I'm pretty positive whoever told you AMC meant TCM, cuz it's been on that a lot in the past month.
The crappy 1970's remake has been on AMC, the original has been playing on TCM.

I don't know if anime movies would count but I just finished seeing Hajime No Ippo: Champion Road - I love this series, I seriously cannot get enough of the characters, story, and humor. The one thing that always pulled me into this series was how fresh the story kept, and how every character is fleshed out. Even the opponents of the main character had a backstory to them and sometimes I felt like rooting for them. The movie is just like one long episode and its great and all but it would have been nice to include more then one fight. Of course I love the movie and here's hoping that Geneon, the US company that is releasing Hajime no Ippo under the name Fighting spirit, releases a second season and a new movie to this already great series.

Little Dieter Needs to Fly

Such an amazing story of survival, Herzog sure knows how to pick great people for his docs. And now I really can't wait for Rescue Dawn.

Hotel Rwanda: I watched it last night, a good story, and I like how they included a message about the genocide going on in Darfur, Sudan right now, because it hasnt been in the news at all, so very few people actually know about it.

Sin City: I finally got around to seeing it, and I really enjoyed it, I think the black and white worked really well in it

Godfather part II

longest movie I've ever made it through, because it was actually worth watching *spits on lord of the (bo)rings*

Sin City: Recut - An amazing movie, even with the stories seperated, which makes it a little easier to digest the story. I also watched the extras about the special effects and whatnot and it makes the movie an even greater technical feat than from just seeing the movie. It's very interesting to see how all of the dramatic shadows and bright colors and such were done, some with red tape/paint and blue lights and some just with the regular green screen and the right lighting.

Magnolia

Bold, grand, sweeping, any flaws in the movie are steamrolled over by its ambition, and especially by how much of that ambition actually works; it's some kind of a loony, beautiful masterpiece. And I have to mention the cast, giving so many absolutely wonderful performances.
High Tension.

Its like one part Psycho and one part Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Go rent it!
Great movie, but the ending almost ruins it.

Fantastic 4 - yep pretty meh, I should have expect that.
40-year-old version - Decent, probably would have been much funnier to watch in the theatre or in a group.

got a ton of dvds for christmas, heres what i was able to watch so far...
caddyshack
spies like us
who's harry crumb
da ali g show (season1 and 2)
the frighteners sp. ed.
seven
dirty work
aqua teen vol.4

and i still have a pile of unopened ones..

Godzilla: Final Wars - bad even by Godzilla standards, the director and or writer forgot who had top billing, not cocky DMC Dante-wannabe alien duded, but the big green dude with the bad breath and the ill temper.

Exorcism of Emily Rose - a little slow moving, but quite good. Further proof marketing execs can't handle anything that isn't easily placed into a single category.

Owl man youre killin me! EoER is excellent btw.

Forbidden Planet - arguably Leslie Neilsons greatest movie.

Forbidden Planet - arguably the best Science Fiction movie ever made.

DUNE - the second best Science Fiction movie ever filmed, if you can leave your stack of Frank herbert novels at home and appreciate the David Lynch style

40 Year old version with commentary

Exorcism of Emily Rose with Commentary - good listen, lots of good info

Wedding Crashers - Decent, looks like the run time needed to be cut down a bit, fills a bit long at over 2 hours.

Dancer in the Dark

Undeniably powerful, it creates a whirlwind of emotions, not to mention adjectives to describe it, but it's definitely something special. It'd be far too difficult for me to just briefly sum up my thoughts on the film, so I'll just say that it should be seen. And Bjork was wonderful.

A Short Film About Killing

Kieslowski does a great feature length update to his Decalogue segment about killing, again showing why he was a master.

Wedding Crashers Unrated version - one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. I even think it tops my funniest movie of 2005, which is dodgeball

Same here....I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty funny.

How was SFLV?

Tricky Brains....even though its old I never watched it before. Stephen Chow is hilarious in this film.
