Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - (use spoiler tags please)

as far as new weapons go you should be able to use a knife and definetly aim and throw one. it would be fun to use for stealth attacks but i dont know how itd work face to face. yeah i could see elena dying one she wouldnt be happy sitting at home waiting for him to come back from wherever he is and if she wasnt there youd have more drake and sully which most people like alot. wouldnt have minded seeing that new chick die too man she was annoying.

off topic
the one game i always wanted to be set in the future is the legend of zelda.
Ooooo Egypt would be awesome! Something in America would be cool too. Or if somehow they could go back in time to one of the pyramid building periods in Egypt, like Drake's ancestor, and you play as the ancestor in the past and Drake in the present. Maybe not the whole game 50/50 but like 30 past/70 present. What you do as the ancestor directly impacts the present game. As the ancestor you would be framed and have to fight off all the people building the pyramids.
You ever play Eternal Darkness?
 They must not kill Elena! Why would he shave his hair?
You guys started to get into it a little but here's another question. Other than story, what kind of ideas do you have in terms of gameplay for U3? I posted this a few days back but here it is again:
In terms of weapon play, maybe they could add the ability to hold 3 guns at a time &/or have 2 different types of grenades. Maybe a weapon that shoots out multiple grenades in an area. Some new melee combat system, maybe 2/3 different types of evade buttons to have to deal with based on the type of attack. It would be cool if you could upgrade/customize the weapons too. And yes I still want droid Sully.
Some good ideas, especially a more fleshed out melee system, no Robocop Sully please.

Played only very beginning of ED, need to play it. Without spoiling it, why do you ask?

I think you're right, I haven't played Max Payne.

For droid Sully I was thinking the bottom half of him is robotic from the waist down, so he can run really fast and very powerful jumping and kicking. And he could make jokes all the time about not being able to have sex anymore. Something like this minus the yellow & Honda, just imagine Sully up top instead of this guy:

Knives would be cool lokizz.
I'm heavily engulfed in U2's multiplayer right now. I'm at level 43.
Sounds more like you're completely consumed by it. ;-)

Just beat the game and it's been an absolute roller coaster ride. My wife enjoyed watching immensely, getting very emotionally involved (especially when I died).

Can't wait to do the Crushing run-through.
The
train part
is annoying as fuck on Crushing.
I cant beat that "boss" dude on the train at the end. I have no nades and 6 pistole bullets
Played only very beginning of ED, need to play it. Without spoiling it, why do you ask?

I think you're right, I haven't played Max Payne.
ED is an amazing game. Awesome experience and the game can be played with three different options for the mechanics of the game. Reason I asked is because you play as the main character and as other characters in flashbacks which tell the back story all of which ties together very well and makes for good varied play all the way through.

Max Payne is another of my favorite series, maybe most favorite. You should play ED and MP1 and 2.
I cant beat that "boss" dude on the train at the end. I have no nades and 6 pistole bullets
See if you can go back around the last train cars and pick a rifle.
If not what I did was to take cover at the first bench on the right and grab the m4, unload into him, then toss a grenade while he's reeling. He should try to toss a grenade and you need to shoot him so he drops it and it blows up by him. Then unload into him as he closes. You have to defeat him in a melee QTE. This should weaken him enough to where the triangle pops up when he grabs you and you can pull a reverse on him. I think it won't pop up if you haven't weakened him enough and you can't reverse. At least that's the way it seemed to me. See if you can get to the grenade that is by where he starts and get back to cover without getting killed or jump that cover and reverse sides of the car with him.

Thanks dude. Totally forgot you had to beat him in QTE. So after one nade thrown by me, and one dropped by him, I should let him grab me and go for reversal?

I hated that part. Died a million times. You can weaken him with grenades and machine gun fire, but you must kill him using punches.

I hated that part as that was the only QTE that felt forced on me. If I had enough ammo to dispose of him, why should I have to bother killing him via QTE only?

I was able to defeat him on Crushing without having to go through multiple QTEs.
M4, nades, and pistol(only if you run out of M4 ammo) should be good enough. I hid behind one of the walls just inside of the entrance (not the bench) and unloaded a bit of M4 fire on him as well as a couple of nades. Whenever he threw his nades, I rolled over to the other wall and repeated. If you have good aim, he should be weakened enough before he reaches the walls and you can finish him off with just that final QTE.

question about cinema mode. does protecting a video of a game you played keep it from being overwritten? also will uploading a video also save your game?

Yes, it won't be lost if you protect it. And if you upload it, it'll be saved on NDs website for you too look at & share, I think....

good to know thanks for the help.
Yeah man, it's a must own, gotta buy it. Did you even get to try the multiplayer?
Sadly, I didn't have time to try the MP.
Sadly, I didn't have time to try the MP.
muitplayer is where its at. the sp game was fun and all but i cant lie all i could think about was finishing it so i could get back to the mp. its different than most because you really have to be wary of your surroundings cause death comes from every damn direction.

and its fun to hear people curse you for kicking their asses. people can be cheap though but if you think outside the box you can come up with interesting ways to deal out punishment.

Just finished the game last night, and man, such an amazing games. Replaces Batman as my game of the year so far.

My favorite part has to be the ending cut scene. So many great lines and interactions in it and such a great way to end the game and bring closure. In fact, all the cut scenes are amazing and ND should make an animated movie. :)

There were so many amazing action sequences, including the
Train
,
Siege
, and finally a worthy end boss in the game. Plus, I thought the
guardians
are much better than the first.

Although, I was upset that I never got to hear Kitty Got Wet. :(
Although, I was upset that I never got to hear Kitty Got Wet. :(
I heard it several times, but it drove me mad because I thought I was missing some movie reference. Turns out it was just some lame story about the VA's son.

I loved the line in the city which is a reference to the previous game
"Hmmm lights go out no sign of the girl, I hope there's not a zombie around this corner."

Struggling to beat the Tank section on crushing. I should have done my crushing playthrough right after I beat it, since I cant remember what to do. Any help? I can get to the part where the tank blows up the wall behind me and then appears right in front of me, I cant figure out where to go without dying...

They made an animated comic book. The first episode is free on PSN & the next episode(s) will contain something for U2.

is there any word on what the something for u2 is and how much the episode will be? i wouldnt be surprised if its a character skin or something.

They are also coming out with an Uncharted Pinball Game for PSP. http://psp.nowgamer.com/news/1682/uncharted-pinball-coming-to-psp

The Eye of Indra motion comic pack will cost $2.50 for the final 3 episodes. Not 100% sure if that $2.50 is for all 3 or each, sounds like all 3 though. Don't know what the bonus will be.

Got my Platinum last night. Crushing was really annoying. A few parts gave me a lot problems, such as
the train, tank, and the last boss. The last boss took me over an hour to finally beat. His shotgun seemed a lot more lethal and could shoot from far away. I was basically dead in two quick hits each time because he ran so damn fast after me.
I'm glad I'm done with the game. I'm all Ucharted out.

Just finished the game! I enjoyed it... but I don't think I'm going to bother trying to go back through it. Going back for some more Sacred Jewel Shard Searching in Infamous. Now I'm off to play Batman Arkham Asylum... This game is amazing, the single player and online modes are great.

At first I wasn't big on the MP, but once I started learning where the weapons are located and playing it more & more while leveling up, it's awesome now. Tons of fun.

Dunno, just been playing Death Match over & over. So much fun I haven't touched anything else. I guess hope for another bonus earnings promo.
A few of my fellow CAG friends say DeathMatch.
not once you get up to level 40 then even if you get 13 or more kills it seems like it take forever to level up but if deathmatch is the best way i guess its back to the grind.

What you want to do at high levels is put on the "Veiled" BoH for your 1st booster & "Deposit" for you 2nd. So then if you get 10 kills with "Veiled" on, you get $20,000 (or $30,000?) then with deposit on you get x2.

Also, elimination is my favorite mode I would say. Like a week ago I went 17-2 with 3 wipeouts, 3 triples, 1 double, & a few other ones.

Pretty good story idea, since it would be such a good chance to show-case sand & pyramid/catacomb exploring. I also really like it since it would feature the Christianity religion into it & it would be a challenge to ND.

Then for the supernatural fights/enemies, you would fight the undead mommies? or even angelsO:)/demons:evil: :whee:

Hey, does anyone know if you have to beat all the levels in order, on subsequent playthroughs, on harder difficulties to get the trophy?

I made the mistake of not playing on hard mode the 1st time, so now I'm on my 3rd playthrough on crushing.

I figures the last boss would be a huge pain, so I went after him 1st and beat him. Now, I'm about to level 7 or so on Crushing.

I want to know if I will get the trophy after beating all the levels on Crushing, or do I have to beat the last guy yet again (even though I beat him on crushing already)?

So I'm not a PS3 owner, but the rave reviews of this game have caused me to consider buying a PS3 to play this game, along with some of the other great PS3 exclusives.

Anyway, how great is the multiplayer on this game? My multiplayer preferences tend to be of the Halo or CoD variety, although I'm certainly open to a 3rd person POV, as I really like Gears of War as well. Is the online multiplayer set up like a matchmaking system, or is it a game lobby with the various games? Is there a "Quick Match" mode where it'll drop you into a lobby immediately? Overall, how is the online experience with Uncharted 2 on the Playstation Network? Thanks in advance.

its fun beter than codwaw imo. the time it takes to get a game started can be quick or damn slow just depends the levels range in size and the mix of weapons in them. co-op seems to take the longest to get going since it doesnt see like alot of people play it. every so often be prepared to drop a game because for some reason you get connection errors every so often which can often times cause you to get penalized ( drop in rank and a loss of money).

I wouldnt buy a PS3 just for Uncharted 2 Multiplayer..But the thing is there are plenty of amazing MP games for PS3 depending on what you like. Socom for gun skills, Warhawk for massive team based battles, Metal Gear Online for stealth based, even Killzone 2 for its rolling game modes. More than enough to fit whatever you enjoy

The MP is fun and it's something different. There are plenty of fun FPSes online but not many third person shooters. It may not be as deep or popular as some of the other games but it's still great. The SP is definitely above and beyond anything I've played this year and the MP should last you a while.

But as smiggity said, there are other great games on the PS3 and 3rd party games no longer receive second rate treatment as they once used to. If online is really important to you, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 are both great. And MAG is coming early next year, which should be a crazy MP game.
So, how is the U2 multiplayer now that MW2 has released? Are there fewer peeps?
yep seems almost like its been halfed more or less. still plenty there to play but to go from seeing 12,000 pluss to 4 to 6 thousand is a big drop.

MW2 is the "New Kid on the Block" so it's natural that the figures would drop. It may come back up once the "newness" factor wears off, but I doubt it'll be able to climb back up to 12,000 (save for new and free DLC).

It seems odd that it would only saw 12k-4k people are online. Is that worldwide or is that just local or by server?

I love the multiplayer, but I haven't played much mp in other video games recently. I think you'd really enjoy it if you like fps mp. It has matchmaking, on unranked it does it based on games played, and I heard in ranked it does it based on your skill level, which is different from your games played rank. Here's an article from Naughty Dog about that http://www.naughtydog.com/site/post/skill_levels_and_the_ranked_playlist/

You can host game types or choose different game types. There is a quick match mode where it drops you into a lobby immediately. I've played like 50 mp games and only seen someone else lag in 1 game and only had dropped game once. It matches teams based on skill but if they party up they can keep their team together.

could be by server it would make sense considering how many people have bought the game but whose to say how many actualy play it online.

Almost positiuve it is worldwide...12k is a stretch, maybe on double XPweekends.. it was more like 8-10k on when game launched. Still even with 4000 you will have no problem finding a match
