Viva Piñata - General Discussion & Piñata Trading - Demo Out Now
Ohhh Ok.

I'm going to be honest, I feel a bit overwhelmed in the game. I feel like I'm doing something wrong when I can't control everything, but I'm guessing that is how things are played.
Yeah, that's the point. Its for you to figure out what works best for the garden you want to have. I think I'm going to have to start a new garden next time I play. When I tried playing last week, I was lost, I havent visited my garden in a while so it was tough trying to figure out what I was doing.

I think my problem too is I was trying to keep every type of Pinata in the garden that I've had move in so far, but that just doesn't seem possible. Goodbye lil worm dudes!
You can mail stuff over live?!

Explain!
At about level 10 they explain it for you. Up until then you can't do it at all.

I need to add some CAGs to my friends list.

I suggest just keeping 2 Whirlms, as they will just keep coming back. Also I was trying to keep whatever I got too, but I just started to sell whatever I knew could get very easily (not counting getting them from the pinata hunter). So, I suggest just keeping the Pinatas that you personally like, or are "rare".

Yea I'm seeing that now. Right now My garden has ants, squirells (sp?), badgers, fox-like things, a snail and one of those evil birds turned good. Of course the occasional worm, bird and snake stops by, but I dont bother to mate them.

Has anyone been successful in creating a Pigxie (flying pig)? Its a cross breed of a Swan and a Pig (romance a pig with a swan). There's an achievement for this. My little sis tried it and was unsucessful. I tried it myself under her profile and couldnt accomplish it either. Any tips?

Did you remember to have Willy build the "Mystery House" for them to romance in?

Bought it at BB yesterday. Got the limited edition packaging (stupid plastic slipcase, it looks cool but it fucks up the feng shui of my game cases). Haven't opened it yet.

Is it worth playing? The closest thing I've seen for comparison is Animal Crossing for the GC, but I got bored with that relatively quickly - I don't want that to happen with Viva.

You bought it didn't you? Of course it is worth playing, especially if it is already sitting on your shelf.

Yeah, had the mystery house and the both had hearts and ready to be romanced but I couldn't get them to do it.

I had trouble romancing them also, but I fed them both Joy Candy (from Ivor) so their happiness was full, which seemed to help. Also make sure you have both of them go to each other, not just the Swanana going to the Rashberry or vice-versa.

Can you have more than one garden saved? Or does it just allow one garden and everyone who wants to play uses the same garden, much like Animal Crossing and the town.

You can have more than one garden, but your money and gardener rank are shared between them. So if you start a garden and make 25,000 coins, then make a new garden, you will have 25,000 coins there and at your first one, and whatever you spend at one garden will affect the amount you have in another.
Hope that makes sense.

I know, but buyer's remorse is a bitch.

so i checked online and all stores are sold out for in store pickup. should i risk the trip back and forth to 3 or 4 stores?? also this sale ends today? i wasnt planning to get it, but the price i too good to pass up

just get your ass to circuit city or another retailer and get it pricematched to worst buy. why does everyone think that you MUST buy it at worst buy?

Got all achievements except the playing for 50 hours one, anyone know how many in game days equals that much time?

i have not looked through the whole thread...but does anyone know how the hell to get the apple tree to grow apples? Mine is fairly big and it says that 0/12 spots will grow fruit. I've put red fertilizer on it and have been watering it and have recieved nothing.

Has it grown all the way? It has to be completely grown to grow fruit, and even then it takes a little time. Make sure you don't tap or hit the tree either, as then the fruit will drop and explode.

You have to put red fertilizer on it when the seed sprouts, it has to be before it becomes a tree. I believe you can only put 1 bag of red fertilizer. Eventually when you make the beggar a trader, he will have special fertilizer that should work every time and make your apple tree's bigger.
It is embarissing to have anyone watch me play it, but the game is strangely addicting and fun!
I totally agree!
If anyone grabs an extra THP8 from Target this week, I'll gladly trade VP LE for it.
I think the Thread Title means trading Pinatas....

Just got Viva Pinata for Christmas. I'm really out on a ledge here as I don't like RPGs that much but this game kept getting good reviews so I couldn't stay away. Plus, I got it from my in-laws so it's kind of a risk-free "investment" - I hope I like it.

Most people who play Viva Pinata like it, so you probably will. Also VP isn't really an RPG, its more of a Simulation type game, like the Sims or Animal Crossing.

I've never played those either but not for any real reason other than they didn't look that appealing to me and my backlog is huge.

The "tree" type plants (trees, and most/all bushes) can be fertilized 3 times just like regular plants. Just keep an eye on them, and when they drop leaves during growth is when you sprinkle the fertilizer on them for the bonus growth.

I didnt know that. I know some accept a maximum of 3 but the damn apple trees were only taking one. I'll have to try that out next time.

So I finally got my 360 and College Hoops 2K7 this game and Call of Duty 2 for free.

Cant wait to play this game in a little less then a hour or so.

i went crazy and picked this baby up a few hours ago for 50, i haven't popped it in yet. All they had was the LE edition, but oh well. can't wait to start playing >_

Gem trees also only take one, and IIRC, that is when they are almost full grown. I know, I've grown 4 for my Chewnicorns:D

I just recently came into this game and I haven't had much time with it, but what I have played I have loved. Basically, I'm tagging the thread in case I get stuck. But are there any tips/things I need to know that aren't explained or arent explained well?

I see you guys talking about fertilizing trees and plants. I've planted 2 fully grown apple trees and like 3 poison ivy bushes without using fertilizer. Does the fertilizer speed up the growing process?

And can your level go down if you sell pinatas? I'm a bit freaked to try it because I need money but don't want to risk going down a level.

You lose nothing by selling pinatas. Think of pinatas as just another resource like fruit or seeds or plants. A matter of fact, you will be required at some point to get rid of pinatas because your garden can only contain a limited amount of them at a time (36 I think?).

Alright siq. So now I'm not going to feel bad about selling off the pinatas I don't like.
