Viva Pinata 2 Trouble In Paradise - Gen. Discussion & Info - New Killer Instict Cards
Game of the Month in this months EGM with an A review score.
Seriously? Over Rock Band 2? Impressive.

Won't be picking this up Tuesday, but definitely soon. Also new card of the Jeli:

Probably will wait to get a camera, until I pick up You're In the Movies...

:O

I can't wait for this. I was just about to pick up the first when I saw an in-store poster for the 2nd. From all the good reviews of the first one, I'd bet this one is only going to be better. Need to get a Live Vision Camera.

Are these cards going to be in like packs that you have to buy? I might feel like a pokemon nerd again if I have a bunch of VP2 cards near my 360.. Then again, I feel a good VP2 trading thread coming up where CAGs trade their cards..

From what I remember reading, you will be able to print all of them out. No need to buy.

I think I would have liked it either way. I would have liked the free idea, well because it's free. On the other hand I wouldn't mind collecting physical cards which makes it all the more exciting.

I have no interest in wasting $15-$30 in ink to print off the cards. They better be small, black and white prints available otherwise I'll be passing.

I too would have purchased cards as well.

I'm planning on just displaying them on my laptop screen and holding that up to the camera. Do you think that would work?

If that doesn't work, you could always get a paper and a pen and sketch the barcode; does that work? lol

Either way, that's pretty idiotic. If you are able to print them off and scan them via camera for free, then why not just have it as DLC? All you have to do is download it. I understand that the cards are there to make use of the vision camera, but if you don't have a vision camera, you're pretty much left out of the loop. I'm sure at least half of the gaming community doesn't own a vision camera. Viva Pinata probably wants more people to buy vision camera's, which probably sounds good in theory, but what other game uses a vision camera extensively? The other card game where the lighting is always wrong and the game gets all fucked up? I wouldn't want to pitch $20 or whatever the hell it costs to buy a vision camera only to use it on Viva Pinata, AND buy the game itself. If it came with a bundle (game and camera) that was much cheaper, I'd probably bite.

Oh yeah, and if you didn't have a printer to print out the cards, you'd be screwed llolo. Yes, buying cards would be cool, if it came in the silver plastic aluminum pack thingies with random cards inside. If I got a rare viva pinata card, I'd probably sell on ebayz. Like the holographic charizards that went for $100+. id be rich :d

Are we expecting this to be available in-store tomorrow? I really wish I could go grab it right now--today would be perfect for me to just lounge around and sink eight to ten hours into my virtual garden.

From what I understand the cards are in no way required and was just an added quirk. I'm sure that some of those pinatas will eventually show up in your garden if you're doing things right. I don't expect the title to be pushing out camera's out of the stores.

And I found some more cards:

PS: I think I'll be able to find some more later on.

I'm thinking about buying this because of the friendly price, but I think it will just be rented using my pass from BlockBuster since I never actually beat the first game and I still have it. It looks great, though, and I look forward to playing it soon.
Tomorrow is the supposed release date...I'm banking on Wednesday though.
Guy at gamestop told me today it was scheduled for delivery tomorrow and would be available Wednesday. Best Buy said they wouldn't be getting their regular Monday night shipment because it's a holiday so probably wouldn't be there until Friday night/Saturday I think is what they said. I guess it's possible some places may get deliveries tomorrow before store closing and put them out. I'll surely be checking just in case - but the Wednesday guess is probably pretty good.

Burnout paradise uses the camera pretty heavily for an achievement in multiplayer. My brother wound up buying the cam so he could finish up the game. I'm waiting until my live expires and I think I'll pick up the cam bundle to do the card thing. I'm a little bummed they aren't releasing real cards.. but oh well. I still never finished all of the first VP, but I am so looking forward to this one.

So Ive been looking around a Viva Pinata forum, which is where I'm getting the cards from, hosted a contest a while ago in colaboration with Rare. The winner get's their very own dressed up Viva Pinata card. (Above) Apparently, this is the rarest card there is.

Anyways, here's the rest I managed to find:

This is some sort of villain that steals your pinatas so use at your own risk.
I this this one sends him away.

Also, LinkinPrime you should post up the other cards I have a page back.

There will be exclusive cards in the strategy guide. Whether they are random or all the same has yet to be determined. So technically they can sell cards that aren't online...until someone scans them in.

You can use any video source to scan them in. No printer needed. Be it a laptop or even an iPhone. No need to waste paper and ink.
Hm.. I hope someone scans the cards found in the guide and shares them here.
Here's one of them:

I'll post them if I find more. I'm guessing there's guide exclusive cards since this one isn't included in any of the ones I found.
Also, LinkinPrime you should post up the other cards I have a page back.
Got them in the OP...thanks!

Littlefields, do you know how many cards there are, or are you just scavenger hunting? Also, that Pink Viva Pinata looks pretty sick. I may feel the urge to buy a vision camera now in-case you can't find it in-game.

I have quite a problem at the moment. As much as I want to buy this game, I realize that I own the first one, but I never played much, since GTA IV came out two days after I bought it. Should I get this now, or wait, play the first one, and then get this? Ah!

I'm just looking around for them. My guess is there's around 20-30 in all later on. This seems to be the only time I was ever considering buying a Vision Camera.

I suggest you to just get this, then play the fist if you still feel like you want to. There's no real story to the first and nothing you need to know in order to enjoy this one.

I've been searching for them too and compiling a post over at DVDtalk. I already have 22 without the pink one you just posted. There are 30 developer cards in all, so I'm betting we will see closer to 75-100 pinata cards. Anyone own an iPhone? They could easily snap photos of all the strategy guide cards.

I organized my collection/post a tad nicer (easier to find pinatas) if LP wants to use it. The developer cards are in numerical order:

Development Team Cards

Various Other Pinatas

Other / Miscellaneous

Wait, really? The vision camera will be able to pick up the code on the cards like that?

Just glance at the developer cards they are x/30. So there are at least 30 of those plus the other ones already shown above.

Thanks Corvin...I'll update the OP
can you host all those images somewhere better than imageshack?
what's wrong with imageshack?
Yeah EB told me tomorrow.
Yep, my GS said tomorrow as well when I preordered it Sunday.

Anyway, a couple of reviews have popped up. Gamespot gives it an 8.5:

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/strategy/vivapinatatroubleinparadise/review.html

But WTF MS? I saw there was a new video for VP2 so I went to snag it for my kids to watch while they wait for the game. It cost 80 MS points. Now they are gonna charge for game videos? It looks like it might be more like an episode of the show, but still, I can't fork over even 1 MS point for a game video .
I can't fork over even 1 MS point for a game video.
You're so cheap.

Oh, wait.

I know this is decently off topic, but also on topic, so I won't create a whole thread for it. Does anyone know where I can get the best deal on a Vision Cam?

Treasure hunt starting at Midnight tonight:
In celebration of the release of Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, Rare has informed us that the brand new community website will be launching today at midnight PST. The community website will allow gamers to share photos of their gardens and upload any Piñata Vision cards they have created. Also, Viva PiñataAceyBongos (think of him as the European version of Major Nelson) is launching a piñata hunt on Xbox.com*. Starting Friday, piñata eggs will be hidden on Xbox.com. Mousing over them will cause a piñata to pop out. Clicking on the piñata will open a PDF of a Piñata Vision card that can then be imported into their gardens. Then you're just stuck with the (somewhat awkward) choice of either printing it out or holding your Vision camera up to the screen.

We'd opt for the first choice, especially if you're at work. After all, people might suspect something if you drag your entire entertainment center into your cubicle.
http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/09/02/viva-pinata-2-community-website-and-treasure-hunt/

Sounds pretty cool...hopefully we can all take screenshots of the cards found and share them with everyone here.
