Coming out of PWG's "Giant Size Annual #4" show yesterday, there are new PWG Tag Champs as well as a new PWG Champion.

In what was supposed to be The Briscoes against PAC & Roderick Strong, El Generico and Kevin Steen teamed to defeat PAC and Strong to win the PWG Tag Titles.

American Dragon, angry about losing his title shot against Generico, challenged anyone in the back to a fight. Out came Necro Butcher, leading to an absolute war. Dragon was busted open by chairs, and Danielson returned the favor by hitting what can best be called a Cattle Mutilation Driver off of the ring apron into a pile of chairs. Hard to describe, but picture Christian's Unprettier with a front flip instead of a twist, and you've got it. Insane spot that looked absolutely brutal. Dragon wins with the MMA elbow submission.

Dragon appeared after the tag match to challenge El Generico to a title match, and after Generico accepted, Danielson won the PWG Championship with the Cattle Mutilation.

Also of note, Austin Aries won a BOLA spot over Rocky Romero where he'll face Nigel McGuinness in the first round.

Wow, man. Sounds absolutely awesome! How was the match between Dragon and Generico?

Excellent, with tons of heat from the crowd. Lots of stiff Dragon forearms and Generico Mafia kicks. Generico hit most of his spots, including the running boot in the corner, the brainbuster, and the suicide plancha. Dragon worked a mostly technical match, sticking to various suplexes and strikes. Finish came after Dragon went for the Mutilation several times, only to see Generico reach the ropes each time. Finally locked it in after rolling tiger suplexes from Dragon. I've got video of a sick backdrop from the top rope by Dragon, and a few pictures from the night as well. I'll have to upload them tonight since I'm running to class.

Thanks man! Can't wait to check them out! Generico is working his ass off between his matches at Race To The Top tourney at ROH and now this.

The Nigel McGuinness vs. 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson main event is said to be a Match of The Yeah Candidate so if anyone is interested in some amazing wrestling, definitely check this out.

There is also talk of Misawa coming to ROH in November. If that is the case, I'm going to end up buying a general admission ticket for the August 25th show and then just hover around the ticket counter so I can pick up front row seats for the november show. :)
Its been confirmed...and it wasn't Russo's move, go figure...
We all know that the IWC will shit all over Russo for it regardless. I can already hear the "Fyurrre Ruzzzzzuo" chants from the Orlando Seal Monkeys.

Seeing that I saw them go one hour at "Epic Encounter II" live and in person I can testify that they are capable of MOTY calibar matches. :applause:
but is it as bad as the news about Rikishi and Brian Christopher talking to TNA about reforming as a tag team?
what's so bad about that?
what's so bad about that?
Because it would turn TNA Impact into WWE Smackdown circa 2001.

With all the talk of the WWE wellness policy, it should be noted that Kurt Angle never failed a test for pain pills. He failed a steroid test (decadurabolism) only because his prescription had expired.

At the moment, TNA does not have any kind of drug testing program like the WWE has. Part of the reason Kurt Angle was released was because of his dependency on pain killers. Now, in wake of the Chris Benoit tragedy, wrestlers are becoming concerned about Kurt Angle's use of pain killers. Wrestlers have reported that after matches Kurt Angle is barely coherent when he speaks because he mumbles so much which could be from the high doses of pain medications Angle consumes. One wrestler said, "something is going to happen to Kurt Angle and this company is going to feel terrible that they didn't do anything."

So, Kurt's still a ticking timebomb of death?

A gold medal ticking timebomb of death.

I mean, Chris Benoit didn't have any wrestling medals and killed two people. Can you imagine what Angle's going to do? He'll wind up choking out half the Impact Zone.

Speaking of TNA doing dumb things, here's another new signing they made expected to debut tonight:

- Former WWE stars Matt Morgan and Andrew "Test" Martin are scheduled to make their TNA debuts tonight in Orlando at the iMPACT tapings.

Test being the "new" one, as I mentioned Morgan earlier.
A gold medal ticking timebomb of death..
You may wanna pull the rest of that before igniting the flamescapades... although it's hard to tell what will and won't upset people these days.

Yawn. I'm surprised any company still wants him. He has and always will be boring and not talented.

Yeah seriously. That's all the company, scratch that, the wrestling industry needs at the moment.

Early spoilers from the TNA tapings

*Test debuted as a babyface to help Sting and Abyss defeat Styles and Cage in a ladder match. His new name is "The Punisher".

*Announced for the Hard Justice PPV will be a Doomsday Chamber of Blood match featuring a steel cage with a barbed wire top. The competitors can't lose until they are bleeding. The winner gets a title shot at the No Surrender PPV.

Hmm, that was a decent promo from of course Mr. Kennedy, but also Cena and even Carlito. I hope Carlito beats Cena tonight, via the assist of Randy Orton.

awesome name!!!!! when does this air!

I don't think his character name had anywhere to go but up.

TNA - home to drug test failures since 2002.

Oh, look! It's Daivari. You might remember me from...well, all right, I guess there's really nothing memorable about me. I'm more or less every 170 pound indy worker ever, in a brown-skinned body.

"The Punisher"!?!?!?!?!?

That sounds so fucking indie (or late '80s-early '90s WCW).

I've seen him live a few times wrestling way before WWE, he was hilarious. WWE just has no clue how to use him. Surprise.

I actually kinda like
Test, regardless of his ovious drug use.

I'll be interested to see how TNA uses him...

I hate it when TNA uses WWE wash-ups, but I don't really regard him as a "wash-up".

I'm sure they have a clue, they just don't care. In WWE, big=push. There's no two ways about it. You have a handful of exceptions (HBK, Hart), but the majority of guys are where they are as a result of size. Not wrestling ability, not promo ability (see Bobby "I shoulda been in silent films" Lashley)...nothing.

I think it's silly to think that we, as fans, will ever see good wrestling on WWE tv, or solid wrestlers get their due. Nevertheless, between the internet providing info about indies, having easy access to Lucha Libre and Puro tapes/videos, and solid, solid fuckin' indies (PWG, ROH, UWF) all across the country, it is a very good time to be a wrestling fan.

I still watch Raw, but expecting them to change for the better is Waiting For Godot.

They are what they are, take it or leave it.

I'm sure he's a solid wrestler in the ring, but he's tiny, he's a minority, and he's tiny. He ain't gonna do anything. Ever.

Brak, I kinda agree - I've really changed my tune on Tomko since he joined TNA; his interaction with Christian will lead to a great face turn, provided he doesn't get lost in the upper-card (which seems destined to happen). I can't help but think that TNA is making some substantially WCW-sized errors in hiring dumbass "con-tro-ver-sial" guys like Pacman, and bringing in the WWE's dogends to fill out their roster. TNA, as a whole, is still fun to watch, but they're making some huge mistakes in their long-term stability, IMO.

Speaking of TNA, did anyone read that newspaper column from the NC-based promoter who shit all over LAX's unprofessionalism in an indy date they worked sometime in the past few weekends?

Agreed.

Especially with the underlined.

Kennedy could go out to the ring and sock a baby in the face and I'd still mark out.

why oh why is snitsky getting these promos..and why is King booker vs Lawler getting the press...who f'n cares about Lawler wrestling anyone...

Sometimes I wonder. I only watch out of tradition, as RAW is fucking horrible nowadays.

There's about three people who are awesome - Shane McMahon, Mr. Kennedy, and Edge. One is a part time wrestler, other is out for months.

I really should watch something better, but i'm lazy.

I feel like a fool; I've owned an HDTV for months now, and just yesterday discovered how to access over-air HD signals. Once Monday Night Football starts, it's on like neckbone.

In the meantime, I've managed to keep up with CAG, read 3.5 research articles on prison recidivism, and catch enough Raw to keep up. I also did a spot of laundry as well.

Thanks Vince!

EDIT: SHIT. MNF is on ESPN now. BOO!

Kennedy, Triple H, edge... I personally hope Triple H comes back and shits all over Raw...

one of the best comeback matches was HBK when he took on the undertaker and did some amazing and funny things in the match...my hope is that HHH comes in and destroys Cena...

you don't have cable??

Oh yeah, you won't regret it for a minute. I stopped watching ECW entirely, I never watched smackdown and now I'm thinking about putting RAW on the back burner soon.

Seriously. The masses probably love John Cena (ovbiously, as he sells) win every goddamn title match, but I don't. They should fire everybody and start over. It's sad that I'm actually looking forward to Triple H coming back.

I don't even want to hear Lawler on the announcer's mic... what makes them think I want to see him in the ring?

oh wait.. another wanna be main carder vs an over the hill wannabe...

btw... Vicera's moobs are out of control...and his matches should be banned unless he wears a shirt...

I like Big Daddy V's look -- It's way better than Vicera, and it's actually something that feels fresh.

I walked away from the television 49 minutes into the show. It's like you watch Claudio Cagliostro turn a Niagra Falls into a Ricola Bomb, and suddenly Raw isn't all that interesting anymore.

Hmm....
you don't have cable??
I don't have HD cable. I was looking forward to watching NFL in HD. I suppose I still can on Sundays, but not Mondays. Que sera.

Truth be told, I fully expect Triple H to come back, work for a few months and beat Cena for the title, and then suddenly pull a Kevin Nash while in the ring, effectively ending his wrestling career.

Ladies and Gentlemen, *YOUR* OVW Southern Tag Team Champions.

EDIT: Forgot to add that we aren't particularly proud of that.

EDIT 2: Looks like they're taking on the first two graduates of the "Duane Gill School of Lukewarm Knocks."

EDIT 3: YOYOYOYOYOYOOOYOYOYOYO. JTG and Shadd versus Ron "The Truth" Killings in a rap battle. That shit would make MC Hammer look positively street by comparison.
