Anyone have tips for removing the GUILT from Rueben (I think it's like 3-9 or somewhere close). I got it down to one triangle left and then about 6 or 7 appeared immediately.

fastest way is to healing touch, pull out all of the thorns (external ones first), watch for gas(suck it up with drain), and start cutting them out and pulling them out. Lastly, never leave a single triangle alone if you can help it (obviously you can't for the last one, so just be quick) if you do it right, you should be able to get rid of all of them before healing touch wears off. I've heard starting from the right and going left is easiest.

just got to the level in Chapter 3 when Stiles visits the medical conference. this "special" operation that follows, is pretty neat, but its frustrating me right now :)

although I'm not as far in the game as most of you here, I have to again express my enjoyment of this game. such a fun game, and it is definitely satisfying to breathe a sigh of relief after putting through that last suture. I was pretty relieved once I got the GUILT out of Amy, but I'm sure things are only going to get worse as the game progresses :)

also how do I drain the water in one of the chapter, to drop it on the other side do I slide the style down or do i just tap it?

To drain it....tap the water and drag the stylus up- same way as you do when you're sucking stuff into the syringe for injections. When you drop it- tap it (the meter will stay up) and then push the water down.

This helped me out too...thanks. I beat the first one so fast that I didn't know how to do it when the second triangle mission came up.

Love how hard this game is. I don't get why people are complaining that it's hard and that they don't know what to do- half the fun is figuring out what to do for an operation- why would you want to be told what to do all the time?
A tip for those on 2-4:

Remove the first two aneurisms.

Now, two new ones will pop up...or something like that. Shrink and use the scalpel on them, but DO NOT remove them. Once you have shrunk and scalpeled both on the screen, remove them until new ones pop up. Do the same for these, and remove once all are shrunk. Now the nure will tell you that the operation is done. Suddenly a buttload of aneurisms pop up and she spazs out. This is the tough part.

As soon as you gain control, zoom out and activate healing touch. Now, quickly zoom into a spot where you have access to 3 or more aneurisms. Shrink them and scalpel them. If they get really big, shrink them and them shrink others, as to avoid them bursting. The key is speed. Once you scalpel all (5, I think) aneurisms, all you have to do is make sure his vitals are stable, and remove, suck, and patch. If you lose, don't give up. It is pretty easy.

Here's another tip- when you're doing the second wave an aneurisms, get his vitals up high. Then you're less likely the have to stabilize them while in healing touch, losing time and risking a rupture.

Just a little help for those who may be having trouble, I know I did.

Edit: Now I'm stuck on the one where you have to remove the GUILT from Amy in two locations. I can get it out of the first area no problem. But I always run out of time on the second one. Argh!
Thanks. I've been stuck here.
I've made it to 5-2 where you have to heal 5 people in 10 minutes. Any tips?
Do it as fast as you can. After 10 minutes is up backup comes. I only got 3 people done.

What about the one right after that, where you have to take on the triangular GUILT that seems to be on steroids? I tried it once and lost fairly quickly, even though I used the Healing touch.

I'm stuck on that operation myself, jfunk. I tried every strategy I could think of, but I ran out of time every time. >

I'm stuck on 6-8. I think I'll just try beating it once a day since the surgery is so long and I'm tired of starting all over on it every time.

Btw, on the 5 people in 10 minutes, I almost got all 5 people done. The "backup" came (ie ran out of time) while stitching up the incision after the 5th surgery. My wife is still stuck on this mission. I actually got this game for her (she loves Discovery Health) but the game gets pretty challenging after this. I'm proud that she's gotten this far, she's not much of a gamer.

I found this on gamefaqs for 5-3.

The triti follows two basic rules for its regeneration.

The first, and most important, rule is this. Whenever you remove any piece of the triangular membrane, ANY, repeat, ANY remaining piece with two thorns on an open edge will replicate a new triangular piece onto that edge.

So (taking the example of 5-3, with its two separate starting batches of triti), even if you've pulled all of the thorns out of the right batch of triti, the moment you use the forceps to pull off one of the pieces from the membrane, every triangular piece with two thorns opening onto an edge in the left batch will replicate a new piece.

How do you cope with this, I hear you ask? By removing all the thorns on the edges, of course. A daunting task, thanks to the thorns' constant regeneration, but that's what Healing Touch is for. (A note, be very careful when you're drawing your HT star. As a lot of people have already pointed out, higher star quality = more surgical bullet time). So, go into HT, remove all of the edge thorns, and start cutting, removing more thorns as needed, making sure you never leave an edge piece with two thorns facing the edge.

The second rule is a little screw-you from Atlus to us that can ruin the last stage of these operations. If a piece of triangular membrane is left isolated (edges not touching any other edges) and it has at least one thorn, it will replicate onto all three of its sides (especially painful if it's the very last piece and it suddenly grows a new thorn). The only way to deal with this is to pull thorns as fast as humanly possible (HT is a huge help here, but if you're at the end of the operation it's probably gone). If you do get caught by this, don't panic. If you move quickly enough, four pieces aren't that hard to deal with as long as you keep rule one in mind.

Hmm. Thanks Spydey. I'll try this out soon.

Another thing I've noticed- If you grap a severed membrane and accidentally drop it and miss the plate, new membranes grow there. I've done that a few times. >

Just take your time and draw the best star you can (this GUILT strain doesn't really do anything anyway). Anyways, if you draw a big awesome star you will have time to do the whole surgery all the way up to bandaging inside the healing touch. Work quickly and remove all the thorns. You can do all the cutting at the same time. I think using parallel lines works the fastest, you don't have to worry about cutting the patient because he's covered with the triangle junk. My wife just "scribbles" to get all the little yellow squares. When all the squares are gone, you just remove all the triangles. If you worked quickly, you'll finish before any thorns reappear. The dude looks kind of a ghastly grey color while you sew him up and bandage him too.

My wal-mart has 4 copies of this as of tuesday. i can't get it now, but i'm hoping there will be one left in a couple of weeks.

Ok I beat 5-3. This is what I did. Right after I opened him up, I drew a nice big star and got a lot of time. I then pulled out all the thorns. Then I cut only the first group of membrane (The one I pulled the thorns out first). Then I removed them. Next I did the same to the second group. You have to work fast, but that's how I did it.

Good Luck.

I healing touched and was able to remove all membranes within time. Took me forty seconds total.

I think the difficulty of this game is just unnecessary.

I can't beat the one where your nurse lady has that weird wormlike strand of GUILT.

Yeah that was tough. This is what I did. Remember to laser the tail to stun them. Cut it in half. Then attack only one of the two, but keep the other one stun so it doesn't get away. Then cut one in half ignore the other, but keep it stuned. Then do the same thing so your just cutting and dealing with one at a time. After you get the first two killed and removed go back to the next smallest and work your way up. I saved the healing touch until I was at the liver stage, and by that time I had only four small ones left. When you get low on health just stun everything and stitch/heal as needed. If they get past the liver your pretty much screwed if there is more than one or two small ones so keep them stuned.

I'm not there yet. I'm still on 6-3. I've gotten close a few times, but I ran out of time. I think I have a winning strat now. Good luck with 6-8.

just started level 4, and i have to say this is one of the most annoying games out for the ds. at first the game seem pretty unique, but after a few hours it feels like im playing xx/xy and the annoyance factor kicks in. blah

I only have two problems with this game.

1. Not enough normal surgeries.
2. Too many duplicated surgeries. You have to defeat each type of guilt three or four times.
What's the title of 5-2 so I can looking it up under challenge.
the citywalk. its the one where you have to work on 5 patients with a 10 min time limit. i tried it a couple of time and i almost got to 4 patients. what kills me is that im always losing vitals. whats the speedist method to get this time without losing much vitals. thanks

Actually you don't have to get through all 5 patients. After the second patient, the nurse will say backup is on the way. All you have to do is keep your patient alive until time runs out and then finish the operation. I almost finished the 5th patient but ran out of time right before I finished sewing him up (and then had to gel/bandage him up). But really you only have to finish 3 patients to complete the level.

If you want to try beating all 5 patients under 10 minutes, my strategy is to avoid stitching the lacerations as much as you can. Just keep attacking the guilt and pump up vitals as needed. I stitch up a couple lacerations that the big guilt leaves to slow the vitals drop, but I wait until the guilt is defeated before I do the rest. If you are sewing already and vitals are low, you can save time by not pumping the vitals since it stops dropping after all the lacerations are sewed up. If you do it right, you should be able to finish the first couple patients in about 1:30 each. Vitals drop faster for the later patients though, so that works best for only the first two.

thanks, i thought you had to save all 5. i knew i should read the text, but it was late at night so i didnt bother. so my dumbass let the patients die when time was running out.

banpeikun did you beat it yet? I've made it to 6-7 so I'm close. I almost beat it a couple of times, but ran out of time. I have a good strat I just have to get faster.

No, I haven't beat it yet. I hate this game now grr. Actually, I haven't tried for several days. I've been running back and forth from GR to EB doing deals in my free time. That's more fun, come to think of it. What's your strategy on 6-7? I can usually get past the web part and cut the little bugger twice with the scalpel but it doesn't let me inject it still. Not sure how many times I have to cut it before I can on that level. I usually die when it makes the 3 simultaneous cuts for like the 5th time or something.

That must be 6-8. 6-7 is the worm. What I've done is waited until I do my second slice on it, and then do my star. It last almost long enough for me to kill it, but I take to long stitching.

Hope you move up to 6-8 soon. Misery loves company. :bomb:

this game is officially the most annoying game i have ever played. you seriously have to be on tweak to be able to complete these chapters.
I haven't touched my game in weeks. I would like to beat it though. For closure...
me too, I've been playing too much Mario 64 DS.

Ok, I bet 6-7 today. I'm finally on 6-8. I'm getting tired of the game. Today was the first time I've played in weeks, but it's the last level. Hopefully I'll bet it soon and then Mario Kart.

It's a bit fustrating. I only pick it up when I've got an extra 45 minutes to spare. That five minute mission could baloon into a much longer sitting.

Yeah It's a great game don't get me wrong. It perfect for when you only have 5-10 minutes to play.
can anybody help me with 1-6, it's the one with the 4 tumors, the vitals drop so fucking fast!? is there a way to do it?
inject some of that green stuff.
