Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - (use spoiler tags please)
For the most part as far as the rumored changes go I like it, however theres only one thing that bothers me - and that's giving grenades back their blast radius. I think the best change that came from the last update was nerfing the grenades, and I think it's perfect the way it is now. Changing it back and having people grab grenades is just stupid. I hope this is fake, but other than that everything else sounds ok I suppose.
So a grenade that's two steps away from you isn't supposed to hurt you? Great logic. Grenades the old way were far more truthful. It's a grenade, not a water balloon. The new grenades suck so much ass that there's no point in using them.

We also need to remove the skeletons from the list of people we can choose OR give them HEAVY footsteps. Using the Skeletons is like having three perks instead of two. Thus they need loud footsteps like everyone else or to be removed completely.

First of all it's a game, it's not suppose to be realistic. I don't know if you've noticed but this game is pretty damn arcadey. If you want to play a game with a more realistic sense in it, go play the bajillion others out there. And second, I don't want to brag, but I can kill pretty easily with a grenade, you just have learn how to use them. Use the arc, I do it and kill my enemies the majority of the time. People tend to rely too much on the "auto-throw" aspect and forget completely you can actually aim them, it actually throws off the opponents when someone actually aims it correctly, effectively killing them. Not to mention the blast effects, which usually leaves the opponents kneeling over for a good 3 seconds giving you enough time to shoot the hell out of them, or if your a little further away run over there and do the blindfire + melee combo or drop another grenade at his feet.

I can go on and think of lots of ways to use the grenades and how to kill with them, so there shouldn't be a reason for them to revert it back. Unless there was enough constant whining out there that ND would have to comply, which I hope isn't the case, but hey it worked for 1.06 so keep climbing up that tree.
heres a list of rumored improvements that someone posted on the ND Blog that are "alleged" to be part of update 1.07 again this isnt fact its just what someone posted so it could all be shit but if it were real itd make me very happy. some of it does sound possible but some of it i really doubt so take it all with a cup of salt( because a grain isnt enough).

Then why post that BS if its not official? Unless its by Arne or another ND employee it doesn't deserve to be looked at since anyone can just go onto that blog to post junk.

It's most likely fake, so take it with a grain of salt. Its kind of like a wish list of sorts if you ask me.

Seriously that's exactly what I liked about the last update, the nerf to grenades and now they're setting it back to default!?? wtf is going on ND!? O_O

Completely agree. People rely on one method for throwing grenades all the time. For me, if it's close quarters/ opponent is standing up (however far away), aim and throw. If they are behind cover, arc it in. Grenades are good that way it is.

grenades are the most versatile thing in the game and mastering them is a big part of being good in the game. i rarely ever arc them because it leaves you open to get shot ( especially now due to the health drop) but if you learn how to quick toss them when someone is close to you or do the aim toss with them to throw them fast you can do alot of damage to people. on top of that ive got it to where i can fast toss them and kill people hiding behind things by using nearby walls and such as a target.

like on the village when you see people hiding in those 2 spots where the sniper rifles are instead of climbing up to get them toss a grenade at the wall behind them and most times youll kill them ( especially on he section that has a roof over it ) that spot if you aim toss a grenade to hit them underside of the roof it will drop down on them and kill them.

theres alot of crazy ways to use the levels to your advantage if you think outside of the box.

Yep, this is exactly what I was referring to when I said I can think of many ways to use the grenade. And lokizz said it best, "grenades are the most versatile thing in the game and mastering them is a big part of being good in the game." Quick tossing the 'nades is considered an advanced technique if done right. So if your still complaining about the grenades, you obviously haven't explored your options.

Regarding arcing the grenades, I've gotten good at it to the point where it takes me half to second to perfectly aim and throw on the whim; it takes practice but it's doable and effective. Of course it's still works best when behind cover, as I usually arc aim, throw, and while the grenade is getting there I either shoot at them or rush them to get them to stay put, works all the time ;)

So needless to say grenades definitely need to be left alone. I'm sure everyone remembers the clusterfuck pre 1.06 with grenades, nearly everyone and their mother drops them before they die and almost always getting killed for it. At least now you have a chance of getting away. So yeah, no easy mode for you :booty:

WTF is naughty dog doing. They keep changing the way the game plays. I have never seen anything like this and probably never will again.

I'm calling Naughtydog the Aksys of shooters. They completely change shit for no reason at all other then to spite old fans.

Yep. Once I finally get use to something they go and change it completely. That's about the only thing I don't like about the game. They should have left it alone from the start.

I agree to a certain degree here. I've played the MP as early as the closed beta and loved nearly everything about it during that time, so consider me an OG lol. Hell, I didn't even mind how the grenades were at the time. The only things I found that really needed changing was the nerfing of the FAL. Everything else was really unnecessary.

One good example of this is the respawning. Why even bother messing with that? It was perfect at the very beginning. Oh and that whole health drop change yadda yadda yadda.

yeah ive been at it since the very first beta that came with infamous and with every change theyve made the game gets worse for it. if possible they should dial the game back to 1.04 just because everything was more balanced for everyone. the health wouldnt be as annoying if the spawns werent so jacked up or if theyed just dropped the health by a fourth instead of half.

i know you cant please them all but i still dont understand how they decide what to change and why.
yeah ive been at it since the very first beta that came with infamous and with every change theyve made the game gets worse for it.
ive been there since the closed beta way back when. this MP went to hell. ND really fucked it up with all the constant changes. i havent played since they changed the health. i always used the invalid negative booster and with that one now, youd get dominated no matter how good you were. my rank VI will never be online in this game again. dont even know why i still have this game, especially hearing that the spawns are still completely shit (me and someone from the other team have already spawned across from one another and just killed each other again immediately) and the game still has rampant glitches of dudes shooting through walls.

I wish we still had 1.04. They had to change the health. It's like they couldn't have a separate playlist. ND really has no clue what to do in multiplayer. I'm a lvl 54 and cannot stand playing multiplayer unless I'm with friends.

they should have somehow made some kind of seperate server or whatever for lower level people to play. one of the things that can be so annoying is to get stuck on a team of 2 or more low level people and then the oposing team is mostly level 40 and u and you know that as soon as the game starts some or all of those low level players will quit.

i realize thats why they added the penalty feature which was ok until everyone got penalized for things that were out of their control but a beter way to handle this is keep everyone level 19 or lower on seperate servers and then once you hit 20 you can go into the general population. that gives newer players time to get better and it keeps the old players from having to play 5 on 2 or 5 on 3 games.

guess its too late now to do it but something like that would have been helpful. i always felt bad for those new players who get slaughtered because of that.

Some updates I would like to see besides the obvious (fixed glitches in maps/respawn points) would be more items added to the in-store multi-player and the ability to use extra skins in the coop-modes. I know they can't be used in Arena or Objective, but hopefully Siege will allow it.

For me, its usually always 40's-60's... with the occasional 30. And I know a lot of friends who make new accounts just the slaughter the newbies. So I think they have a system in place... just not implemented as well as it could have.

Also, my friend taught me a glitch that can go through any wall. Very cool. Only problem is that it takes forever to do, making it unreasonable in a real match.

I never could stand the mp in this unless it was playing that objective based 'storyline' type mode with friends. So glad I got rid of this game, since there's way too many people who play nothing but this 24/7 like the Warhawk vets who would own you in half a second as soon as you spawned.

I've been on both ends of this. I would be on a team where it's mostly Level 40s and 50 (I'm level 35 for the record), but I played a deathmatch last night, and it was me, and 4 other people who were Level 12 or lower. I had half the kills because no one else knew what they were doing. Incredibly frustrating. One of them had the audacity to yell over the mic: "get back to headquarters" as if I even knew what that meant.
One of them had the audacity to yell over the mic: "get back to headquarters" as if I even knew what that meant.
lol wow thats some funny fucking shit. yeah thats one of the downsides of getting stuck with new players more times than not they camp or if they notcie someone kicking ass on their team they hang around them and steal their kills. ive killed people on my team for doing that sort of thing because like you said its frustrating when youre the only peprson going out to kill and the rest of them want to find a nice safe spot to get cheap kills.

Oh, there was also a case of someone wanting me to "watch their back." He had the riot shield, and he's all like "hey, Rafael122, watch my back man" and I asked him what the hell he was talking about. Stuff like that, I mean, it's funny, but I shake my head with it all.

I've also told myself the Ice Cave is the worse of them all. Very little space to move around, and the spawning is this is horrible. Had a couple of instances where I would respawn, and I'm facing 3 people from the opposing team and they all just start shooting. My favorite would probably be the village. Some good spots to be a sniper.

Not sure if this thread hijacking or not, but Elana Fisher is coming to my town! The voice actor is shooting a pilot in the town I live beside, and used to work in.

That's it. No point. Just thought it was cool, and wanted to vent to people who would know what I was talking about.

Title Update 1.07 includes the following:

  • Players can now select a Hero skin through their online profile for Co-op Arena matches only
  • Additional spawn system changes to enhance spawn point update effectiveness
  • Gameplay changes to prevent “airwalk” exploit by players
  • Updates to map geometry collision detection to improve prevention of players attempting to leave normal multiplayer map boundaries

I did consider getting manual signed... but I am lazy.

Now this is the type of update they should do instead of changing how the game plays. I'm happy to see:

  • Additional spawn system changes to enhance spawn point update effectiveness
  • Gameplay changes to prevent “airwalk” exploit by players
  • Updates to map geometry collision detection to improve prevention of players attempting to leave normal multiplayer map boundaries

Tomorrow the DLC comes. I'm loving Uncharted 2 again. I haven't stopped playing it since it came out to be honest. Although I did hate some of the changes in the past. I finally got use to it.

People still play this? :bomb:

Just got this again a few days ago, plan to get the dlc soon, I'll start adding you guys if you wanna get some games in.

Mine is Rafael122. Feel free to add me guys. I'm addicted to multiplayer. I've pretty much stopped playing everything else and focused on this game. It's addicting.

Damnit! I was all excited to wake up and play the new maps, but apparently for the PSN Thursday release means when Thursday is almost over (based on the searches I made to find out when they release stuff). :bomb:

At least Xbox releases their stuff in the middle of the night while I'm asleep.

Yep, I just got the mp pack bundle, plan to get siege mode when it comes out. Any pricing on it?

Haven't got em yet on dm, or plunder. But on siege I got the museum... pretty cool looking map from what I saw so far on it.

Anyone up for some UC2 tonight? I am on right now and have already sent a few of your some F/R's. I can't beleive I forgot how fun this game was....

Siege becomes a third option you may or may not get for co-op arena matchmaking. Of course, you can always set the match up yourself.

Some player who was actually in the roman numeral levels started freaking out when he saw someone on the other team with the rocket launcher and wouldn't shut up, so I had to mute him.

I think it happened to me three times where I would kill someone at the same time he killed me, and we responded right next to each other!
