Events your store may be doing... Call ahead of time to make sure.

Event: "Gears of War Preview" Select stores will be staying open late on 10-21 in order to show off Gears of War for the Xbox 360. The showing will start at 9 PM and last approximately 15-20 minutes from what I can tell.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I think I've covered everything that is available this time around. If anyone discovers that something is missing, please post in the thread or the even better bet is to PM me so I can add to the list accordingly.
Traded in a couple of games today. Only one isn't in the wiki yet:

Jonny Moseley: Mad Trix (PS2) - $1
HaHa That is such a shitty game:lol:

I sort of found out in a roundabout way the only way they could have a case to take my credit away is if they could prove I obtained the games I traded in via theft. So since i still have pretty much all the receipts from the games I traded in I should be fine, like I said I just want to trade these last 6 games in and be done with them.

I almost want to dump all my pre-orders back on the my edge card then turn that into some gift cards so I can e-bay the credit back into cash. It seems that I will not be getting my PS3 via EB now, and that was my only reason to try and gather all this credit.

could someone break it down to me how this works?
for example, i want to trade in 3 games + $10 that amount to $36 in credit. i have an edge card, so that would bump that to $39.60.
AND i want to trade that in for Final Fantasy XII which would add another 20% so the total would be equivalent to $47.52? Is that how this works?

For me, the 20% was added to the base amount of the trade in value before the extra $10, but the automatic 10% with EDGE came after. So:

$10+$8+$8 = $26 credit
* preorder bonus = $28.6
+ $10 = $38.6
* EDGE = $42.46

Or something.

You shouldn't even need the receipts. They have to prove you stole them, you don't have to prove you didn't steal them.

for sure, ive stolen literally HUNDREDS of video games from walmart last year and that was exactly what i was planning to say to them when they confronted me...fortunatley they never did and i dumped ~300 games on them in a 2 month span

JOKE!!!!!!

If anyone cares to put it down on the CAG wiki, F-Zero GX is now $2.00 and Hitman 2(GC) is $4.00

Turned those and Metroid Prime in and got myself some Pikmin 2 action. : D

nice! the absolute cheapest ass move, theft!

Yeah, no kidding...

CAG stands for CHEAP Ass Gamer, not CRIMINAL Ass Gamer :bomb:

We get in enough hot water with retailers for taking advantage (legally!) of trade-in deals and whatnot, we don't need people talking about theft of 100's of games!

Traded in Dead Rising for 50 bucks credit today..35 trade in value, plus 30% preorder bonus, plus 10% More card..

Also traded in:

Big Brain Acedemy - 8
Meteos - 7
Nintendogs - 15
Mario and Luigi - 15
Madden 07 disc only - 25 (PS2)

and 3 old PS2 2004 sport titles that traded in for a buck a piece.

I was able to pay off in full for Gears of War and Zelda: Twilight Princess(Wii). I also put down the rest of the 45 bucks on Resistance for PS3.

Well I hit 3 EB Games this week and unloaded about 40 games from the K-Mart Clearance.

Ended up with $342.xx in store credit and $5 preorders on Gears of War and Twilight Princess.

I have had no problem stacking the %10 edge with the GI %30 coupon and the 3 for $10 bonus.

2 stores refused to accept duplicates but the last store took them. For the most part the employees were nice and even found it amusing. I had one store manager question me about were I got the games and didn't want to stack the offers, but he finally gave in when I explained that I was trading these in for STORE CREDIT and that I was going to give it all back to EB anyways in the long run. ;)

In the end I spent about $150 total from different K-Marts, about $30 in gas, and spent probably 5-6 hours driving around.

And I did it all for the Wii!!

I have yet to find an employee crazy enough to stack all three promos together.... that's just an insane credit boost when they do.

..some employees are PUSHING me to stack all three...it seems that they are very desperate for preorders these days

may i ask what kind of games were part of ur trades? 40 for ~350 is a VERY good turnaround

LOL my previous post about stealing hundreds of games from walmart was a joke guys (i didnt think people would actually buy it lol)...i was responding to the other theft post with humor

Yeah that extra 20%, if I trade more than $50 worth of stuff does the 20% apply to store credit? Because I got 15 games and a GCN coming in on monday for a Zelda (well I already put $5 down but I am paying it off in full), and Wii preorder, and well if I accumulate over $50 does the 20% carry over to my Wii preorder???

Well, that's good - but you never know, people have come on CAG and bragged about similar things and weren't kidding! It seemed like a pretty straightforward statement to me, and not particularly funny .

(The disclaimer "JOKE!!!!!" wasn't in there when I responded).
did WELL today...

changed $92 of GameRush credit into $146 dollars of EB credit using 9 of the used PSP games from GR

let me stack the 3/$10, 30% preorder for Gears and 10% Edge card.....
What games did you end up trading in?

Traded in today, all PS2:

Midnight Club 3 (actually was the Remix I traded in) $9
Wild Arms 4 $6
Max Payne 2 $0.50
whew...this thread almost fell into the dark void that is the 2nd page, luckily i saved it
Yeah, no kidding, wonder why it has dropped off so much? I guess with the trade 3 deal running so long most people are tapped out. Plus we're all waiting for the PS3/Wii preorder info I guess...

I'm saving up for one more big trade-in (12 games probably) where I'm going to try to combine the $10 with the 20% for Zelda. I heard the EB/GS managers were out at the conference till Weds though? I need to get the manager to do this trade for me, as he tends to add the 20% on top of everything while his underlings do it only on the original trade value :D. So I guess I'll give it a shot Thurs or Fri.

I was just at my local EB gamea and I think one of the managers just came back from the conference. She said that they aren't doing Pre-orders for the Wii and PS3. But that the day that the Wii is released, you have to trade in $50 of stuff (before 10%) to qualify to get one. She said the same would apply to the PS3 but she wasn't sure of the dollar amount.

Trade-ins (9/30/06):
Ghost Recon (XB) ------------------ $1
Dragonball Z Budokai 2 (GC) ---- $8
Enter the Matrix (PS2) ------------ $1

Trade-ins (10/2/06):
Finding Nemo (GC) ----------------- $3
Dragonball Z Budokai 2 (GC) ---- $8
LOTR: RotK (GC) ------------------- $2.50 (dropped)
Not sure why they would leave the conference two days early. But anyway... dumbest rumor yet. It's one thing to require trade-ins to limit the number of preorders, but limit the number of purchases? No one would go there when they'd have just as good a chance everywhere else to get one without having essentially paying more for it.

lol your right, its another made up rumor, requiring a tradein to sell a product is essentially the same as selling it on ebay

I've got a few questions regarding some gray areas.
1) If I trade in the Mortal Kombat Deception Premium Pack, would it count as one or two games? Because I know they're are 2 discs and 2 cases. And I know that the Bonus disc has its own trade in value.

2) I was looking in an EB in my local mall, and I saw that they had the Fable Bonus disc by sold by itself next to the other Fables (But the sticker didn't have a price, only a barcode.), could I trade that in and have it count as a seperate game? It's the one with the interviews and a demo of Sudeki.

The bonus disc in MK trades in for more ($6) than the game disc ($5) at least over the summer when I traded it in a few times.

So do you think they'll count it as it's own game? Whatever, I'll just trade it in when a kid I know is working and hope he cuts me a break.

Trade them in separately - they are listed in the wiki that way! Just toss the packaging that holds both and treat them as 2 games. I'd take them on 2 separate occasions if you can, just to be safe. I split up my Clancy triple pack amongst 3 visits.

Heh, i just took my clancy 3pk tonight along with 3 other games - 3 disc onlys, 3 completes. Luckily no problems.

I was just getting together the games I was going to trade in, and noticed a I still have Disgaea stickers on one of my cases. Last time I went in, I had Stretch Panic stickers on my Mobile Light Force 2 case, and they took it in as SP(Which coincidently I'm trading in this time.). I wonder if they would give me the full credit for Disgaea if I kept the side sticker on it and put a fairly obscure game in its case?

Ethics aside, i guess it would depend how many games you are trading in if the clerk notices it - since im sure on his screen he sees the game names and the trade in value. Disgaea will stick out.

I probably won't do it, unless (Which I won't, since I refuse to shop from them, and I also think it's pretty wrong to do.) I go to the one that screwed me out of money. Somehow they didn't change over my preorder credit from VP2 to Rule of Rose, and I got screwed out of my money. Whatever. They're jackasses there. Manager got into a fight with me about returning a $2.99 PS1 game.

the usuals...

a couple of medievil, hot shot golf and MGA2
daxter, syphon filter, frogger

How about posting the trade-in values? Frogger (PSP I assume) isn't even in the wiki, and the rest are fairly old quotes. I'll add 'em in to the wiki. Nearly all of these are available at my local BB - I'd like to see what besides MediEvil and HSG is worth trading.

Ended with good deal today: 2 jampacks: $1 for both Mgs3: $4 Nba06(psp): $9 I traded in SF:DM and soccer game demos (psp) and they took them as if they were the real games so it was $30 for both! (PS Im using my psp's web browser)

Wow, I have a stack of like 6+ PSP UMD demos... I guess they weren't paying attention because they say on the disk "DEMO". I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try that...

I was in EB today and the guy in front of me was trading in his 360, wanted to cry when I heard the total amount he got back for all of it. Got me thinking afterwards...

Promo: "Trade in your old Xbox and get $80 credit towards an Xbox 360 console."
This works on both the Pro package and the core system.

Is this part of the promo still running? Also does anyone know the price of a used 360 premium? I can't find it on the eb/gs websites.

I still have my GI coupon and a handful of worthless games I could trade in also. I was figuring if it all worked out, I could be spending less than $200 cash, which I would consider.

^^^^ What did they give for the 360? I saw a used 360 at my Gamerush store. They told me they gave the guy $350 in credit for it! I thought that was pretty damn good, actually. They must sell it for $380 or something. I'd never buy a used one for that much though - seems like they ought to give $300 and sell it for $350 at the MOST.

He traded a 360, COD2, Dead Rising, another game I couldnt make out, two wireless controllers, and a few other accessories in for a whopping $280 in cash or so. Credit would have been about $335 total, so im guessing somewhere around $260-300 store credit for the system alone.

God damn! It's too bad you didn't have that much on you, or at least in the bank. You could of offered him a price before he walked inside. :D

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw it too. He walked inside with this big ass black duffel bag, figuring it was a ps2 or something, only to find out what was in it after he wanted to trade it in. I don't have enough cash in one spot to have bought it anyway, so Im not kicking myself too hard.

o0 NFS Most Wanted XBOX is down to $6. Please update wiki. That listed $14 is so wrong. Carbon releasing just around the corner might be part of the reason too

Burnout Revenge XBOX $7

Done, but everyone must remember any trade quote from June (as the old NFS:MW quote was), especially on a game that dropped in MSRP, is likely not accurate :D.

Thanks io. I know.

The PS2 version is listed at $14 for 9/25 and I was shocked by the big drop for XBOX. Is it possible to be that different between them? Less than a week and it went from 8 to 6 which comes out to -$2 every month. Sounds about right.

Since I can't confirm the current PS2 trade-in price, it won't budge until proven otherwise -- though I can't imagine it still being that high.
