Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - (use spoiler tags please)

So the last two trophies I need for the Platinum are Crushing difficulty and the "200 kills" for the GAU-19. Can I use the unlocked GAU-19 (bought from the store) to rack up more kills?

Otherwise, where is the best place to grind away?

Thank goodness -- and glad to hear that I'm not the only one who had to take this route.
Thank goodness -- and glad to hear that I'm not the only one who had to take this route.
It would take me 5 playthroughs to get 200 kills with the GAU. I just have to get that one and 10 steel fist kills in a row, oh and a co-op game to get Platinum. There are a few other medals left to earn like getting the kills with the Nazi weapons. I don't think you can get any kills with the pistol and just a few with the smg without using the store option.

Yeah, i have a lot of fun with this game online. The only games I have more fun with online are gta, killzone, and resistance. I can't wait for the new maps, I just hope they aren't anything like the resistance maps, so I can actually play them.

Just finished Crushing. The only part that nearly made me break my Dualshock was the final fight.

For the 200 kills with the Gau..
I did mines on "The Siege" chapter. There's one point early in the level when there's a guy + turret on a roof. Below, A LOT of enemies will show up. Climb on the roof straight across from the turret guy (I think a rocket launcher is on this roof) eliminate him and the guys below with your Gau. Directly to the right of the turret guy on the lower level, enemies will continuously spawn and head for the turret. Just sit back and keep killing. It takes awhile. I think this is the only part of the game where enemies will continuously spawn.

Just got my Platinum, and here's my take on two points that have been often talked about...

Beating Lazaravic (sp?) on Crushing (did it on my first try)
I ran around the perimeter clockwise the entire time, never going in the middle of the map. Lazaravic almost always follows me along this route (he deviated once or twice) and there are pockets of tree resin are points that have fallen down stones for cover. He even blew himself up several times when he threw grenades at me.

I did find a Dragon Snipe at one point (which was strange since I had never noticed it before, but I missed unfortunately).

And I found Chapter 4 an easy spot for the 200 Gau-19 kills. Killed ~16 people in ~1 minute, and reloaded from last save point when Sully said, "They're trying to flank me."

Total time in SP: 31 hours after a run through on Normal, Hard, and Crushing. Broke my rule of not playing a game 3 times, but the action portions made the time worth it (although I won't be touching this game again anytime soon as I'm burned out of this).

I beat the last guy on crushing by
hanging on the platform that looks like a table; you can hang on it and move around 3 of the sides. Lazarovic will try to follow you around and get on top of the platform. On the right side, there is a resin patch, wait for him to jump down by the resin, and blow it up. If you keep moving, he will never land a shot on you. Use your ammo carefully b/c there is no ammo refill for the handgun. Look on YouTube to see how to do it; it's pretty easy.

Anyone want to multiplayer together? Maybe we should start a separate thread for that. Gotta say though, single player is one of my favorite games of all time.

I am on the last boss, on crushing and these tips I will try tonight. I tried for like 30mins straight and it pissed me off so much! He is going down tonight!!

Read two posts above yours, the tips are in the Spoilers.

I've really been itching to play some Uncharted 2 multiplayer for a while now but I stupidly lent my copy to a friend 3 weeks ago. Is the multiplayer still decently alive after Modern Warfare 2 was released? I don't want to finally get my game back and have missed out on most of the good times.

I Finally beat him, using the method you mentioned. I was trying this before when he kept killing me, but I finally got the bastard!

The other night there was over 6,000 online. To this day I have not had any problems getting into games quickly. I finally left Death Match and started playing the Objectives games, those can be so much fun!!! And the objectives seem to help gain money fast. You do get medals worth a lot of money for in all the game types in U2 so I don't know if the objectives get you much more money than regular DM would.

you get alot more money in the arena games then you do in deathmatch its insane how much more you get. if youre doing it to level up find 2 more people to play with you who you know will work with you as a team.

Is this game more or less challenging than the original? Some enemies were bullet sponges and had great aim even on the lower difficulties.
I'll try Arena. About the same on hard mode, maybe a tiny easier. More easier on Crushing.
btw make sure you have the deposit booster someone told me that helps get you more money.

Stealth kills change the difficulty level significantly, as successfully doing a string of them can prevent a whole swarm of guys from coming out. Failure to notice such points or execute improperly will lead to a very difficult situation.

All in all, I thought the challenge was about the game with the final boss actually being easier in U2 than the original if you follow the strategy I detailed above (among other possibilities).

CONGRATS!!! :applause: I figured I was getting really lucky when he kept hitting himself with his own grenades.

@SuperPhillip,

U2 is super easy, until you play on Crushing. But even then, you hit rough patches (with persistance, you can get by though).

U1 was all about headshots, at least for me.

Play U2 on hard mode, you will get troohies for the easier modes in one fell swoop.

js1, did you use my method or ecofreak's method? I beat him on hard by
just running and blowing up resin
, but that did not work on crushing.

I think I'll eventually pick this up as my "action-shooter" game as opposed to MW2. The whole package just seems more worthwhile to me. How strong is the online community since MW2's release?

I'm not interested in MW2's singleplayer which has strayed so far in tone from the old CoD1&2 and seems full of nonsensical shocker moments. And personally, having played online shooters since Counter-Strike was in beta-mod form and to have seen free games like America's Army, I could really give two flying fucks about perks in a shooter. Never even bothered with CoD4.
Anyone know how to get the trophy for "rolling over" a shield guy? I don't even know what it means.
Blast away at the shield, until they recoil. Run up to them and you can walk over the shield by hitting square. Then break their neck from behind.

is it me or is their server crappy as hell?? right now, I kept getting connection errors, ppl kept dropping out of games, etc... I have this happen from time to time but not sure if its a problem w/ my router or their server.

When you compare some GOTY contenders, I don't see how anyone in their right mind would put MW2 over Uncharted 2. There are so many similar things that Uncharted 2 does right that Modern Warfare 2 does wrong, especially the AI:

- In Uncharted 2, your allies can shoot and aim quite well
- In Modern Warfare 2, your allies can't hit butter
- In Uncharted 2, your allies can distract enemies and take down enemies by themselves
- In Modern Warfare 2, your allies are distracted by butterflies

Just got Platinum today! I'm definitely voting for Uncharted 2 and Naughty Dog. Actually, I already did 3x since I've enjoyed this game so much.

I can't believe I didn't play any of the Uncharted games until last month, easily one of my favorite series of all time now.

Unfortunately now the wait for Uncharted 3 is going to be unbearable!

Fact: MW2 sold ~10 million the first week. Uncharted 2 sold ~1 million it's first week.

It's a popularity contest and I just don't think U2 has enough support.

I really hope MW2 does not get GOTY. Transformers 2 was one of the shittiest movies ever, and it sold gangbusters; just because something sells well, does not mean it's good.

There's nothing really novel, that I'm aware of, in MW2. Uncharted 2 took the last game up a few notches, and it's one of the best games I've played in the last few years.
After about 5 minutes you'll hear a train explode and it'll spawn in a corner.
i had a feeling it was in that area but i never saw anything over there at the beginning of the round. thanks for the info .

MW2 will absolutely win all the "User Votes" GOTY awards, but I think Uncharted 2 has an exceptional chance at winning GOTY from an actual editorial staff who disregard sales.

sweet its about time they added a new map already some of those maps can be annoying as hell to play since everyone always wants to play them ( plaza and village especially).

Yep. I see those way to much. I like the Train Wreck one the best. I use to see it a lot,but lately it never shows up/gets picked.
