Trauma Center discussion
can anybody help me with 1-6, it's the one with the 4 tumors, the vitals drop so fucking fast!? is there a way to do it?
Inject the health potion, and don't remove the tumors until you get all of them cut. I found that works best.

anybody try those secret X missions yet??

after not playing this game in forever since I beat it, I tried it out,

seriously die in like 30 seconds...

I'm on 6-3! I'm getting close, fellas!

After I got to 5-6 (the stupid worm thing) I was so mad...but I stopped, took a shower to cool off, thought about it for awhile, came back and finished it. The game might be frustrating, but it's extremely rewarding when you figure out how to get past whatever it is that's giving you trouble. I applaud Atlus...of course, maybe I should wait until I finish the game before saying so...

I tried them right after I beat the game, and probably died in 20 seconds. I don't see how it's even remotely possible.

How did you guys beat 6-8? That little spider web guilt strain? How many times do you have to cut the bugger before you can inject it?

I can't even last 2 minutes in 6-8. Is there a faster way to cut the webbing? Right now I'm having to make several small cuts to break one strand. It takes to long and I don't have time to stop the big bugs from forming.
Is your hand a freaking claw now? It is, isn't it?
It would be, but after beating the game I was such a skilled surgeon I operated on my own hand to revert it back to normal.

The spider thing is kicking my ass. I can get up to the part at the end when you automatically do Healing Touch, but then it goes berserk and makes like, 20 lacerations at once, literally. Kicking my ass.

That spider is really a pain in the ass. I retired this game for that reason. I cant get past 5-8. Loved the game, it just got too frustrating. I'll probably play it again if ever a good cheat device for the DS comes up--just to finish it.

Save up your Healing Touch during the operation, because you HAVE to use it a second time when the automatic Healing Touch is triggered. Once the automatic Healing Touch kicks in, immediately use your own Healing Touch, and inject that mother fucker. Took me forever to figure that out...well, it took longer to MAKE IT that far, but still...

Something I learned that helped immensely against the spider - ignore the small spiders it makes. Just worry about the big cuts it makes and keeping vitals up.

Yeah but the small bugs start swirling to create that big blue beetle thing, which causes significant damage even as soon as it's made.

Thanks for the tip about doubling up the Healing Touch, I never would have thought that possible.

No problem. And yeah, I never ignored the lil' ones because of that very reason...only ignore them if the web starts to turn red, that should be your first priority.

When it makes the blue bug though, just restore vitals and keep going. It's easier to do that than to try to stop them from making the blue bug (and then have them make it anyway) AND restore their vitals.

I noticed the little bugs only take half off the health every time they do damage (when they change to the big bug?). If you focus on injecting the green serum while your waiting for a knife, you shouldn't have to waste time using the laser on them. I was able to beat the first part using only the green serum and the knife.

Remember to use your second healing touch immediately after the first healing touch activates. The bug will start spamming nine lacerations at a time if you give him the chance.

So, anyone beaten the X missions yet? I didn't even last a minute on the first stage.

Yeah...that first one wasn't even funny. I might be a master surgeon, but I'm not a God. Oh well, I feel accomplished beating the regular game.

Been playing this since Xmas, and it's a spectacular game. It's extremely original, cleverly written, and recommended for any DS owner. The fast pace of the operations successfully emulates the stress that a real surgeon would feel.

Actually I think real operations would be easier to do than the later parts of this game.

Tell me about it.

If they make a sequel I would like to see more 'normal' operations i.e. all those before GUILT was introduced. I thought the level where you had to extract bits of glass from someone's arm and then stitch him up was fun. Also maybe more levels similar to the bomb one.

I loved the "real" operations, but I bought it without knowing that 95% of the game was operating on "gremlins inside the body."
I loved the "real" operations, but I bought it without knowing that 95% of the game was operating on "gremlins inside the body."
Same here. I wish there were less operations on GUILT and more operations that are 'real life', if you will.

I fucking hate this game. Not really but everything will be going along just fine and I will do a few operations and then boom this hard surgery comes up or I keep messing up in the same spot. I'm stuck on the surgery where you have to remove the tumors and suck up the two things that produce the tumors.

Like most people, I loved the real surgeries in the game and started getting annoyed when the rest of the game turned into "well, here's what you did before, only it's more frustrating!" Not to say that it's bad, but the believability and the repetition just pretty much removed me from the rest of the game.

Overall, I'm still thrilled with Trauma Center, but I don't think I'll be buying my own copy for a while, at least not until it hits $15 or so. Fantastic premise, insanely good controls, writing, and characters, but god, I dislike the repetition of the GUILT.

Here's hoping for a quality sequel!

I beat it 3-4, I do agree with everyone else though. I think this game would be legendary if it stayed to real surgery. But since it gets into fantasy surgeries it will just stay at great.

Repetition? Any idea how many of the same surgeries doctors do in their lifetime?

why does everyone prefer these "real" operations?!?!

oh I know!! coz theyre EASY!!!

seriously, what makes removing glass shards more fun than removing a guilt?!?!

it's like check me out dawgs!! Im removing some kinda tumor dat jus sits there doing nothing waiting for me to remove it.

live animals f*ckin up shit in some dudes stomach?!?! nah, dat aint fun at all.

No, I wouldn't mind at all if the difficulty level stayed the same. It's like, why do people love Disneyland? It's all about the THEMING.
Repetition? Any idea how many of the same surgeries doctors do in their lifetime?
True, of that there is no doubt, but even in those cases there are countless variations on the same theme due to the patients and their health patterns and history, not to mention the randomness that may occur during the operations themselves.

I just wasn't thrilled with most of the GUILT operations becoming "here's the strain you're going to topple, perform the same procedure only be faster and more accurate." Slightly less time and faster reactions just didn't really cut it for me when it came close to the end-game.

Personally, I would have been thrilled if they threw in about two or three other strains, one or two of which bordering "...we don't have any idea how to handle this at all..." and forcing you to decide what is working and how. A few different approaches (with varying degrees of success) would be interesting as well, but that sort of thought basically forces the game design to stretch beyond its original scope and intention.

But I don't really berate a game on what it should be rather than what it is. I still love it, I just wish there was a bit more variety near the end. Regardless, toss out a sequel and, well, hell, that's enough for me.

The last chapter of the game reminded me of those rooms at the end of every Megaman game where you fight all the bosses in a row.

Same here. Stuck on the last boss of the regular game. After the webbing is gone, he just kicks my ass.

I was just looking at my games while on break from work thinking I should take Trauma Center home over Easter and see if I can beat it. Too... many... games... That, and papers :p

SON-OF-A-fuckING-BITCH!

Got to nearly the end with Mr. Spider. Derek did the auto-healing touch, so I thought "whew, now all I have to do is do do a manual HT, inject, and I'm done". I start the star and the fucker moves diagnally while in the middle of it and kills the remaining health I had. *@#&* #&#*)&$(I$ Keep in mind that I have been trying for HOURS to get passed this. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRG

Don't bother killing the little spiders. Just keep injecting the green stuff to keep health up and laser/cut the main spider and webbing. That's what I remember from playing that stage. Keep in mind it has been half a year since I played this game though, I'm probably forgetting some of the details.

That was always my strategy; too bad it took 20+ times to work. Finally won about 3 times after my last post.

Hmm.

I'm still stuck on the one where someone's sister is ill and all the little worms are crawling about.

I always run out of time.

fucking bitch.

I hate this game.

Haven't played in months.

Jeeze, I'd hate to see you with some of the later missions...that one's a walk in the park.

i am still stuck in the 2. chapter. Damn these things pop so fast, i could not finish it.
have to practive a little more.

Really? I always made sure to kill 'em, because get too many and they swarmed and did some big attack that took of a lot of damage.
