Uncharted:GA, Gravity Rush and Wipeout 2048 free on PS+ for Vita
Awesome stuff. Can't wait to get Jet Grind. I wonder how big the game is. I've only got the 4gb that came with the bundle.
Jet Grind Radio was originally a Dreamcast title. And Dreamcast titles came on custom GD-Rom discs, which stored around 1 Gigabyte of data. So Jet Grind Radio for the Vita probably won't take up any more than 1 Gigabyte. (and will probably be less, possibly much less) I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

So I could just get a 3 month subscription and then download and keep these games?

Or do I lose them when subscription is over?
So I could just get a 3 month subscription and then download and keep these games?

you can only play when you are subscribed
Free games you get from Playstation+ don't expire when your subscription lapses. It just means you won't be able to get any of the new free games that come out. If I download and install those free games on my PS3 and Vita, I will be able to continue enjoying them for as long as I please, even if I don't renew my Playstation+ subscription.
.....that's not true
You can only play the free games as long as you are a member.

amazon tiv for Gravity Rush and Uncharted were 20.25 and 18.90 this morning, good thing I locked in couple hours ago, they are now tanked to 6.75 and 8.70
Now to find PS+ on the cheap...Anyone know any good deals on PS+ cards?
Ive seen them for only $38 on ebay! (compared to the standard $50 price tag)
Newb question, but can i put all those vita games on my DL list (thru ps3) even if i don't have a vita yet?
yup!

YEAH!
I was waiting for a sale for Wipeout and Uncharted and now they're free*.
Uncharted is great to "rent" since I won't likely play it more than once.
And I already got Mutant Blobs and FFT on sale, so I'm doing a good job of winning with my Vita experience so far.

*no, they're not actually free but since I already spent the money, I'm not thinking about that for another year.
Again, how does this help people NOW? 3 years = $150 (+tax?)
It is relevant when people are questioning the cost of the service + the cost of storage versus the value they are receiving back. For those that spent significantly less for the cost of the service, it increases their returned value.

Not every post is to help you now. Discussion occurs and the scenario above was brought up. Relax.

On that similar line, is PS + worth it if you have no plan to get a Playstation 3? I am contemplating this :whistle2:#
If Sony included a year of PS+ with a new vita I'd be extremely tempted to go out and buy one. But they won't do anything this smart.
I don't know that it would be smart of them to do so. A month, maybe, but a year is a little excessive for them to give away. You can however partake in deals as they occur that include a free $50 GC and then use that on PS+.

The only thing that pushed me over the edge was the COD Bestbuy magazine that they gave to me when I renewed my Gamer's Club; it had a $15 off coupon for a PS+ 1 Year sub that expires in a couple days.

i agree and while I have a few years free from IGN, I think the service would pay for itself multiple times over during the course of a year to justify even the full $50.

but nobody is locked into $50, you can always trade stuff in towards a card, wait for deals, etc. And they usually go for less than retail on Ebay, though you see this less and less as the service gets popular.

So instead of a permanent price cut, sony will just give away the games to encourage more unit sales. Well played sony!

I am guessing you could download Final fantasy tactics on the PSP as well if you have PS +? Or just the vita?
It didn't on the ps3 digital versions, maybe vita is different.
My GoW Origins Disc game saves carried over to the Digital versions from the GoW Saga dlc.
I would say yes. As someone who has been debating a gravity rush purchase lately, it's still going for near to full price. Uncharted: GA is top notch and the vitas small library should score plus some great titles coming up and/or classics.
Thank you kind sir! I already purchased a 32 gb card... so now just need to find some decent price PS + Prepaid card. :D

Awesome. I've been saving my free year of PS+ from the Playstation Card for when it went live on the Vita. I already have 2 of those games but I'm stoked for the others. Fingers crossed for a PS+ deal that gives us 50% off of all PSP games. I want those GoW games.

Also, a lot of people are asking if you can "purchase" Vita games via their PS3 store. Do you think it'll work the other way around too? Can we download PS3 games via our Vitas? I'm away from my PS3 for the next month but I have my Vita with me.

so the only good games on the Vita will now be free on PS+... hopefully this will lure some of their loyal fanboys into the system...

This is very wrong info.
Now I want a vita. Damnit Sony, I see what you're doing... and it's working.
Totally. Guess I'm lining up for a bf bundle.

that's not factual. i had a free month, and the free games i got were gone at the end of that month.

Interesting question. My kneejerk response is that you'll have half a dozen games you can download to put on your vita at any given time for $50 a year. The big question, here, is how often is sony going to rotate games in the Vita instant collection? Two games a month? One game a month?? Four games a month??? Who knows but assuming--at the very least--that you're getting one new game a month in the ICG that's 18 games (including the original six) for you to play for $50 for one year. Throw in all of the free minis and PSone games that are playable on Vita and...SURE IT IS WORTH IT. (Even if you don't own a PS3)
I own all of these games, but I'm seriously considering selling/trading my copy of Gravity Rush. I play it here, but hell I just got a 32GB card so I could just download it on there.
I need to know how existing card based game saves will work with their digital counterpart before I go trading carts in.

runs to dump the cart verison before price crash...

Too late

Rush down to 6 on amazon and uncharted is 9

o well they will just stay sealed in my collection
Wow, this is awesome! This just made buying a Vita a whole hell of a lot easier.
Welcome to the PS Vita family! :bouncy:
Make sure you get a big memory card for all those games! xD

I've been on a free trial but this has made up my mind about subscribing!

Hopefully this pumps up the Vita's numbers.
they do! :)
How? If you delete the cart based app from the Vita doesn't it delete the save?

Alright thanks! Now, I was reading another thread that the pre-order for Wii U BLOPS II still get you a free COD magazine =0. If that is true, I might go pre-order that and not pick it up. At worse I'll lose $5 XD

I don't know, but here is a Q and A from the comments on the PlayStation Blog.

Q: If I decide to buy the digital versions for Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush how will it affect my save files? Will I still be able to play the digital copies with the save files I previously have?

A: Your save files will not be affected, and through PS Plus you’ll have access to your online game saves which will allow you to use your save data with your digital version.

So is there any way for someone who has a PS3 but not a Vita yet to flag these as downloaded from their PS3? I just checked on mine and the games are listed as full price not PS+ free.

Can you access the PSN from the Vita?

These games aren't even being added this week... but they will work after the store updates N E X T week.

Yes, you can but PS+ Vita doesn't start until 11/18.

Wow, those are real games! Sony's kind of building an interesting subscription model here...

But I'd rather just own em on cartridge...and do! :D

(Well, I own Uncharted and Gravity Rush. Wipeout is really visually impressive-best looking wipeout so far...but it's waaaay too hard for me.)
Can you access the PSN from the Vita?
You can access the PSN store on the Vita. But only PS vita game, Cross-play game, minis and PSP game show up.

I read this as needing to use the cloud saving ability in order to save your cart based save to the cloud first then install digital and redownload save from cloud.

I'll hold onto my cart games until I can test this all out.

sounds like a good plan :)

I love PS+. I don't collect games like a lot of CAG's do, I just play 'em, then sell them. So not owning the physical copy doesn't bother me. After I beat it or trophy whore it, I don't keep it around. So I like "free" digital stuff. Plus my PS+ was FREE from the Playstation Card promotion. So "free" all around!!

Why not eBay them? Especially if they are sealed!

I already own all these, but damn, what an incredible value. They really went all out for this. I hope the downhill slide isn't too steep after this though.
