UFC 2009: Undisputed - General Discussion and Info - Releases 5/19
The other thing is.....fuck can there be any more loading/saving/cut screens. This game looks pretty good but not good enough to warrant a load for simple menus. Career mode seems to require you to press A like 20 times before going into a match.

Other than that....I am liking this game a lot and it will sure hold me over for a while.
This 100%.

I'm sorry but I gotta rant. THIS IS HORSESHIT. I literally just beat out a Level 100. As soon as he tapped what does he do? He quits. I'm so pist off. That would have been a hell of alot of points. I just thought I'd rant. If you guys EVER come across BRAINDEAN on xbox live. Avoid him. He is a level 100 and quits non stop. Maybe we should start posting names up in the first page of people to avoid who are high ranked.

Perhaps its because i've never gotten beaten so many times in my life in any game but i've actually never had someone quit the times i have won. Is it a serious problem?

I dont even play online and I know for a fact that its the biggest problem in the game. Dash bumping is all the rage in this game because people take their virtually char too seriously.

This is why I avoid playing games like this online. No point playing when the only when you are going to only finish 10% of your matches because people are going to be quitting like a mother. I hate that their is online cheese.......bah.

For me it's about one every three fights. Especially if I submit someone.
For me it's about one every three fights. Especially if I submit someone.
Ditto. The best is literally when you beat a level 100 and they can't take the loss and quit. OR another good example is when you are beating a Glitcher that has there fighter at an Overall of 115. You beat them and they either A:quit out as soon as they are gonna tap or B: Send you a message saying how fucking lucky you are and it wont happen again. So they send you a game invite and you repeat and beat them and it's just a infinite loop. I send the quitters a message now saying "I can't wait till June 13 so that people like your self will get a loss for quitting."

I'm going online later tonight with my first (and so far only) created character. I'll probably get crushed in every game but I won't quit! CJACKN1 - I'll be racing my way to be the very bottom of the leader boards! lol.

Played like 60 fights total and around 10 have quit on me.

What I've noticed is that anyone over a 5 win streak that are losing will quit. They get a hate message afterwards.
Also, over the weekend I had a fuckin' debut fighter quit on me as they were rocked and was going to finish it. Seriously.
How do i slam people, my friend did it to me and i was baffled.
Most of slams that i've seen have been from fighters with Wrestling as their grapple.
How do i slam people, my friend did it to me and i was baffled.
Wrestler, grab them and then LB and move the RS right, left, down, or up. Apparently when I play ranked, people dont like it too much cause that's what I do alot. I always get a hate message afterwards "Learn how to play" or some gay shit like that. Sad that it becomes predictable that they are going to come out swinging with high kicks and punches.

I love using the heavyweight just for the fact that most people pick Brock Lesnar and I love using somebody who can take him down easily :D

Man, this game is 100% better with the stamina bar on. Either it doesnt have enough or I am just not seeing the visual cues for when my player is tired or what not. I was wonder why I would just get all my transition blocked over and over. With the bars on at least I can tell when I am suppose to do things.

But that is just me.

Any suggestions to get into the Hall of Fame in Career? I've retired two career characters now and no love. I also can't seem to get passed a 6 win streak. The ever elusive 10 win...so close.

Go undefeated in Career Mode. That's how I got in.

Not a fan of the stamina bar here, I usually take the cue when he is moving super slow, breathing heavy and his hands are down, but that is just me I guess

Bah. That'll take some effort for me. #-o

I personally hate the stamina bar. I'm not sure what to tell you since the cues for a fatigued fighter really can't be more obvious. :whee:

Well the cues dont show when you are on the ground. I spend most of the time rolling around on the mat and my guy looks about the same each and every time.

But it also could be that I am always holding block as I walk around so I would ever see his arms down.

Yeah, that's my problem. I wish there were better cues on the ground.

Yeah, you just kinda have to know if you have been spending tons of energy trying to transition/ground and pound, and then kind of tone it down for a little bit.

On the feet though if you are blocking, you should still kind of notice your fighter not moving like they do when they have a decent amount of stamina.

Like most things in this game, the more you play the easier it becomes.

So, I'm beating the CPU routinely in the 1st round on expert, but based on my .500-ish record in player matches versus a select 4-5 opponents, I'm worried about how I'll do in ranked once I try it.

I wouldn't worry. Most people aren't very good online.

Feel free to send me an invite if you want a player match

I know. Just look at my record. I'm getting close to the Black Belt achievement. I got alot of messages saying "Your alot better than your record" which made me proud. BUT I'll say this Matt, If you come up against somebody with some sort of win streak on ranked. Don't even play cause about 99% of the time they will quit out when losing.

I've had new players quit on me. Level 3, poor record quit on me. Its been my experience, if you submit someone they will quit.

Some douche "Legs of Steel" badmouthed my mother for two rounds then quit when I put him in an arm bar. All the cool kids are doing it. :applause:

Can't wait till June 13th honestly. That will teach them all. Sadly enough I have about 51 submissions and MAYBE 15 (t)ko's. I come across good players and the shit players. It's funny how you can tell your gonna make them submit cause they come out swinging and won't stop. But once you take them and put that submission on them...oh noes! CHEATING! Little bitches. All Of em that quit.

No, you don't have 15 KO's. I was surprised that you had the 50 win achievement but not the 15 KO/TKO achievement when I looked earlier.

So I had a ranked match as Nate Diaz vs MrM203 as BJ Penn. OK match and fairly equally matched with nobody really gaining the upper hand, but halfway through the second round, the connection lagged while we were circling and we both got disconnected.

About a minute later, I get the message: "MORAL VICTORY U HAVE NO HONOR"

Sad that even an innocent connection failure gets accused of rage quitting.

I do have 15 (T)KO's cause I was going for that Achievement and once I hit 15 I was like, WTF? But nope, no achievement. I'm guesing they want you to get KO's (I'm guessing Flash KO's) and not TKO's which I get alot of.

Has anyone made a Judo guy in a career yet? I'm asking because after 15 fights with my Kickboxing/Judo guy I am 10-5 (on advanced btw) and am really struggling with the Judo throws. I have tried throwing people from the clinch, am successful about 1/2 the time. But what pisses me off is the CPU's reversals of Judo throws. They reverse my throws DIRECTLY into a rear-naked choke, and I get subbed quickly. It is just so ridiculous how easy they can reverse directly to a sub and tap me out. Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't had a problem with people quitting who are on win streaks, but the submission thing is a huge problem for me. I've been trying to get the 15 sub achievement and I'm up to 9. I'd have more than 20 but once I get someone into the second part of the animation it's 'synchronizing- connection error'

Just got red belt. People in the 40's are much better but there's still a really high d/c rate, which is sad because the fights were really close sometimes.

I don't know if anybody else does it, but I've just now found I can do feint attacks by tapping a block during an LB attack to interrupt the animation in the first few frames. What I do is LB attack, then quickly hold down the RB to high block to stop the animation before the attack fully comes out. Then I can step back, attempt a takedown or hit with another attack.

It looks really awesome with boxing (LB+X -> RB interrupt -> LB+Y looks awesome as hell when it hits or knocks down. DEMPSEY ROLL!). Kickboxing (High Kick -> RB -> Superman Punch or vice versa, also Superman Punch -> RB -> Torso Kick) looks good too, but it leaves me wide open when I'm too far out and inadvertently interrupt a spinning back fist. Muay Thai is pretty horrible for interrupts so far since I haven't found a good initial feint with the style. I can step in with a feint knee, but there is too much downtime before I can attack for it to be effective.

I'm playing around with it and I've added it to the things I do online. I don't know how effective it can be against people swinging for the fences, but I figure it can seriously mess with people looking for a counterstrike or counter-grapple.

Ya that was discovered in the demo. Still to deep for me to master. But definetely nice skill to have.

From my part, I have yet to have somebody with a 20 win streak, 15 win streak ACTUALLY go the whole match and take the loss. But I'm only at level 44 or 45 I think. I just can't wait for the damn patch to see what my Record truly is cause of the fucking quiters.

You know, I really wish they would have put more than just sparring in the game for a mini game. To be honest I am getting kinda bored with just sparring. Camp invites are pretty good though.

I got to 20 wins and lost my next fight. Getting to level 50 was a pain though because it started becoming 50-50 quitters. I need like one more fight to get to 50, and it took three more fights just to get someone who doesn't quit.

I think people at the higher levels quit not because of win streak, but because they lose experience points and go down levels. At least I hope that's why, I had folks with 40+ losses still quitting on me, and I can't believe it's because they want to protect their record.

But yeah, can't wait for the patch.

If you lose to somebody who is the same level as you and you can still get some awards, the most points you can drop is about 20. I know one time It was me (40) vs somebody else (42) and I lost and I only dropped about 4 points cause I had some medals for the fight. If I lose, I lose. I won't quit out like a bitch cause it takes points away. I'll just gladly wait for the next fight and gain them back anyways.
What is the patch on the 13th supposed to do?
The supposed patch would fix lag and disconnect issues online. Disconnecting would result in a loss to help deter the plague of people quitting to preserve their records. A possibility of a online record wipe also exists.

I haven't heard anything official, so I'll believe it if it shows up on the 13th.

is there a an update scheduled? the lag kills the game for me. Using your brain helps out so much in this game since i can actually enjoy it on ps3, xbox is soo laggy

Edit-Im An idiot, lol

I gotta throw this out there. Who else feels AWESOME when they beat somebody who has an Overall rating of 115? I know I sure as hell love it. Just beat a couple of people who were 115 and gas'd them selves pretty badly. I love it.

Thats right you bitch $$$$as you better run from Cro Cops legs.

I am a level fucking 4 and have had like 4 quits already from people who are at level like 40 +. The fact the game matches me up with these guys is a different story but god damn. Just because you are tossing out punches left and right and using all your stamina you dash quit when I snipe your ass with Cro Cops high kicks.

Pussies. Its just a game.

On another note. I simply do not like the submission system in this game. (note I said do not like not do not understand...I admit I am not great) I have got out of my fair share of subs but I still feel that its simply to easy to start a sub. A simply button click? I was hoping for sometime more skillful than button mashing and stick rotation.

Also, I got sub 3 times already from people who had zero stamina. How does this happen? I had Cro Cop and I lost this way against a CAF, and Frank Mir twice. I dont get it. If they have no stamina, and I have half what else am I suppose to do?
I take the button mashing apporach to get out of subs by the way.

I have played only as Cro Cop who I think is only a 83 overall. Beating most of these CAF and Frank Mirs and 90+ bums is very nice.

That is what this game does well...makes you feel like you are earning a victory. Other than the sub system which I really hate.

Since CroCop doesn't have very good submission defense, when someone like Mir gets you in a sub. it isn't going to make much of a difference what their stamina is like. You just have to try as hard as possible to not get involved in a sub. attempt with Mir.
