Third Annual CAG NCAA March Madness Tourney Contest (Winning Scenarios In Post #203)

Alright, I booted two of the brackets, Shormen and CAGBrack, since I don't know who they belong to. Feel free to rejoin before the first tipoff if you can clarify who you are on CAG.

One hour left. Get those final entries in ASAP!
plz dont kick mine... its named The Grateful Red, which quite suitably puts wisconsin goin far
I know. I saw your earlier post.

To everybody: If I didn't mention your bracket being booted, it's fine.
I JUST saw this, do you mind if I try my luck?
Sure you can, if you can get it in before Yahoo stops allowing new brackets to be created. Just make sure to include your CAG name in the bracket name so I know it's your bracket.

Off topic, but I just scored 2 tix to Rupp Arena tonight for 130. They are Lower Arena and the games I will get to see are C. Conn St. Vs Ohio St. and Xavier Vs. BYU. Woohoo!

It looks like you didn't kick me but I would just like to point out that mine is Ty's bracket, and is made by susanwalsh49
I don't see a bracket under that name. Did you make sure you attached it to a group?

http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men

Does it list the CAG March Madness group under your bracket in that link?
also, theres another CAG pool floating around. Its the free one that has no prizes, perhaps u entered that one and are now talking on this ones topic?

I just noticed that. The one over here seems to be the one tyecko joined, so if you want to join this one, you'll need to hurry and create a new one to submit.

Either way, tipoff is nearly here!
Anybody pick Stanford? You may have your first loss of the day if this 25 point lead sticks.
haha yep... i had them losing the next round anyways though

WOOOO I lost already

Picked bobby knights team. Lost
Picked STanford LOST

I guess it could been worse, Maryland finally won and i had them gonig all the way to the final 4 that would been bad if they lost lol

they wont get to the final four i dont believe..sweet 16 maybe

I'm 3 for 3 on finished games, and other than the Butler-Old Dominion game, the other games are just about locked up for me. GO BUTLER!
damn I thought oral roberts would upset WSU, another miss for me.
And so did a ton of other people. I made sure that I completely ignored what all the so called "experts" were saying about teams like Oral Roberts, Old Dominion, Winthrop, and others, and made my predictions on my own based on the teams' stats and schedules.
damn I thought oral roberts would upset WSU, another miss for me.
Hah, following Pac-10 hoops all year I knew WSU was pretty good (and despite how much I detest them I picked them to go pretty far - fucking Taylor Rochestie sounds like some two-bit porn star name).

I also knew Stanford was NOT that good and picked against them.

So far only Bobby Knight has screwed me over. The rat bastard - knew I should have picked against him. When are him and Lute Olsen going to retire so I don't have to look at them any more? Huh?

Anyways, glad I entered the pool as it is the only thing that will keep my interest with all these detestable teams in the tourney this year ;).

Maybe you can tell my favorite team isn't anywhere close to being in this year?

Edit - Looks like GW is going to screw me over too. So much for that upset pick.

my mistake i had Maryland going to the final 8 (getting beat by wisconsin)

best of luck to all that are still in the running im totally out of it now i think

what is going to kill me is i had george washington going to the elite 16 losing to georgetown... i think i got this team mixxed up with george mason (or whatever that team that made it to the final 4 last year)

i forgot to fill out my brackets till 1130am and just picked them quickly)

my final 8

maryland vs wisconsin (wis wins)
kansas vs ucla (ucla wins)

UCLA wins over Wis (makes it to final)

north carolina vs georgtown (g.town wins)
Ohio st vs texas am (ohio state wins)

Ohio state beats Gtown

Ohio state beats ucla in title match

as many picked the same teams in the final 4 I be lucky to end 50th

No you aren't, have you seen how yahoo scores it? The later rounds are worth more a lot more points than the first round, so even if you're down by a bunch after the first round, you can easily make it up later by just getting an extra game here and there. If someone gets the winner of the tournament right, it almost guarantees that they'll win.

Also, thanks to frisky and everyone who donated prizes.

yes you get more pts in the later rounds but in the later rounds almost everyone picks the same teams so it doesnt really matter

if your wrong on the early rounds and everyone picks the same final 4 you still lsoe

18 people have the first 8 picked perfectly. I guess that will happen when the favorite wins every game. :)

I missed on the TT - BC game which I'd guess was a trendy upset pick. (Although a 10-7 ain't really much of an upset.)

im the only person thats 12 for 12 right now, everyone else is 11 for 12 or less:applause:

assuming pitt wins i would have a perfect first day :D

Good job lostpirate.

And here I was thinking that Duke screwed me over. But I just looked at my brackets and I actually picked VCU in that game! Who knew?

However, my complete hosing of the East bracket has put me down in the 11/16 group (near the bottom). I picked Marquette, GW, and Texas Tech there. And in the other brackets I missed Gonzaga and BYU (they both lost). Damn Gonzaga and their damn NW hype-machine...
Stupid GT couldn't get a damn rebound in the last 2 mins :( They really could have won that game. Now I've lost 2 Sweet 16 teams.
That was painful. I had them getting bounced next round, but I thought they could pull it out.

my sconie boys better start to turn it up in the second halF!!! Christ, far to many missed open looks. Like 0/12 at 3s??

This is absurd... my spring break sucks already.

I'm screwed from the get go. I'm not quite sure what the hell I was thinking when I picked my bracket. D'oh.
5 words describe my bracket: crap on a crap cracker
Me too. I only missed Duke yesterday, but today I missed Winthrop, UNLV, and Tennessee.
Nice. I've been perfect all day so far, though Arizona and Virginia Tech may screw me over.
VT isn't looking good right now.
