to defeat Mike Tyson instead of some fictional Mr. Dream). Either way pretty good week.

I just downloaded Splatterhouse over the weekend and it was really great to play that again.

I will be downloading Punch-Out and Bonk's Revenge when I get home.
Punch-out rules with or without Mike Tyson!

Oooh im loving how people are saying they need more points

If you need more points.
PLEASE--CHECK OUT THE SIG :)

...and I too may buy Bonk's Revenge/Punch Out .. since I have 9100 points lol

I did, but I really don't like giving out my address on those sign up sites.
I don't know, I just can't see how a $10.00/$8.00 dollar VC game would eat into sales of Super Paper Mario. I think it'd boost sales more than anything. People right now are hungry for games for the Wii, any game that is realtively decent will be gobbled up regardless... we're pretty desperate at the moment.
This of it this way. Paper Mario / Mario RPG are both pretty long games themselves, probably a good 15 - 20 hours each, and that's if you know what you're doing. New Gamers may download these games for 10 dollars, and be satisfied for the next month, and decide to just skip the full priced game, in lieu of two equally good (if not better) games for 8-10 dollars each.

However, people are buying the Wii for games that will fully utilize the Wii, so I'd believe a new gamer would feel a lot better in many regards buying a physical copy of a new game at store that is designed to use every aspect of the system they worked so hard to get. If anything, VC sales would suffer, not the other way around. I know if I had the choice I'd go for the game to use my Wii to the fullest, if I could only choose one.

Using your argument, we'll never see an RPG on the VC at all since someone could just download that and be happy for a month.

Why would a new Wii gamer want to get Twilight Princess when they could just download three other Zelda's? Why get Mario Galaxy when they could get Mario 1, Super Mario World, or Mario 64? Because they want new experiences that uses every aspect of their new system.

I'm not saying we won't ever get an RPG on the VC, just that the popular ones aren't likely going to come out until there is a period with a long drought between games. Your argument isn't really apt, because comparing the previous Marios to Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy, and comparing any Pre-Ocarina of Time Zelda to Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess, is really comparing apples to oranges. Arguably, Paper Mario and to a lesser extent Mario RPG, are much more similar to Super Paper Mario then Super Mario Brothers is to Mario Galaxy. The same argument works in regards to Mario Party. Nintendo would be nuts to release any of the Mario Party Games within a month of the Wii Mario Party game. People would just buy the previous incarnation and opt to skip out on the Wii game.

and while yes, people do like Wii games that fully utilize the Wii, I think for the vast majority of gamers, which doesn't include those of hardcore fanatics, Price, and Satisfaction, are much greater factors in deciding what game to purchase, then whether or not you can control the game witht he Wii Remote.

Punch Out is $5 well spent. Still a great game.

I guess it's been at least 10 years since I last played it but I picked it up again in no time. Until I got to bloody Great Tiger. I couldn't remember if I needed to block or counter his special...by the time I worked it out it was too late and I'd suffered my first defeat.

It's a pity that there's no Tyson but it's really not that big a deal - he made up only a tiny part of the game.

Having said that, I never did beat him so it would have been nice to make a come back in my old age (a la Rocky) and put him on his ass.
I'm sure they could do 32X emulation, and the roms for it aren't very big either. 32X VF1 was actually pretty decent too.
I played that. It was pretty good.
Well, to see 3D graphics like that on a cart at that time.

Such a pain to get the 32x add on to work on that Genesis though.

Bought Bonk as I love platforming titles. Never played Punch Out (really!) and no interest in Virtua Fighter at all.

STILL no Zelda II, WTF!

Gonna have to get some points soon for Punch-Out!!, though I already have it for my NES.

I actually had the Mr. Dream version. I never had the Tyson version for my NES.

Looking to burn some GS credit on a points card, but it's a pain in the motherfuckin' ass to find a store who has them. :/

I want to beat up fools with lil' mac!

Nice lineup for this week. I bought Punch-Out!! this week, I'd consider Bonk's Revenge, but I'll probably wait a couple of weeks before buying that.

I will pass on VF2 and Punch-Out, but before I lose my ability to connect the Wii to the net for a while (thanks University housing), I will be downloading Gradius III, Zelda:OoT and Starfox 64. I just need another 1000 points.
A mildy drunk Dallow commands all of you to buy Punch-Out!
Been fighting with that evil Vodka Drunkenski eh?
I'm just waiting for my free Wii card to get here, I wish they would just e-mail the code like I requested.
I spoke to soon, they just sent me an e-mail with my code.

I picked up Kirby Adventure and Punch-Out!

Grabbed Punchout this week on the reccomendation of many people, never played it before as I've never owned a NES.

Only played it for about 30 mins but I can see why people like it so much, it's a really fun game. Easy to pick up but still provides a challange. Well worth 500 points IMO.

Soda Popinski's taunting laugh haunts my childhood.

grabbed punch-out, that game still rules! I was able to make it to soda-pop..that pink bastard. I forgot that there are the codes to "warP' to higher events....makes it nice to not have to fight 6 or 7 people to get back to him!

Grabbed starfox 64 and splatterhouse(for the hell of it). Starfox is an amazing game, i've never played it before and it's clearly as good as i've been told.

Now....release super punchout please!

You are the only person that has picked up a game on the VC for purposes other than nostalgia and actually like said game.
downloaded punchout. I never played it in my childhood but it's wicked awesome!

now all is left is Chrono Trigger and I'm set.
Although I as well would love Chrono Trigger I believe Square said that it won't show up on the VC due to some bs excuse they pulled out of their asses. :bomb:
