Mark Yeaton, timekeeper extraordinaire, was among the WWE cuts.
Seriously? They cut the mother friggin timekeeper? This is madness....... How the fuck will we know how long the matches are without the almighty timekeeper? I guess now matches will no longer have a time limit due to this necessary cutback.

Thank GOD the Sting/Flair title match from the very first Clash of the Champions <which can be seen at any time for only 9.99 a month on the WWE Network> happened when it did. To think, if there were no timekeeprs those two would still be wrestling each other today....

I disagree. Moving to Thursday nights would be nothing but good for most of the year, Friday night is the second worst tv night of the week behind Saturdays. The only time when Thursday night will be worse than Friday night is during football season, but since they already deal with that on Mondays I don't think it will disuade them too much.
big bang and other crap on cbs might put a dint in it. really dont matter to me since we no longer get the smackdown channel

BREAKING NEWS: Alberto Del Rio has been released following an altercation with an employee.

WWE announced the release of Alberto Del Rio due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.

It had to be something serious. There have been fights backstage, but they rarely, if ever, released someone. They were short and to the point with the announcement. No best in his future endeavors or anything.

I guess Zeb was finally able to deport Mexico's Greatest Export... I know he's currently a face, but I so hope he declares victory for Del Rio's departure. In all seriousness, I do wonder what happened. I know they're in a budget crunch, but they usually don't fire someone for getting into a fight.

Del RIo's last match was on Main Event on Tuesday.

My favorite Del Rio moment was when he ran over Santa.

It's being rumored(not confirmed) that he was slapping a employee that works for WWE's social media department backstage at a recent tv taping.  He's also been telling people that he's done with WWE when his contract expires this year to go back to wrestling in Mexico.  So he might just be fed up with WWE's crap(especially with the low pay bonuses).

Although it was pointed out that usually when they fire or release someone, WWE will mention their real name in the news bit on their site.  But Del Rio's story is actually missing that part.  So it might actually be a work.

I hope he kicked the shit out of the Miz finally. I know he has said in the past how much he hates the Miz. Fingers crossed!
As much as I dislike Del Rio, I hope he kicked the shit out of Miz too.

Maybe this means they can move Sandow up to winning a match this year.

They didnt do anything to him for taking all those liberties with Botch-Cara, so if it was for doing something to an off air personality it must have been something really bad.

But don't worry kids! You can still enjoy tons of Alberto Del Rio's matches by getting the WWE Network for only 9.99 a month!

1 month delay for RAW/Smackdowns, so October will be Del Rio Month.

Very weird how Del Rio's speech on Main Event this week sounded like it was his last match with the company which it did ended up being.

"Del Rio was let go for slapping Randy Orton because Randy was shooting up with a needle in the dressing room while snorting crack"

I guess Vince got off the juice.

"Details are still sketchy regarding Thursday's firing of Al Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) by WWE.

The story going around is that he slapped a a Social Media manager, at this week's television, but there are a variety of different stories going around regarding what led to this.

Based on sketchy stories and what wrestlers have been talking about, at catering, somebody asked the person to clean off his plate.  The person joked something along the lines of how that's Del Rio's job.  Del Rio found out and confronted him.  As the story goes, he  didn't apologize and then smiled at him, and Del Rio slapped him.

The belief is he will have a 90 day non-compete, which is likely to apply to TNA and AAA, both of which have interest in him. AAA would certainly be interested in him for the company's U.S. expansion."

I think the Santa moment made my Dad really pissed I convinced him to leave the TV on wrestling when I was home for Christmas that year b/c there was nothing else on at the time, no NBA, etc.

Then had to explain to the whole family looking at me in a "why do you watch this" look on their faces how WWE in the last few years had started chasing the kids market so Linda wouldn't look as bad running twice for US Senator.

If that is true then it sounds like the social media guy should have been fired, and deserved to be slapped. A wrestler being fired for slapping someone.. ugh, what has this world come to?

I am guessing this has more to do with the cost cutting measures, all they needed was any small excuse from any non HHH guy to let them go. I wont miss him, but still stupid.

If everything reported so far is true (har har) then it looks like it was win-win. Guy who made the comment got slapped, and Del Rio gets out of the company he wanted out of.

Christmas came early this year with this news... and it's a huge win-win-win for everyone, really. Good riddance. He was stale, boring, and had nothing else to do with his character. I've heard he was a total douche behind the scenes to boot.

The one thing I loved that he did(besides running his car into Santa) was his matches with the original Sin Cara.  I know it was due to issues they had in mexico.  But I just loved that he took some liberties beating the hell out of that botcher in those matches.

As for the Cena gear, I guess they're ignoring that he debuted in 2002 and just going with his rapper gimmick in 2003?  Since it says 11 years on the t-shirt.

Just bought tickets for my wife and I to attend Monday Night Raw in Portland Oregon on the 11th. Haven't been to a live show for awhile, hopefully it will be fun. Anyone happen to know if they still sell replica belts at live events?

Also: I'm bringing a sign to the event; anyone have suggestions what I should have it say in case I'm shown on camera?
The replica belts are currently 20% off on WWEShop, just FYI.

Loved the opening bit with Dean and Seth - particularly Dean's wacky stips and him saying Mr. MITB will go broke. Henry and Show squashing Rybaxel was amusing, while Sin Cara-Mr. Border Patrol was wacky. Seth-Dolph was Dolph's best match since his push was killed dead over a year ago. Paige-Nattie was short and fun. Big E-Rusev was a match. Dean-Orton was really good and I was pleasantly surprised to see Dean get a (DQ) win. Good main events for the first and second hour - rest was just stuff.

In case you missed it, WWE's Twitter account put out some pretty harsh things about Del Rio today:

.@VivaDelRio is responsible for his own actions. If you’re angry at anyone, be angry at Alberto. There’s no excuse for a pro athlete not to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Either

A.) This is a brilliant work designed to get people interested in Del Rio again (which is partially backfiring, a lot of people seem happy that he's gone because he's been stagnant for years and has been crowding the main event scene)

or

B.) The guy he slapped runs the WWE Twitter account and the dude's legit pissed.

I have no idea which way to lean. I don't think a company of WWE's size would be that unprofessional on Twitter, but then again, they've had some pretty bad PR blunders. If it's a work, I'm all in for the ride, but I think the guy running WWE's Twitter account is legit pissed.

I'm the man who just created option C.

C) Personally, I don't give a crap either way.

How come, the people in charge of "social media" seem the most ill equipped to interact with the fans? I can totally believe that the WWE's social media person said something borderline racist to Del Rio and while slapping him was not the most professional thing to do, fuck that guy because he was probably asking for a beat down anyways.

The G1 Climax show was amazing. Loved the surprise appearance by Jeff Jarrett, which he telegraphed online a bit. Wasn't expecting the return of Scott D'Amore though. LOLed at the sight of Jeff having a guitar brought to a formal meeting.
