UFC 2009: Undisputed - General Discussion and Info - Releases 5/19

I fucking hate these assholes disconnecting, I was at 49 ranked wins going for 50 to get the brown belt aciev, and as I have this guy in a tapout, he quits. I sent him a message saying, if you can't handle a loss, go to the player lobby and avoided him.

does anybody know why after career mode i cant use the fighters online?:cry::drool::drool::drool::drool:i cant use them for anything except offline mode:bouncy:

Did you finish Career mode and did they force you to retire?

Also, are you checking the right weight class and look around?

Tried to play my first game online last night and had to disconnect after two minutes in the round. The lag in the game was fuckin horrible. The really weird part was that I was moving around really slow, but my opponent seemed to be perfectly fine.

yes i finished career mode and then they said about retire

Yeah, it's like what Dana is doing with Chuck Liddell, haha. Granted, Chuck lost 4 of his last 5 fights. I guess THQ just really wanted to put a cap on the career. It still annoys me that your fighter doesn't age. I feel like a fucking vampire.

While I freaking hate the cap on the career, honestly if there was no forced retirement, everyone would be 100 at everything and that would make CAF leagues rather boring. Didn't FNR3 have a system where as your CAF got older his stats would diminish, so it was a constant battle of keeping the stats up and knowing when to quit? That seems like it would have been a better option than just forced retirement.

i love the career mode cap, makes the time and effort that much more valuable to get those extra points and moves up. my HW Boxing/BJJ guy has 105 Submission Offense and everything grapple above 80, with 80 speed and cardio. when the losers punch themselves to dark green or less, lock in one of the zillion submission grabs and crank the right stick to victory. only guy i ever have problems with is a good player using Frank Mir.

but i hate the boxing really and will probably remake a MT/BJJ for clinch and ground domination. if your guy is stuck in the " boxing lock " just do jabs while hitting back to back step swing out of range while getting a hit. or shoot the legs, it will bypass the hit and take them almost straight down everytime.

:booty:its just insane that i cant use any own trained fighter online.i made a really cool alien looking dude with 100strenght and 80speed:booty:

No offense, but you sound like you have no clue what you're doing. Any fighter created in career mode is instantly available to use online (assuming you actually saved him as a CAF). There have also been plenty of people to complete the career and could still use their fighter online. You just sound lost.

This is the 360 forum.

In my UFC career I only have probably 2 fights left at the most. I have been the Heavyweight champion and was able to defend it a couple times. But I have found out that I cannot beat Frank Mir.....

I've beaten Kongo twice, Silvia twice, Nog twice, Lesnar twice....but I simply cannot beat fucking Frank Mir. My next fight is trying to win the title again from Mir. It is extremely frustrating when you simply cannot beat someone.

I am looking forward to losing to Mir for a third time.

I finished my LHW champ yesterday. Record of 30-3-1 (the 3 losses were very early on) and I got inducted into the hall of fame (I'm guessing over 100,000 CRED). All 30 of my wins were by KO because I could NEVER sub anyone despite having sub offense as one of my highest stats. I'd try wearing people down with tons of transitions but it never worked. So I missed the achievement for having all medals because I couldn't finish a sub on anyone.

I knocked out Wanderlei 3 times in a row, knocked out Forrest like 6 times, Chuck 4 times, Thiago 3 times, Shogun one time, Rashad 2 times, and Lyoto once that I can remember. Lyoto is really hard for me to fight since he is basically a mirror image of me. I'm all evasive and countering, and the CPU Lyoto just runs backwards and throws high kicks.

Last night I was pumped because I managed to beat my roommate with Mark Coleman vs. his Brandon Vera by a decision of 30-25.

Just wondering what difficulty level yall are playing on? I am something around 13-6 or so on advanced. Hell my girlfriend who never plays games is 4-0 on beginner.

i'm playing it on beginner, just because I'm more interested in building up my CAF's for the CAG UFC league than I am in going through the single player on a harder level..

Beginner for sparring and expert for matches. Expert for sparring makes it really hard in the create a fighter to gain any points.

Speaking of the league though, will you be on later tonight homeland?

i finished advanced career 30-3-1. i don't care at all about online play so i finished up my states with an overall of 95.

Ya I can be. Lets do this! BTW my ground game is abit suspicious. You mind if we just stand up and trade blows for 3 rounds? :D

Hell those are better than some of us who are focusing on online play!
I'm in the midwest and I'll be on about 8pm Central standard time.

Stand up is the weakest part of my game! We'll see :)
Haha, be careful with those "gentleman's agreements" guys. A fight is a fight.

Er, would 9pm Central work instead? My wife made dinner plans that I wasn't entirely aware of.

Haha, be careful with those "gentleman's agreements" guys. A fight is a fight.

Hey I'm not promising anything, but my standing game needs work so I might try to stand just to get some more experience. If I thought I was in trouble, I'll go back to my usual gameplan.

1030 est/930 central would be better. And I was just kidding about the stand up. The league will be around for awhile for us to get plenty of experience in all aspects of the game.

That time works perfect for me. I gotta get more comfortable on my feet sooner or later, I only have one standing KO! I'll never get the flash KO achievement this way.

while my 95 is pretty legit there are strats to wind up with 105 overall stats.

it gets hard to get out of the 70's.

my 95 rating comes as having a 70 or better in every stat and some 80's in subs.

basically i only lost 3-4 sparring rounds throughout my career and i never took a fight on short notice.

your attributes max at 75 to the point where each additional point with reduce the others. so i just was content with 75 in each attribute.
while my 95 is pretty legit there are strats to wind up with 105 overall stats.
Wasn't trying to say that they weren't legit stats at all, just was impressed with the 95 on a higher difficulty level. I brought the difficulty down for sparring because I kept sucking at it and I got a 93.

Those 105's are crazy. I fought one guy that had 70-80+ in every stat, a 96 in strength and over 100 in all the stand up striking stats. Still at 85 and over it's less about stats than skill. I've seen a lot of people with 100+ sub offense and they're easily predictable.

Question: My fighter (4-1) does not seem to have the ability to throw power shots (left bumper + a,b,x, or y) Is that because of the way I created him or does he have to learn that ability...have more strength....what's the deal? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think it comes with leveling up your fighters punching (boxing, kickboxing,mu thai) skills. This is done by going to the special training camps.

I'm pretty frustrated how terrible my online fights are turning out and not just because I'm losing. I've lost 10 straight to 10 different people using to the same technique: Takedown, alternate between pulling back on the right stick and transitioning to full mount, then alternate between pulling back on the right stick and punching into oblivion. Is there sort of strategy to get out of this because that's going to kill online for me if that's the golden strategy for victory.

Honestly, it's really easy to transition from that to both fighters standing, and about 25% less easy to reverse the mount to you being in your opponent's full guard. But if you don't want to deal with bitchassness, try playing some CAGs in player matches.

Block the takedown or stop the transition before full mount. Most people online are really bad at defending takedowns.

Once in full mount on the defensive side, try throwing a shot to their body than quickly do a major transition since they'll probably try to punch you in the face right after and wont be holding the stick. Also, try to tutorial for punch catching from the defensive side, once you get the timing it's pretty easy.

I go for Ground and Pound myself.

Edit: If you want to learn to avoid the ground and pound, turn the difficulty up to expert and play against Tito Ortiz. He spams takedowns and moves to mount on expert.

I'm just starting to play online 4-4 so far (would be 5-4 but just had my first disconnect) and I'm solely using my CAF. I like the idea i'm playing with a character that I created and grew. Curious how others play online. Caf only. Real fighters only. A mix?
Whats the best way to get out of the online peeps who freeze you up with multiple shots to the gut?
Flick the right joystick down. That will reverse into the clinch. I find one thing that works is after you clinch like that, click the left joystick. That will push them away. Follow it up with a superman punch or a head kick.

To homeland, I've been mostly using my CAF because after the career mode I'm more comfortable knowing my strengths and weaknesses. Getting submissions online is a pain because people have even longer to disconnect. Other than my loss to you my only other loss was playing as Diego Sanchez, who I'd never played as before.

Just got the game yesterday, surprisingly hard to find. It was sold out at two gamestops, target, and best buy; I ended up picking up a copy at Toys R Us. Anyways, great game so far. Umm, haven't played online yet but for good reason, trying to get some skill before having my ass handed to me.

Down on the right analog, catch the punch and go into clinch.

So I went 16-1 online with my CAF, and then I finally started facing some competition. I've gone about 15-6 since then so still pretty decent. However, in my first 17 matches (when I was 16-1), I never ran into a quitter. Now all of a sudden I've had two quitters in a row plus a couple other in my 15-6 span. It's so frustrating to fight a good fight and then have it ruined by a bunch of bitches that run off so they don't screw up their record. It's bullshit!

Join the Crowd. :p

rented this Wednesday but finally took it online last night. Had 10 fights, had 10 fights that had some serious lag (be it stuttering or be it like moving in molasses). Figured at least one fight would be decent but damn, that shit was bad. And before anyone asks, I joined the matches which showed a full green bar.
Is it reasonable to think that I could do a career on the lowest difficulty to get a better rating?
Yeah, that's probably what you should do. Even then, there are certain aspects of the career that you won't figure out the first go around. Expect to feel a desire to start over after about year 2. This is what many of us did once we learned how to utilize the training/sparring/camps/sponsors in the career properly.
