Of the 3 main podcasters, I'd rate them: Austin > Jericho > Ross

Some other good podcasts I'd recommend are:

Attitude Era Podcast - 3 guys who rewatch all the ppv's (in order) during the Attitude Era and they are hilarious. They also sprinkle in special episodes here and there with stuff like Bash at the Beach 2000 (the one where Russo shoots on Hogan), Starcade 97, the UK WWF ppvs, etc. If you like this, I highly suggest the spinoff podcast called Cinema Swirl. One of the guys joins another guy and the schtick is that one of the guys has gone his entire life without seeing any of the "must see movies" and they give you their thoughts as he watches it. They just started it and so far have reviewed Star Wars A New Hope, Terminator 2, and Back to the Future.

Live Audio Wrestling - They have a show almost every day with different hosts recapping and giving their thoughts on Raw, NXT, Impact, and the ppv's. The best ones imo are anything with John Pollock and Wai Ting (they review Raw, Impact, and every Wednesday have a "Review-A-Wai" show where they review a lot of things from the past includin old ppv's, documentaries, even obscure stuff like CZW and Chyna's porno...).

Major League Wrestilng - The only good show that they have on here is Talk and Shop. It's hosted by Karl Anderson and Rocky Romero and they are absolutely hilarious. If you watch NJPW, then you'll get more out of it but they're still entertaining if you dont follow the product. They also have Jim Cornette's podcast on here but he's really hit and miss.
Thanks for the info, I'll check them out, that Attitude Era one sounds great.

Adam Pearce Tells a Sean O'Haire story.
In 1999, I was in Atlanta, Georgia for my first tryout with WCW. What no one knew was that I went into it with a decimated left shoulder (I had partial reconstructive surgery the following year, which explains the big scar that I wear to this day). I really shouldn't have even been there with the injury.

As part of my evaluation, I was tasked by Paul Orndorff and company with wrestling opposite Sean O'Haire in an amateur-style match. As we were set to begin, I secretly said to him, "Please watch my left shoulder, it's gone."

With everyone watching, he didn't say a word. He simply looked me in the eye, and nodded a subtle "yes" in response.

We had our "match", which I put in quotes because at any point he could've yanked on my arm and exposed me, which would've showed everyone that I was hurt. If he chose to he could've easily embarrassed me physically. He didn't.

Instead, he worked with me. He took care of me, never touching my left arm, and really served to help me look better than I should have. And even though I ended up not signing WCW's contract, I have never ever forgotten what he did.

Godspeed, Sean O'Haire. Thank you again, and rest in peace.

The local police are saying he hung himself. It's sad he felt like he had to go out like that.

I've said here before about how much I liked the Natural Born Thrillers, and O'Haire was a large part of that. He wasn't the best technically, but he was amazingly athletic and exciting to watch. He pulled off the swanton better than Jeff Hardy ever did. He was one of the few bright spots for me in the last eight or nine months of WCW. RIP.

The color guard ceremony was fantastic - shame a guy yelled CM PUNK to start it. Melendez's debut match really couldn't have gone better. They got over the psychology of his matches by having Ion attack the good leg, and showed off how much he can do in a short time. He's got something, and this was impressive. MVP's promo on Roode was very good - shame Roode's barber killed him with that mohawk. The six-man tag was fun, but nothing special. I loved Lashley's floatover snap suplex and taking a flip bump FOR HIS OWN SPEAR. Wacky 6-person tag was a fine showcase for Velvet's ass, Rebel's ass, Knux's dive, and Taz and Tenay being wacky on commentary. The EC3-Rhino match was an excellent way to get EC3's key moves over, while the back welts got him over as tougher than the character appears on the surface. It's nowhere near Orton-Foley, but a step in that direction. KOs calendar was a fine setup to Havok killing people, and presumably leading to Havok-Gail at BFG. The Revolution/Tajiri-Aries match was fun, but hurt by a lack of interesting things. Tajiri can move better than he looks though. The 3-way tag team tables match was good-ish, but hurt by so many guys being out there and not having much to do. The lack of split-screen also hurt things. The finishing swanton looked great, and the ladder match should be crazy. No Surrender next week looks like a fantastic show on paper.

Yes.

Every man's heart one day beats its final beat, his lungs breathe their final breath and if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something larger than life, then his essence, his spirit will be immortalized in the CAG Wrestling Thread.

Lucha Dragons (Sin Cara and Kalisto) vs The Ascension (Konner and Viktor)
New Tag Team Champions: Lucha Dragons!

Very good first match. Both teams have very different styles, but I think they brought out the best out of each other.
After The Ascension's debut on Main Event, I think this was a decent way for them to go out assuming they're going straight to the main roster. Given their respective ages, it's now or never.

Match 2: Squash match

At this point I think Charlotte has a bigger moveset than every other woman on the roster combined.

Why bother even announce him as KENTA if you are just going to change his name anyways? Hyping him as this huge international star, only to change his name is pretty nonsensical. Maybe that is why Sting doesnt want to sign with WWE, he doesnt want to have to change his name to Terry Fleihr after his two role models.

I think it was handled better than it has been in the past with him getting to introduce it himself.

There's no way Vince doesn't just short it to Itami after 2 weeks on Raw though.  The first time an announcer calls him Hideotami it's fucking over.

I'm still hopeful that the NXT crowd will keep chanting Kenta despite the change and they'll reconsider. They did during the end of the segment after the name change, so we'll see.

I could think of worse names than Hideo Itami, frankly. C'mon people, it ain't that bad.
Thats not the point I am making, I am wondering why even bother promote him as international superstar KENTA, if youre just going to give him some random name?

On the topic of Kenta, has there ever been a wrestler to be given this fan fair with the special announcements or press conferences announcing the signing? Everyone I can think of bombed. Tiger Ali Singh, Great Sasuke, Brian Pillman, Sin Cara all got these "look who we signed!" packages and then they all flopped in WWE for one reason or another. I hope KENTA becomes the exception.

Because it got the Japanese fans excited. That's why he cut a promo in Japanese as well. I was surprised he didn't get booed out of the building. Fans have been conditioned to boo at any foreign language for such a long time it felt like they didn't know how to react.

It's not that it's bad but if they're going to change anyone's name "not that bad" just isn't a good enough standard. If it's not better than the original than it shouldn't be done. WWE has a huge failure rate when changing the names of incoming wrestlers. KENTA is a ready-to-go name. It's easy to pronounce, easy to chant, easy to market. Plus it's already just one name, which wrestling companies have a tendency to do with some wrestlers anyway.

NXT Takeover: Fatal 4 Way thoughts -

Loved seeing the Ascension lose the titles, but the rest of the first hour was a bunch of nothing outside of KENTA's fantastic debut. I like how WWE did this - he came out as KENTA, was hyped beforehand as KENTA, so they're bringing up his history, but giving him a new name. Hideo Itami is a pretty good name, although I think it will be shortened to ITAMI soon enough. That would be just about perfect for a comprimise, since you'd get the KENTA styling, but with a name WWE owns. I loved his theme, tron, promo, and the fire he showed was crazy. I wonder who teams with him against the Ascension as they teased Regal, but he just became GM. Hour two ruled though, with Bayley-Charlotte having me on the edge of my seat since I so wanted Bayley to win. She got a new theme, sweet new entrance gear and STILL LOST! The main event started off rocky, but became something special. Sami was just SO CRUSHED by what happened. Neville's his best friend and Neville took him out on the floor after preventing him from winning, and then basically stole the win. Character-wise, Neville gained something by being a bit heelish, whlie Sami could fully turn heel and it would be completely justified because of how he was wronged.

SD  thoughts -

8-man tag was fun. LOVED LOVED LOVED Bo-Gabriel. The commentators just had tons of fun here, and I chuckled at JBL referring to Swagger as Biff. Half the match being on the mic, as JBL said, was a bit different too. The AJ-Paige feud continued nicely with them stealing each other's moves. AJ wore her wedding ring on commentary. The Henry-Rusev arm wrestling thing was long, but really good. Unlike Raw, they had a lot of little things here to keep your attention and the commentators took it seriously instead of just making a mockery out of everything in it. The stunt double tag was shockingly good. Truth was fantastic with Dolph, and the commentary was incredibly entertaining tonight. JBL was just on fire being silly the whole night, and was in rare form with the goofy tag match. Paige stole the show with her backstage promo, and the main event was perfectly fine, but nothing too special. Jericho pinning Orton clean should've been played up seriously, but I doubt it will get more than a passing mention on Raw.

Really need to watch NXT more. The PPV was fantastic. Enzo Amore needs more mic time. If and when he gets called up, I really hope that they don't screw up his character with scripted promos and the such, but I know they will.

Also, agree with Kenta's name change. I don't understand the point. The only thing I can think of is that there was a dispute on what would happen to him using his name elsewhere if he were to be let go, Vince saying that they own the Kenta name and he couldn't use it, so Kenta asked for an alternate name.

I think that, generally, if you already had the name when you came to WWE, it's yours. If not, then WWE owns it. One of the exceptions I can think of is the Dudleys, whose name was supposedly included when Vince acquired ECW. There has been some disagreement over that, though.

I think this is the case. it's all about trademarks and $$$.

I agree, this is really my first time seeing Enzo Amore and he cracked me up when on the mic. Funny guy.

Enzo's just a fountain of charisma - he's not much of a worker, but I could see him getting over huge as a Road Dogg-esque guy on the roster. He'll be valuable in the mid-card and as a main eventer's mouthpiece later on too - like MVP now that he's basically a manager first and a worker second.

That guy is suffering from previously unheard of amounts of butthurt imo.  I don't see how Taker really ever held anyone back all that much seeing as how he was never really THE top guy in the company at any point in his career.

"The Derek Jeter of Wrestling" ....as an insult.  Okay.

There's been some low points - Whippleman's Big Man of the Week, DDP and Kronik feuds, the Heyman/Dudley Boyz crap come to mind.

He was only "The Guy" when they were between the newest iteration of "The Guy" and he worked well with damn near all of them.

His thoughts on Foley are pretty bizarre because those beatings did way more to get Mick over than they did Taker.

I am admittedly a huge Undertaker fan but this was an interesting read and the guy actually made sense in some points:

http://www.cagesideseats.com/2014/9/11/6137653/why-you-should-apparently-hate-the-undertaker
Sorry, but the guy who wrote that is an idiot. I'm just a few paragraphs in and he's already talking about how he "didn't pay his dues" - after getting the shit kicked out of him by Brody in his FIRST MATCH, then slumming it for years in Texas and Memphis before getting a half-heated push in WCW. This guy talks like he walked in it out of nowhere and was given a main event posh. Bullshit.

He then says Mankind was what defined The Undertaker and made the fans finally get behind him. Bullshit. Undertaker was one of the most popular guys on the roster from the moment he originally turned face and was easily the number two or three good guy on the roster at all times prior to Foley's arrival.

He then says Mankind was treated like a jobber in the original Undertaker feud. Bullshit. Undertaker had basically no sold everything from everybody - including the entire heel roster in that casket match - until Foley came along and not only did damage to him, but flat out beat him back to back to back, which pretty much no one had ever done since his face turn 4 years earlier. Undertaker finally beat him at their Survivor Series match, but that's easily the most forgettable of their feud.

I stopped reading there. What a dipshit.

I am not saying everything he said was on point at all. The article was definitely laced with some butthurt, especially about the Mankind jobbing part. That was the only feud where Taker ever looked vulnerable and that to me, was Taker's best storyline even if the Hell in the Cell heave never happened.

I just found it as in interesting read from an anti-taker standpoint since he is so beloved and how things can be perceived differently by different fans wrestling.

Anyway I did find this list of articles that I have been reading as well, a lot of the stuff I totally forgot about:

http://www.cagesideseats.com/2014/9/9/6000835/historically-significant-disasters-of-wrestling-29-the-cactus-jack

The whole list of articles are at the bottom and honestly I totally forgot about of the points referenced. It's nothing groundbreaking but pretty good way to kill some time and its from a real writer this time, not a rant from a guys facebook lol.
