Sorry, but no good game trading promos this time in marketing. For those of you waiting to get rid of a system, now is the time to do it for some extra credit.

Trade Values according to the Wiki.
(Green means it is starting on 10/16)
(White is a continuation from last marketing period)
 (Red means it is ending on 10/15)

Trade Promos

Promo: "Trade in your Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox 360 and get $20 extra in credit" Systems must be fully functional and have all hook-ups with the controller. This deal does not get extra bonuses.

Promo: "Trade in your old Xbox and get $80 credit towards an Xbox 360 console."
This works on both the Pro package and the core system.

"Power Trade Offer" Trade any games towards the reservation or purchase of the following 4 games, receive and extra 20% trade credit (excluding hardware).
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube or Wii versions)
- Gears of War (Regular or Collectors)
- Final Fantasy XII (Regular or Collectors)
- All other Titles get a 10% increase when all credit applied to preorder

Customers trading in 3 PS2, XBOX, GC, DS or PSP games receive an extra $10 trade credit. Customers can mix formats. For example, 2 PS2 games and 1 XBOX game can receive the total extra $10. 2006 and earlier sports, all wrestling and all demo discs are still excluded from this offer. THIS IS STACKABLE WITH THE EDGE/GAMESTOP CARD.

Event: "Final Fantasy XII Costume Contest & Midnight Opening" Some stores may end up doing a costume contest for the release of Final Fantasy XII. Participants may dress up as any Final Fantasy character of their choosing (Prizes may be available, although I'm not to sure about it). Some stores may also be participating in a midnight opening for Final Fantasy XII.

I wanted to use the 30% GI coupon (and pre-order a PS3 title) but they won't stack it with the 3 for $10 deal because of the coupon verbiage that says not to be combined with any other offer. But they would stack it with the normal10% Pre-order bonus - so I added the 10% extra to medieval total war (PC) - I already had it preordered but I added more money. So I was able to get the 3/$10, 10% preorder and 10% edge for a total of $141.44. Also added $5 on COD3 for PS3 since they did let me stack more than they should have.

EDIT - just realized that I got an extra $5.86 - looks like she gave me $12.31 (after bonus) for LOTR:3rd Age (XB) instead of $6.45.

If you have the World soccer game it isvery hard to tell if its demo or not

because the demo logo on the disc is really tiny! So if you have any psp demos

Im pretty happy with that deal. One of the employees wasnt going to let me do the MORE card with the trade 3 get $10 deal, so I went to a female employee and she said no problem. But I went for the 20% preorder bonus for gears of war rather than just 10% for the MORE card.

its dependent on the store...some stores will stack, some wont stack, some will persuade u to stack, some let u stack on everthing traded in, some will only stack on what ur putting towards the game, then some wont even honor the trade 3 for 10 at all, using the "our DM is away" and "we dont have internet here" excuse when you tell them about it
 
I never got any bonus on my preorders, but I'm making like $150 profit from trading shit in to them so I don't mind :p.

Coupon in Game Informer is for 30%. I dont have coupon, but online they give you 20% off

From the Gamestop website:

can someone help me out with this:

I want to trade in 3 games and pre-order Zelda for the wii. Here are the games and values according to CAGwiki:

Mario Superstar Baseball: $17
Mario Party 5: $15
Starfox Assault: $8

With just the trade 3 get $10 deal, it should equal $50. My question is, do I have to have the Edge card to get 20% extra? And 30% extra is YMMV, right? I don't have an Edge, nor do I really want one. What are my options?

its just ymmv on stacking these orders, the first guy i talked to told me they wouldnt do the more card with the t3g$10 deal, even when I told him they'd done it before at that store, so I just asked the girl who worked there and she was willing to do it. But she wouldnt do the card and the 20% preorder so it really does depend on who you get. The system wouldnt let her do the t3g$10 and the 20% so she had to calculate the 20% and then add the $10 on after.

Those are some horrible trade-in prices... $18 for Chromehounds is pathetic. I would rather chop off my arm than trade a $60 Xbox 360 game to EB if that's what they are going to give.

I just got back from GS. They gave me the 3 and $10, but wouldn't stack up the extra 20% (I pre-ordered Zelda). I was mildly angered about that, but it wasn't a huge deal. I got enough to pay for the game and some extra.
Here's what I traded in (Prices before extra):

Cold Fear (xbox): $1.00
Metroid Prime (GCN): $ 1.50
Star Fox: Assault (GCN): $9.00
Pikmin (GCN): $3.00
Mario Party 5 (GCN): $15.00
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN): $9.00

Total Credit was $59.90 after adding in bonuses. I could have done a lot better had they stacked the 20%. Oh well, I got rid of a bunch of games I got on the cheap.

I was trading in some games, and I was trading in the MK: Deception Premium Pack (PS2), and got them to take it as 2 games. When they were taking the Bonus Disc in (/w MK1) the guy said he would give me $5 cash for it, and then proceeded to ask for $5 from the other employees, so one of them then gives me $6 for it, and they still put it as a trade in, so I got $12 for it.:D

And I had Stretch Panic in the case that Disgaea came in when I bought it from them, and they scanned the Disgaea sticker, and I almost got $34 for it, but then he noticed it. I honestly forgot to point it out to them beforhand.

Goddamit! Chromehounds was $30 like two weeks ago! :bomb:
After stackable bonuses, it comes back to around $30 again, but meh, not worth it too me.

Need help! I have three games to trade in for the 3/$10 Promo and hopefully get to use the 30% coupon for Gears of War LE:

Tales of Symphonia GH (GC)
Blackstone: Magic and Steel (XB)
Indigo Prophecy (XB)

2 Questions:

TOS and Blackstone are still sealed, Does that matter or should I tear the shrinkwrap off?
Anyone know the current trade in values? I saw that TOS was getting $8.00 in a previous post, but I didn’t see a wiki for Blackstone and the wiki for Indigo Prophecy was dated 7/25.

Just take off the shrinkwrap, and if it's not in the wiki you'll have to go or call them. Indigo Prophecy probably dropped 1 or 2 bucks, but you never know.

Usually I take the plastic wrap off. If you didn't want to open them until you confirm the trade-in value, I would call or go into the store and get a price quote first. I have brought sealed games to EB and they will open them up to confirm the disc. Others have reported that their EB won't take sealed games because they "might" be stolen.



I totalled up my Kmart clearance purchases and compared them to the EB credit I have. So far I have spent $80.55 (including tax) in real money at Kmart to get $257 in EB games credit (tripled my money - 3.2x actually). Actually I should even include the tax on the Kmart purchases because that will be a wash since when I buy things with the Edge card they don't charge me tax.

Thanks for the help...They're still sealed bcause for TOS I was able to get a non-GH in a trade so it became superflous and Blackstone has been in my backlog for as long as I can remember. I think I got it at the big CC clearance a few years back.

When I get back, I'll report the values. Thanks again!
 
UPDATE: Just got back. Trade in Values as follows:

Would not stack the 3/$10 and 30% coupon, so I might wait to trade them in when someone else is there.

Also do DS games qualify? (Yes they do)I just picked up Asphalt Urban GT at Target today for $2.48 so I would trade that in instead of Blackstone.
 
Has anyone had any success getting EB/GS to price match? Now with all this credit, I don't want to be paying $5 more for most of my DS games. When Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue came out; I called their corporate number and they said that they had sent an email out to the stores not to price match Circuit City's $24 ad price.

So, just wondering if anyone has had luck price matching any games.

good work....I know how to do it, but what games are you targeting at kmart that eb/gamestop is taking in the 3 = extra $10
 
Ok, the Wiki is updated again. I added in some prices that I have yet to post...

Basically any $2 non-sports game at Kmart will get you $4.33 minimum ($1 + $3.33 for 3 for $10 deal). You should be able to add the 10% Edge/More card and possibly can add 10% pre-order bonus if you pre-order something (YMMV if the cashier lets you stack that on top).

Some great credit generators:
Super Monkey Ball 2 (GC) $2 gets $9.33 after 3/$10 bonus
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 (GC) $3 gets $11.33 after 3/$10 bonus
Hot Shot Golf Fore (PS2) $4 gets $9.33
Full Metal Alchemist (PS2) $3 gets $11.33 (I've never found this game)
Finding Nemo (XB) $2 gets $7.33
Simpson Road Rage (XB) $2 gets $6.33
Clancy triple pack (XB) $4 gets $13.00 if traded in separately as disc only ($1+$1+$1+$10)


Just compare the prices in the first post of this thread to the EB games trade-in prices in the Wiki (plus $3.33). I personally will only dump real cash into credit if it gets me at least double the cash spent.

I just got $30 on Ebay for mine ;)

It's semi rare, so if you want to get rid of it, it's one of those games (much like something like Disgaea) I wouldn't recommend trading in to EB and selling it online.
