12 Monkeys

Amazing movie. Terry Gilliam did a great job with it. Brad Pitt was brilliant and Bruce Willis wasn't to shaby. The story is amazing and kind of pokes at your dark sidistic side. It is almost like you will have a pyschotic break drown because of it.

Cinderella Man - damn good movie, great plot, another great role for russell crowe, the boxing scenes were intense especially the final match

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia

Hypnotically watchable, violent, intense, and strangely wonderful. A Peckinpah masterpiece.

Just saw Chronicles of Narnia: LWW tonight. Fantastic movie, the most faithful book-to-film adaptation I've ever seen. If you loved the books, you'll love this movie.
Masters of Horror Episode 6

I'd consider it a movie anyway.
They getting any better? First one was decent, next four were pretty meh.

Unleashed, pretty good, amazing fights and good story.

Sky High - Fairly entertaining, and it's always nice to see two Kids in the Hall working together again.

Honestly, the series seems pretty much hit or miss. I loved episodes 1, 2 and 4.. but then the other three have completely blown for me. Tobe Hooper (original Texas Chainsaw Massacre) was who's work I was looking forward to the most, but man did it suck.

I really wish Romero had done something for the series, it's disappointing that he wasn't able to take part. Still got Miike to look forward to, though.

Masters of Horror episode 6 and 7, finally, after 4 straight hours of mediocre episodes a couple of decent ones.
Episode 6 is a bit of a (heavy handed) political spoof of the current administration (with zombies) but extra points for trying something different.
Episode 7 which had both gore and a fair amount of humor sprinkled throughout, the cop repeatedly reimagining how a particular murder took place had me in stitches  and several of the lines were quoteworthy material.

So, thus far 3/7 of the episodes are above mediocre, series is flunking so far.

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. Good shit!

Up next: Naked. movies about misanthropes are always a hoot.

Sword in the Stone - My second favorite Disney animated movie of all time
Because everyone knows that nothing can top Dumbo :D
and I haven't seen this in a long time, so I loved it once again. I've never heard of a dvd version so I may burn this so I can watch it until that day arrives.
40 year old virgin - why does everyone think this movie is hilarious? The first 10 minutes of the movie was kind of funny but then it started to get kind of stupid towards the middle and by the end I just fell asleep. Don't get me wrong I think steve carrell is hilarious but he can't carry a movie. I think he should just stick to co-starring roles like in anchorman where he was hilarious.

Sin City - one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Was execting at least a good movie with a bunch of big name stars instead I get boring crap that everyone loves for some reason.

If one were unknowing expecting it to be a mindless action flick, as opposed to a neo-Noir film, I could see why one would be disappointed.

Bad News Bears (2005)

It was a decent way to spend an hour and a half. Billy Bob is pretty funny when he plays a drunk sleazeball (like in this and Bad Santa).

Deuce bigelow (I want my hour and a half back)
Bad news bears remake
Mr show season 2 and 3. I was excepting to get oz but netflix can be a bitch sometimes.

The Devil's Rejects

Not really a bad movie. Rob Zombie is one fucked up individual but he done a great job and I loved the way he filmed. The ending was great and the soundtracked kicked ass.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Pretty good flick, and a fine adaptation, although the film struggles near the end.

Robin Hood - Best of disney's films and it still holds up well.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Good, but Willy Wonka is still the better movie. Johnny Depp still did a great job.

King Kong

So basically it's a King Kong movie with Peter Jackson's vision. Like a Peter Jackson movie it was long at over 3 hours. The movie was amazing though and keep me on my toes through out and there was always something around every corner. There was everything from comedy, romance, action, adventure, drama, you name it. It was cheesy at times but it was expected of course. From watching the other King Kong's this one offered some other insights. The story was done very well and the underlying themes were great. The cast of course were amazing, every actor was brilliant in their roles and brought something special. Jack Black's performance was astounding though, he took the role and made it amazing. This was such a powerful performance by him.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Like most summer blockbusters, fairly good action but the plot holes abound if you even give it a second thought. Oh well.

Just gonna make a quick list with some minor commentary.

The Chronicles of Narnia; Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe - It was alright, but I didn't really like it. Didn't find very much fantasy or adventure and overall a very boring film (except for the fight at the end). The allusions and allegories to Christian theology really didn't help it out at all either. Don't really feel like being told the story of Jesus, but through a "children's story"...etc. Also, the acting I felt was quite subpar overall and the story very meh. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials, etc. are all much much better fantasy/magic/adventure movies.

How To Get Ahead in Advertising - Thansk to a post by crymnl/modium a while back. Pretty good movie.

Syriana

King Kong - Wow is all I have to say, Simply wow, what a movie. Excellent. This movie almost supercedes Sin City as my number one film of the year, actually you know what, it ties it.

Couldn't agree more.

*Rant*
eh, what can one say. Especially with comedies, tastes vary widely from viewer to viewer. Some people think Anchorman is the very funny movie, I think it is a disjointed piece of shit with a few chuckle worthy moments. Also, if one isn't a fan of overly violent movies I could see how they would not like Sin City.

As such, I find it a bit premature to label anothers film tastes "one of the worst I have seen" with a sample rating of only two films. To pass judgment such as this, I believe one would need to have a collection of ratings from at least 20-30 different films of various genres to form an accurate representation of a viewer's tastes.

Serenity - WOW! Just picked the DVD up at Target a few days early, and again, it blew me away. If you're a Sci Fi fan PICK this up (and the Firefly boxset)

Watch an episode of 'The Office'. Nuff said.

What exactly are your favorite movies then? Give some reasons why you think 40 year old vigin is hilarious and why Sin city is actually a good movie. I'd like to know because according to you I have bad taste in movies even though I said that I hate only two movies. On top of that everyone is going to have different tastes in movies. Just because you like certain types of movies and another person doesn't doesn't necessarily mean they have a bad taste in movies. It just means that they just like different types of movies compared to you. This can be said for pretty much everyone on this forum. Oh and gizmogc I watched the office and I actually laughed my ass off.
