Viva Pinata 2 Trouble In Paradise - Gen. Discussion & Info - New Killer Instict Cards

I liked the first one, but I think this one's gonna do just as bad. I have it in my Q on Gamefly. So, here's hoping.

I picked it up at Gamestop today...does anyone know how to use the Pinata Vision cards yet??? I can't seem to find where you use them.
 
Looks like I'll be picking it up tomorrow at Circuit City then. The ad says it will be in stores by 2PM. Does anyone know if they normally go out sooner, or do they release it right at 2?
 
Nope, no cc/bb got it in by me, all say "the 5th"

So gf went to crapstop and picked up a copy for herself. Its like its her b-day.

Im surprised they didnt do any pre-order bonuses for this game tho -_-V

My order didnt ship yet either. I picked 1-day shipping and hope it ships today. I prebought it a few weeks ago. It's in stock now and says if you order in 55 mins you'll get it tomorrow, so mine should ship, but it's still on stage 1 and has me worried.

Amazon has honestly been terrible recently.

They delayed indefinite undiscovery til next week for me so I canceled

Harvest moon island of happiness was delayed TIL OCTOBER so I canceled

Tales of vesperia came 2 days later than it should have with 1 day shipping

Postal-Blu Ray didnt ship, showed in stock, then was put on "no idea when it can be shipped", so I canceled

They are freaking awful lately -_-V
 
My girlfriend threw the vision camera across the room.

Has anyone gotten the camera to actually SCAN the card? It acts like it does, but then it doesnt.
 
I'm not surprised this game is only $40 after playing it for a little bit. Its like Viva Pinata 1.5 with additional pinatas and different areas to play in. I suppose it would be too much for an add-on pack to the original but it really doesn't deviate too much from the first one. That said, I enjoyed the first one and I'm looking forward to playing this with the wife later on.
 
just popped it in - me and my wife are about to start playing (she's gotta find a stopping point in her knitting.) The game came with a card with two different "cards" on front and back - each with their own scan code thingie it appears. Will be trying some of the card stuff eventually as we do have a cam. I surprised her with the VP faceplate today too!
 
crosses fingers that gamesrop has it instick when I get there. I called ahead and they have I'd but alas I didn't preorder.
 
Anyone else prebuy from amazon and have it ship? What the hell. It's been in stock all morning and mine isn't even past step 1 yet. Still no charge. I guess i'll go out tomorrow and see if any stores have a copy.
 
Got it yesterday and had to rip myself away from it due to all the homework and school-related stuff that I needed to do.

I sent Amazon a nasty email last night, because they're pulling crap like this all the time. Woke up this morning to find a response. They basically told me that there have been some delays and that I should have been notified and they're sorry that I haven't. What is sort of nice is that to make up for it my order is now being processed with free over-night shipping, which should make it arrive here tomorrow.

I finally got the email about a delay too, and my order shipped this afternoon finally. Don't know what the hold up was, but it should be here tomorrow so I'm glad I'll have it for the weekend. I have Star wars:TFU prebought with release day delivery. If that doesn't show up on time im not using amazon for new releases anymore
 
Their site has had a release day of 9/4 for a few days. I don't think they 'pulled' anything. I think CC had it listed for today as well.
 
I'm actually looking forward to picking this up ... maybe this weekend? At $40 you really can't go wrong - at least that's what I'm hoping.
 
potential problem. I leveled up and i was waiting for the notification and paragraph congratulating me, but nothing happened. I waited, and still nothing happened. I was supposed to get the land increase with that level up. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
 
Well I was hoping to get this on Tuesday but since we are already into the weekend tomorrow, Rock Band is a mere week away. Looks like VP2 is going to take a backseat for a while.
 
Was planning on ordering this from Amazon, but am considering just getting it from Target, as it comes with 5 "exclusive" cards. Does anyone know about these? I know that by exclusive, it really means they are probably on the internet, but I would not mind having some VP merch (like the BK toys). Probably would want to play it over this weekend, so Target seems the way to go, but are there also cards from Gamestop?

My wife bought VP2 and she got to level 13 before realizing that the builder guy(Willy?) never showed up, so she can't make houses or anything. Her garden DID get bigger at 10 though.

So, I guess somehow some bugs slipped into this game?

If Willy never showed up try doing these things:

1) Meet the romance requirements for two Bispotti by making them each eat a daisy.

2) Go to Langston, you may have started but not finished the tutorial. He should tell you what to do next in order to finish it.

I struggled with those for several minutes tonight before finally getting them to scan. I had to play around with the focus on the camera before it would even start recognizing the cards. But I got the two free things that came on the card in the game plus the one in the manual (a "trick stick"). I'm sure my kids will have a blast with this tomorrow.

There's a little problem with starting off and using coop. My two boys did this and the one had all the powerful tools so he dug all these ponds, etc. Then they went to the pinarctic first and he didn't realize what he was doing when he dropped bait all over the place. Now my other son has no money to do the actual stuff he needs to do - get the sweetle from the desert. He can't buy a single yam for bait. They just clicked through everything in the beginning and didn't even notice that there was any sort of tutorial. I figured it out when I played later. Maybe if he goes back and starts doing that stuff it will work out. Or he can just start a new garden - no big deal.

I guess the moral of the story is to go through the whole tutorial first as it seems the game will get into a weird state if you don't.

true. You have do what langston tells u with the bispottis before you can get willy. It is during this sequence that building is unlocked as bispottis won't romance without a private place to do so ;)


also the game seems to want focus on langston and packing piñata while the first game made these challenges completely optional. Overall I am liking that game and will spend some more time with it over the weekend.
 
Does the game come with different cards at different stores? The my friend and I got the same 5 cards and we got ours at Target. The "Only at Target" sticker is actually printed on the cover so did other stores have different exclusive crap?

Also the game is amazing!

"Cards" plural? I got it at Gamestop and it came with one card inside - a double-sided one. One side has all the "human" characters behind a gold coin - I scanned it and have no idea what it did (I didn't get more money). The other side has a Pretztail wearing a garbage can lid. He popped right into the game when I finally got that card to scan.

But, really, the card is just a nice printed piece of paper - it is not card stock of any sort. So downloading/printing will be just as authentic :lol:.
