To Kill a Last Movie You Ever Saw

How the Grinch Stole Christmas; the live-action one. Better than I remember, but it still rages me how Carrey shoves his jaw off to the right whilst he talks.

The best part was the nod to Bob Barker- 'It's a new car!'

Akira - Very good movie. Now I see what everyone liked about it what? 10 years ago?

Fun With Dick and Jane - Good movie, as I enjoyed it.
James Bond: You Only Live Twice

I have a big movie poster for this movie. It's a good 'un.
That's one of the few Bond movies I still need to see.

I finished watching Serenity for the sixth time (3 times in theaters, 3 times on DVD) about an hour ago. It's a great film.
Right now I'm watching my favorite holiday film, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Tom Yum Goong

Another martial arts fest w/ Tony Jaa (main actor in Thai movie Ong Bak)

Action: 12/10
Acting: 2/10
Story: 4/10
Production Values: 7/10

There is no reason to watch this other than the amazing action/fight sequences. The story was not even lukewarm. It's hella cold. And Tony Jaa needs more acting lessons. He only has 2 facial expressions throughout the movie - stoic or sneering. The dialogue is... ah, screw it, it's just horrible. Someone get this man a proper screenwriter, stat! I think he can be decent, he just needs a better story to work with. He reminds me of early Jackie Chan in his Police Story days. I think I can see him in bigger mindless summer blockbuster hits.

Watched a bunch of Christmas specials on Saturday:

A Flintstone Christmas
Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales
Christmas Comes to Pac-Land
Frosty's Winter Wonderland
The Smurfs Christmas Special
'Tis the Season to Be Smurfy
Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Caper

They were all just typical Christmas specials, not much more. The Flintstones special was probably the best of the bunch.

Also watched A Clockwork Orange last night for the first time, very good movie. I was a little confused at the ending by what Fred was alluding to as the new job Alex would have.

Last movie for me as well. The action scenes are beyond awesome. Have to agree the story (at least it is unique though) and acting are not so good though. If you like martial arts movies, definitely check it out.

The Thin Red Line

Perhaps a flawed masterpiece, but a masterpiece nonetheless. Hypnotic, cerebral, filled with moments of stunning beauty, very challenging, but also very rewarding.

King Kong

1933 version. Great film; despite some pacing problems in the middle, the rest of it is quite marvelous, and the effects are still amazing in their own special way.

Just got back from seeing Rumor Has It. I give it a 7/10. Pretty good romantic comedy, and Jennifer Aniston was good in it, but overall it was lacking in some spots. Worth seeing but I won't be buying it on DVD.

War of the Worlds

2005 version. A thrillingly visceral, intense, apocalyptic nightmare of a film. Spielberg sure knows how to make a movie like this, and he turns in a very solid film.

Well I guess we'll agree to disagree

2046 .. loved it. Amazing visuals. Aside from that, Serenity yet again and the amazingly horrid Band Camp. Levy can be such a funny guy to get stuck in some of the roles he does...

Kicking and Screaming - some funny parts
Samurai Spy
The Road Home - really good movie + Zhang Ziyi is in it
Ghost World
Sands of Iwo Jima
Dukes of Hazzard - some funny parts

PJ's King Kong - I loved it. The special fx were great, as is expected from PJ's fx team. Jack Black did a surprisingly great job in his role, like the rest of the cast.

King Kong. Don't go to the theater very often, but glad I made it out for this one. A ton of really awesome sequences. I was actually brushing at my shirt during one buggy scene. (My gf was making fun of me about that on the ride home  )

I've never seen the original, but I'd like to watch it now. I'm kind of surprised some cable channel hasn't aired it recently. (Or have they and I just don't know about it?)

Check AMC. I heard they've been playing it recently in light of the remake. I need to check it out, as well.

My aunt watches AMC here and there, they've been playing it non-stop. The one with Faye Ray and the one prior.

It was also recently release on dvd in a 2-disc set loaded with special features. It holds up fairly well, but some areas of the film seem to scream "lookie, lookie, were showing off with are mad Stop Motion Animation Skillz" and it has a bit of a slower pace.

Currently watching Galaxy Quest.

Friday - awsome as fuck
next friday - weakest of the trilogy
orgazmo - hilarious
and I'm also watching simpsons season 3

next up is friday after next so I can complete the trilogy

Donnie Darko

I always get this weird feeling everytime I watch it for some reason. Its like it puts a weird sadistic/happy smile on my face. The music might help with that as well.

Looks like AMC isn't running King Kong again any time in the next 30 days (Did a search on their site.) I'll have to keep my eye on it to see if it pops back into their rotation.

I'm pretty positive whoever told you AMC meant TCM, cuz it's been on that a lot in the past month.

Grizzly Man

Wow. An absolutely amazing film, haunting, wonderful, an incredible look at the life of one strange, intriguing man. One of the best documentaries I've seen, and probably the best film of 2005.
