Immense gratitude to Shrike4242 for updating this thing while I was away!!!

This is an odd one.....

Basically the gist is that Toys R Us is reducing its inventory by 20% by marking down over 6,000 skns from it's inventory, most of which are toys. There are however roughly 300 or so video games/accesories that will be a part of this clearance. As of 7/11 all have been marked down from 30-50%. TRU is seeking to aggressively move these skns out of its stores. So if these games have not sold in roughly a months time they will be marked down again...a month later, again.....and so on until it's gone. So if you're the gamblin' type I suppose you could hold out for cheaper prices. Prices seem to be good everywhere, though there may be some variance in prices between stores.

Everything that is a part of this sale is on a 3 week cycle, meaning that every three weeks any items remaining in the stores will receive another price drop. Seeing as how these prices went into effect on the 11th of July we should be seeing them all drop again on the 1st of August.

The only caveat here being that retail is an odd beast that can be subject to change. So basically there is another price drop coming that in all likelihood will happen on the 1st so check back on the than to see what's up.

*****CONDENSED VERSION FOR THOSE OF US THAT ARE NOT SO GOOD WITH THE READING*****

a.) TRU marked down a shiton of inventory.

b.) Inventory will continue to be marked down if they do not sell.

c.) Prices may vary between store.

i saw Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue (GBA) priced at the Clearance Shelf for $ 9.98.

need to update the list.

what are some wowrthwhile PSP and DS games to get? i still havent been to a TRU in awhile and hope they still have some in stock. since the closest TRU's got closed down months ago, the closest TRU's are over an hour drive away
any chance on picking up another darkwatch for me?

:D
The store that I got mine from changed the prices as soon as I was leaving, but I am sure that I saw the same price at another TRU. I'll be in that area after work today, so I'll stop by to see if they have any left.

I went to TRU today and picked up Castlevania Double Pack. They had two left. The also had two of the FF hard drives behind the counter for $39.99 but I didnt pull the trigger. I spent enough already between the 3 Simpsons seasons for $19.99 each that I was missing at Best Buy and NCAA 07 for XBOX for $39.99 at CC.

I have no desire playing the FF game but is the hard drive worth having alone at that price? I have the 1st generation PS2 but I heard you cannot use the hard drive as a memory card to store saves is that true? What can you use it for besides the FF game?

You can't save games directly to the HDD, but you can store saves there. So rather than buying new memory cards, I just move saves for games I don't play much to the HDD. If I ever want to play a game, I just move the save from the HDD to the memory card, and when I'm done, I save to the memory card, then move the save back to the HDD. Kind of a pain, but it works for me.

Picked up a 12-month card for XBox Live, Castlevania Double Pack and a Black GC Screen. There were plenty more screens and cards, but it was the only Castlevania I saw.

how much was the screen and 12 month card? those are 2 items i would love to get. unfortunately the closest TRU's which are over an away are clean out of the good stuff

Bloomingdale, IL TRU had (as of yesterday) prolly around 20 of the GC LCD Screens for $29.98, in both Indigo and Black. Screen comes with a 12V car adapter as well.

^My TRU doesn't have any of those Intec screens for the Gamecube, unless they're behind counter somewhere or in the backroom. I'd like to pick one up, but probably will just stick with my Sony PSone lcd screen or wait for the PS2 Intec screen to drop from $99.99 to something more reasonable! :)
Does anyone know if the Gameboy Micro's price is going to drop soon because I looked around and saw it as priced with the tickets being $99.99 at my local TRU, while I heard on here that some are getting it for $65? Thanks ahead and yeah I know I can get it cheaper on ebay and compusa.

If your local compusa doesn't have it in stock, you can always get the gba micro from Amazon for $69.82, with no tax and free super saver shipping.

I'm going to TRU tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll find Killer 7, Fire Emblem: SS, and a couple $15 Xbox games. Likely, I'll find a couple copies of KISS pinball...

I got DQ8 $20, Phantom Dust $10 and Kengo $10.

I saw MGS:TS for $4.98 :hot: . Too bad I already got that game.

Too bad they didn't have Suikoden Tactics. Anyway I just bought that from another CAG :D .

Does anyone have, or can anyone get the:

NDS

Monopoly/Yahtzee/Boggle/Battleship combo pak? $14.98

It's the only game from the sale that I want, that I can't find here.

I haven't seen anyone post that they found it.

If anyone can pick one up for me, I can get/trade any one of the following for it:

Suikoden Tactics
Mega Man X Collection (GCN)
Psychonauts (XBOX)
Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (GBA)

(These are all $14.98 games too.)

Thanks,
Steve

I've been at 4 TRUs recently. None of them had it. The last two didn't have price stickers for them, so either they never had them, or ran out awhile back.

Are the Fire Emblems for the GCN on clearance also? I see the title listed, but I'm not finding confirmation.

If so, I'd love to trade the one eyetoy: antigrav I have left from the CC sale for that or MGS Twin Snakes maybe...someone let me know please...I can't seem to find anyone who wants that anymore, so I need to start getting involved in other clearances :)

I was at TRU today, and yes, FE: Path of Radiance is clearenced. $29.xx at mine. I picked up FE: Sacred Stones, Psychonauts (XB), and Killer 7 (GC) today for $42.xx.

They had about 30 titles on clearance mostly PS2. I haven't really checked about the 12 month packs, sorry.

I grabbed a wireless EA controler for $7.99, giest for $9.99, MGS:TS for $9.99, Baten Katios for $14.99, Plus I saw a bunch of LCD screen for the Gamecube But I simply would never use one even thou $29.99 is a good price.

$29.98 for the screen

Oh good lord. I had to find this JUST NOW.

How the heck do they have copies of KOF:EX2 for GBA for less than $10? That game fetches over $30 on eBay, and I've been trying to buy a copy for years!

12-month Xbox Live card goes for $20, 12-month Xbox Live starter kit (with Crimson Skies) goes for $30. I was able to pick up the starter kit, but the plain cards were all out. And yes, they do work on the 360.

Do you guys think that this price is as good as its gonna get for the fire emblem on gamecube? It doesn't seem like a game that was widely distributed, so i'm debating whether or not to jump on it for $30

I've heard some good things about the game, and I'm a big fan of the first American release, but I'm still a cheap ass. I'm waiting for PoR to be at $20 before I pick it up.

I want it too, but I'm holding off for $15-$20. Somebody will put it on clearance eventually...

When the hell did this game become rare? I believe it had a unversal price drop to $20 a while back... I've seen it for that price at Meijer and EB/GS (although I think it was the used price there). I definitely remember seeing stacks and stacks of this game at TRU around Christmas but haven't looked since. If I lived within an hour of TRU I'd go check...but mine went out of business.

I found an Intec Wireless Xbox Dance Pad for $9.98 today. I think this is the one I saw. It's the one without the foam backing. It didn't appear that the foam-backed one was on sale, and was priced at $49.99.

I didn't see a metal one.

I went to my local Toys R Us (Champaign, IL) and found that they had a number of the Intec Gamecube screens left. Strangely, only the black and silver models were marked as being on sale (they had one of each). The three indigo ones were marked normal price ($130 or so). Considering that someone had mentioned that they got an Indigo one for around $20 instead of the $30 that these were going for, I asked them to check the price. It rang up normal price, and the clerk even called the manager over because he thought it was strange, but the manager said it was supposed to be that way. (He didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about, but whatever.)

Anyway, I bought the black one and brought it home, but it was defective. Unless you pinched the case of the screen together with your fingers, the picture and sound would be all distorted. I took it back and exchanged it for the silver one. It works, but the quality is pretty crappy. I wasn't really expecting much, but it's a bit worse than I had hoped. Kind of like a TV with a bad analog connection. From reading the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, I gather that there are at least two versions of this same product, and that one is better than the other, so maybe I got the bad version. It's probably worth about $30, but not much more. At least it can be used as a monitor for anything that outputs a composite video signal, so that makes it a little more useful.

Well I went into my local TRU (Bellevue, WA) a couple days ago (cause with no AC or fans my apartment is hotter than hell) and ended up picking up a couple of games.

They had a whole bunch of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stone (GBA) at $14.98 so I picked one of them up. And they also had a few Psychonauts (XBOX) at $14.98; I beat the game when I rented it a while back and I've really wanted to own it becuase it is such an awesome game, and at that price I couldn't resist; the only thing that makes me sad is it hasn't been made backwards compatible with the xbox360 yet.

PeaceOut->

anyone know when TRU will make the next round of price-drops? Or is this a YMMV moving forward depending on which titles sell at what pace at each store?

I picked up some 12-month Xbox Live Cards today for other CAGs since they seemed to be in hot demand. I PMed a few people I noticed earlier who wanted them, but if they back out or don't need them anymore, PM me to get on the waiting list. $25 cash or money order or $26 PayPal (to cover PP fees).

Picked up Tron for $4.98 and a $20 12 month xbox live card today, considered the xbox screen but passed. Thanks OP!

Shit do I even have a chance at getting the Castlevania pack? I completely missed this. Sigh. And I would be looking forward to some digital controller action on my GC with it.

I picked one up this past Saturday, so your chances are probably still decent. Especially since it's $20 and not $10, it will probably hang around on the shelf longer than the really cheap games.
I picked up the Action Replay Max Evo with 16MB USB stick for $14.98. V3.30! Yeah!
Nice find. My store has plenty for GC and XBOX but no PS2 ones which, of corse, is the one I really wanted.
