True Blood Official Discussion: Season 3 starts Sun. June 13th!

They should have killed Tara's mom. I can't believe she pulled that shit. Of course we knew Tara would get caught, being the dumbass she is.

That egg was weird though, where the hell could that have come from?

I got it!!!

Eggs is a shifter and Mary Ann forced him to change into an egg, and then she's gonna make a Benedict Eggs Benedict for a feast

XD

Sam turned into a chicken, as Jason previously discussed in the episode, laid the egg, which Eggs must then sit on until it hatches. When the egg hatches, Lafayette cooks whatever comes out of the egg, with help from Eggs and Tara, so Mary-Ann can eat it. At that point, Sophie-Anne comes in and punches Mary-Ann in the stomach. Mary-Ann throws up the contents of the egg, which makes Eggs angry. Tara, then goes after Sophie-Anne for hurting Mary-Ann, and Eggs hits Sophie-Anne for ruining the contents of the egg. Lafayette notices the mess on the floor, and says "Oh no, bitch. You didn't". Bill walks in and says "Sookeh!" He promptly gets hit in the face by Eggs, slips on the contents of the egg on the floor, and falls on a shard from a wooden chair broken in all the chaos. Bill turns into a pile of dust, and everyone starts laughing and forgets what they were fighting for. They all decide to go to Merlotte's for a drink. Roll credits.

EDIT - Oh crap...I forgot to put spoiler tags...

Somewhere in there, Anna Paquin and Evan Rachel Wood need a scene together so the world can finally determine who the worst living actress is.

Evan Rachel Wood is a good actress. You have to remember. Her entire screen time was spent with Bill, whose infinite awkwardness rubs off on everybody.

I thought she was good in Thirteen. She's seemed awkward and self-aware in everything else I've ever seen her in.

The last 2 weeks have really put a strain on an otherwise excellent second season. Six Feet Under did this all the time which is why I gave up on it eventually.

What do you want? Killing and sex week in and week out?

is it me or do all the older vampires seem kinda bored? bill has sookie and he loves her she loves him and its all good but all the older richer more established vampires seem jealous or evnious of what he has not so much because of her abilities but i think its more they see one of their kind happy with her and they cant get it and assume theres something about her that makes her that way. as if loving anyone or anything is impossible if youre a vamp. make you think if bill just pretended to be like other vamps then maybe the other vamps wouldnt want sookie so much. guess after so many hundreds of years life would get boring.

jason had some good points though about sams abilities and what he could do with them. and that vamp queen is damn sexy ( cmon nude scene cmon nude scene) didnt she used to date marylin manson in real life?

still waiting for maryann to die already................

Have you seen Across The Universe? I thought she was good in that. Good singer too.

About the end of the episode
You know how maryann only goes after people with special talents? i.e.:sookie, sam, daphne, etc.. Maybe Eggs is called "eggs" for a literal reason???

So, I get home to a package from UPS. I couldnt remember buying anything lately. I opened the package and much to my excitement was this:

Just in time for the finale this Sunday. Though I dont think i'll be drinking them, Not sure what I'll do with 4, but at least i'll have one for display at home and one for work.

I got my true blood drink as well, anyone know what stores these will be sold in cuz i wanna drink one, im keeping my 4 pack sealed asI dont see this drink lasting for too long in retail

Wow, nice man! I wanted to order some of that, but it was a little too pricey. I'll probably break down and buy some eventually though. It's just way too fucking cool to not have (and I'm really curious how it tastes too). Have they actually said it's going to be available in store? I'd definitely pick some up if it were available locally. I'd like to put a little vodka in it and make it a Fangbanger, haha...or as I'd refer to it, "The Jessica Special". :)
The flavor is Blood Orange. I'm assuming that it tastes more like orange than blood ;-).
It's more than just a clever name. Blood orange is a type of orange. :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_orange

The blood orange is a variety of orange (Citrus sinensis) with crimson, blood-colored flesh. The fruit is smaller than an average orange; its skin is usually pitted, but can be smooth. The distinctive dark flesh color is due to the presence of anthocyanin, a pigment common to many flowers and fruit, but uncommon in citrus fruits.[1] Sometimes there is dark coloring on the exterior of the rind as well, depending on the variety of blood orange. The degree of coloration depends on light, temperature and variety.[2]
The blood orange is often described as a hybrid between the pomelo and the tangerine, but it is actually just a mutation of a sweet orange.[3]

yea same here. I really don't ant to pay that though.

I just grabbed the boxset of books for my wife for $20. thought that was a good deal.

I've been reading them and they are way cheesier than the show. Almost romance novel like. I don't recommend them. I've blasted through the first 3 already. Maybe they get better.

I wouldn't hold out hope, though I didn't get any farther than you did.

ending was pretty good, thoughts on who got bill? My guess Eric but its the obvious choice so it might turn out to be someone else.

Jason had quite a few good quotes this ep. His tree falling one was pretty great.

Overall I thought it was kind of an alright finale. I dont think it really needs spoiler tags since it was obvious it would happen, but Mary Ann finally biting the big one had me cheering.

That look Mary Ann had when Sam transformed back was fucking perfect.

The Eggs situation was kinda predictable though. Poor Tara though, just doesn't have any luck with relationships does she. At least this time I doubt she'll go to get any demons removed because of it...

The cliffhanger looks like its going to lead into something involving where Lorena kidnaps Bill from the 3rd book. Of course as the series seems to take its own path, who knows.

I was quite disappointed with the way it left things off for Jessica & Hoyt, but thats just something to look forward to, as well as why the Queen is have V sold. Next few months are gonna pretty boring on Sunday nights.

I was a bit let down by the finale. It's like it tried to do way too much between wrapping up the Mary Ann/Sam thing, showing the aftermath of everything, and setting up next season. It felt too rushed.

Somewhat disappointing finale aside, it was still a very solid season and I look forward to what next season brings.

Yeah, to my surprise, I was a bit disappointed with the finale as well. I thought this season could do no wrong. But considering what a huge portion of the season revolved around Mary-Ann and her crazy bullshit, I thought her death was way too simple.

Sam turning into a bull and stabbing her with his horns could have been done 5 episodes ago at one of the orgies. Yes, I know she had to basically agree to die, but with the vice grip she had on that town, it seemed dumb that she could be tricked so easily. It felt like they built her up way too much to give her that kind of demise. I expected it would take an effort of Bill, Eric, Sookie's new power, and the Queen to bring down Mary-Ann. This was just kinda like "Oh, wow...haha...she's dead".

Not having read the books, I hope the Queen plays a big role next year because otherwise, her character is essentially pointless. I'm also guessing that the end for Jessica is near because unless they send her to "Vampire Rehab", I doubt she'll get over her blood lust. Totally not the finale I was expecting.

The episode did have some great lines though. My favorite:

"Andy, you may have some flaws...but at least you're wearing pants."

I thought it was good...

but boring Sunday nights? you have Curb coming back with a Seinfeld plotline and a new show, Bored to Death, that looks awesome.

I thought shape shifters had to scan what they were going to shift into?? at least thats what it seemed like cause sam always looked at something and shifted into that, if so where the hell did he scan a big ass bull like that

could be his maker. whoever it was had gloves on so its obvious they cant touch silver. or maybe a fellowship of the sun member.

One thing that griped me abou the final is that they NEVER explained why Maryann was o interested in keeping Tara around. It wasn't like she played into her grand scheme or anything.

Also, I love the reference to the Greek myth of Zeus in the guise of a white bull seducing the Queen of Crete.

I don't think the shifters have to be holding the animal they want to shift into.

I think that once they scan something it's "recorded", but in the case of the bull, I'm just gonna say that the plot demanded it.

Maybe something he had seen before? I think those cattle are native to Asia, so unless he's seen one on a farm someplace, I'm not really sure how he could have shifted into one.
