The WWE Wrestlemania 25 Thread
Was that Styles and Mathews calling that match? Now that's an announce team I could listen to.
No sir that was Striker.

GuilewasNK the reason why I said that Swagger is wack because he is decent but he isn't anywhere close to championship material. That is probably why he is going to lose to Christian at Backlash.

I realize that I never have to watch Superstars again.

First Match: Undertaker vs. Matt Hardy
Second Match: Christian vs. Finlay
Third Match: Shane O' Mac vs. Cody Rhodes

Out of three matches only one ended clean with a count out and DQ. This doesn't make sense but why did I think a hour show would be any different then the 2 hour ones.
Striker and Mathews?
You are correct because Grisham went to Smackdown to replace Tazz.

Impact is going decently with the Sabin vs. Nito vs. Homicide match.

Damn, am I the only one that's into Swagger? That guys getting heat from everybody and I just don't see why. That match he had with Christian on ECW a month or two back was better than half the shit WWE craps out on their PPVs.
You are correct because Grisham went to Smackdown to replace Tazz.

I was hoping it would be Striker but Grisham has put in years with WWE so that's not really a surprise.
I firmly believe that Jack Swagger is the best newcomer in the WWE right now.
Sorry. That would be Tyson Kidd.

I wouldn't wish announcing Smackdown on Striker, I imagine the announcers on ECW don't get the earful that Vince gives to the Raw/Smackdown teams. Probably also one of the reasons they are that much better than either set.

I was very impressed with Swagger on RAW. (Hadn't seen him before that.)

Yeah, he and Cena had a pretty good match. Only the botchy Rock style DDT spot took away from it, but they covered fairly well. I can't remember a week where there's been so many 10-20 minute matches on free TV.
Taz is headed to TNA.
I wonder how they'll misuse him. :whistle2:k

-

I caught a bit of Impact, last night, and the Foley / Sting angle kind of interested me.

I kind of marked out when I saw Little Spike Dudley and Balls Mahoney.
I know that's been rumored, but has it been confirmed yet?
Well, they announced "another world champion signing" in addition to the one they announced a few days ago, and Taz's statement more or less confirmed it without saying it.

Does TNA even have its own people any more?

LOL @ "biggest win of Shelton's career if he can beat the Undertaker". Didn't he beat Trips 3 weeks in a row a few years back? I guess that's not big enough.

The whole Orton/HHH thing is ridiculous. HHH is finally going to "finish it" on Monday. He should have done that at Wrestlemania. Orton only beat the shit out of his wife. Mania would have been the best time to do it, but I guess that makes way too much sense.

So...that Draft show didn't really separate the rosters, huh?

What's with the Crayola post?

If we get a Tazmission on Don West I will be pleased. He definitely won't be wrestling. Even if his neck is healthy enough his rolypoly gut isn't. Current Taz in a singlet?:whistle2:&
What's with the Crayola post?
Come on.. Red is Raw, Blue is SmackDown, Purple is ECW. He was showing what brand was on what show.

Do we even know what Taz looks like under the suit? Seriously he's always been a short wide dude, but is he really "fat" now? Or are we just making vast assumptions again?

I'm hoping the Brand craziness is only because the Draft just occurred and that come Backlash all the brands will be locked in place, save the Tag Team Champs.

I wish we were back in the hey day of the draft where each brand had it's own showcase division. It would be cool if the Tag Titles were Smackdown! exclusive.

Yeah, also, the ECW title should be Extreme Rules, always. Just so it doesnt come off as as a 2nd tier world championship. Even Striker had to say "no disrespect to the ECW Championship" when mentioning something about Punk/MITB I believe.

I don't mind some traveling between shows. The tag titles and whatever the PPV main event is going to be. But only if the World and WWE Championships are reunited. 1 champion for all shows. It feels very hollow having two world champions who never face off against eachother.

I sprung for the Smackdown DLC.

As happy as I am that they're actually putting out DLC packs, this one feels kinda half-assed. 'Quake looks like ass in a "well, it sorta looks like him" way, but at least he's got his finisher. Including music and an entrance video for Vader is nice, and I understand why they didn't do videos for the others (they never really had them), but there's no excuse to not have Earthquake, Doink, or The Bushwhackers music when they're WWE productions.

Kinda fun though to play as the classic guys though. Vader having two finishers from the front grapple is kind of lame, espescially when one is a chokeslam that I don't really recall him using and when he doesn't have either the corner splash or a moonsault.
Come on.. Red is Raw, Blue is SmackDown, Purple is ECW. He was showing what brand was on what show.
Didn't follow the draft, didn't know the breakdown. Relax.
Do we even know what Taz looks like under the suit? Seriously he's always been a short wide dude, but is he really "fat" now? Or are we just making vast assumptions again?
No assumptions made. Taz has definitely gained weight, even compared to his WWE wrestling days. It doesn't take much weight gain to get rounded out for someone with his build.

Taz was looking a bit round when he "wrestled" Lawler at One Night Stand a few years back. He certainly hasn't slimmed down since then.

Royal Rumble tickets went on sale today for Atlanta. I checked the prices just to see what they are--5th row floor seats, $323 each.

In for 10 thanks neo. ;)

Daniels' new gear looked fine to me - not great or anything, but not horrid. The new music though is terrible. It's nowhere near as cool as his last Fallen Angel theme, or even the "Disposable Teens" knock-off. The six-man tag was good, and the Cactus emasculating Mick Foley promo. I didn't like it as much as WWE revealing that Cactus Jack would face HHH at the '00 Rumble though, but it was still pretty good, even if it didn't make me want to see Cactus face Sting anymore than I wanted to see it last week. I was left wanting to see Lethal Lockdown more thanks to Daniels and see 3D get their revenge on Beer Money for destroying their hardcore brethren though, so it kind of balances out.

Quotes -
(to Deaner, after volunteering to face Abyss)ODB - Are you high off that chewing tobacco?
Cornette - Apparently…
Deaner - I CAN SCUFFLE!
Cornette - I feel like Oliver Wendal Douglas on the set of Green Acres…
Jarrett - I knew when I started TNA, I had to put on my business cap and take care of business first.
Tenay - ABYSS AND DAFFNEY IS A TEAM MADE IN DR. STEVIE’S OFFICE!
Tenay - UP NEXT ON IMPACT - MICK FOLEY INTERVIEWS CACTUS JACK!
Foley - Play me a little… CURRY MAN!
Tenay - What the HELL’S going on here!?
DW - This Dude’s lost his mind and I’m LOVING it!
Tenay - This isn’t just bizarre - it’s a train wreck!
DW - BUT YOU’RE GLUED TO IT!
Foley - I can do any damn thing I want, and at Lockdown, I’M GONNA TEAR YOU APART!

Although he isn't perfect, I love using Vader in '09. He's used the chokeslam before, but I gave him the sick "land right on neck" one, which fits his stiff style better.

Daniels was on Impact?

"Firing" him was absolutely asinine.

Dixie Carter reeks.

For the longest time I thought the chick from Designing Women owned TNA. (far right)

If you are 8 years old or have 8 or fewer teeth, you will get your $30 worth of PPV tonight.

If you are older or have more teeth, then no.

News from TNAWrestlingNews.com:

Steve Gerweck is reporting that TNA stars Matt Morgan, Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde were all involved in a car accident early Saturday morning in Philadelphia, PA. Morgan was in the driver's seat while Kong was in the passenger front and Wilde was in the back when their SUV was rear ended by a vehicle traveling at 40-50 mph during a left turn.

Morgan and Kong reportedly hit their heads on the windshield during the collision and were later checked out by medical personnel. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

TNAWrestlingNews.com can confirm that all three are expected to wrestle at the Lockdown PPV tonight.

Hay guyz, let's get this thread over so we can have a proper Lockdown thread. C'mon, we can do it!!
News from TNAWrestlingNews.com:
But...but...but Kong and Wilde have a match tonight. Why would they be traveling together? Wilde is going to turn and join Kongtourage, I just knoiw it.
Daniels is wrestling two matches tonight?
Kaz is probably back under the mask at this point.

At least it has a decent chance of looking good. After all, it's the first PPV after WM.
It can't be any WORSE than HHH/Orton at Mania was... or can it?
HHH/Orton wasn't bad in terms of skill. It just wasn't enjoyable to watch, it had no development or flow to it, and made no sense whatsoever given the buildup.

Sting/Foley, OTOH, is a match b/w two wrestlers whose primes were 10-15 years ago. It simply won't be good physically. The ability to perform moves wasn't the problem with Orton/HHH, whereas it will be here.
News from TNAWrestlingNews.com:
I'm just glad they were all wearing their seatbelt. Too many people don't.

So that ROH PPV that was on Friday doesn't count?
It can't be any WORSE than HHH/Orton at Mania was... or can it?
It probably will be. Sting and Foley are too old and broken down to go.
