Hey Gamers !! I know it's been noted on a few other threads, but I wanted to personally confirm that the game deals are LIVE IN STORE!! After reading what others have said, I decided to take a chance since I'm only 5 mins away. Of course YMMV !!
I walked over to the electronics dept, (which surprisingly wasn't busy), asked the lady for XCOM Enemy Unknown for Xbox 360....(all prepared to play dumb if it rang up at $60)....but it rang up at $25.00 !! Plus tax it came to $27.33.
I didn't need anything else, since I racked up earlier in the day via Amazon & will be heading to the MS Store tonight. (@ 20min drive from my home)
Plus I couldn't find anyone that has lowered XCOM under $35 other than Walmart. I'm in Tempe, AZ....& all the games are still in the cases marked as they normally would be.
Take a chance if you like.....but I can't stress enough YMMV !!!

Game on everyone !!!

[quote name='ckc4043']Is Walmart call of duty black ops standard or first strike edition?[/QUOTE]
I think it is First Strike Edition, at least that's what I've been reading so far.

Also note that alot of the games are scattered I saw a ton around left around the furniture section slightly hidden. So if your dedicated dont give up at the display.

This, almost missed GT 5 XL edition if I wasn't willing to look around :bouncy:

Absolute insanity at my Walmart... not surprising because it's the only one in Los Angeles.

Show up at 7:30ish and plan to hide out in the store. Really only targeted two games: Borderlands 2 for myself, and WWE 13 as a Christmas present for my little brother. Talked to two lady employees, they said the sale went live at eight but it was alright to just hang around and hold onto the games I was going to buy. Awesome. Grab my copy, and a guy (wasn't even dressed in Walmart employee clothes) starts hassling me about people waiting in line. I ask him if he's even an employee, he says hes a security guard and that I can check those games out early if I get out of the store. Awesome. Walk over to the actual Walmart employees and they say no, put the games down and go wait in the line outside. So I had three separate Walmart employees tell me three separate things.

Wait in the line outside, finally get in, and they're not letting people up the escalator to the top floor. There's a line for the escalator but the employees don't seem to care about maintaining the order so people are just cutting. I try and tell the cutters to wait on line but they tell me to f*** off. Walmart employees just stand there dumbfounded.

Now I had scoped out the area before, around 730ish. Saw the giant pallett of 360 games and asked the most helpful-looking employee (hispanic dude with long hair, had a stoner vibe to him) if there was one with PS3 games, and he said there might be one in the back that they'll wheel out at 8:00. So I get up there, find the same guy, and he tells me there's no extra PS3 games. What they have in stock, behind the case, that's it for PS3 games. No additional copies purchased or anything. Luckily, there's a copy of Borderlands 2 behind the case, so I camp out, the associate gets it for me, then I go down a floor to the grocery section where cashiers are waiting around bored, literally no line, I walked up to someone and paid while everyone a level above me was waiting on lines that probably took 1-2 hours.

Didn't get WWE 13 (I regret not hiding a copy amongst the barbie dolls that I could grab later at 7:30...) so I got my brother Dead Island for $10 instead, which granted is a very fun game. Lot of problems with how Walmart handled certain issues, but at the end of the day I got my copy of Borderlands 2 so whatever.

[quote name='Jack_Frost']done shopping at walmart, idc how good their black friday deals may be. I went in to get some games and what they did was take some of the games and put them on sale and kept the rest behind glass and said they we're full price still. wtf? Fortunately I was still able to get the games I wanted only cause someone had put one back later on.

Other than that, I was able to grab other stuff I wanted (except laptop for my mom) but I cant stand smelly/ignorant/crazy customers anymore. Online only for me now

/rant[/QUOTE]

They tell you they are full price but they ring up as the sale price.. atleast they still did at 5am this morning when I went there.

I tried to get some games and the manager told me they were full price. I knew they weren't ringing up that way so I just said ok that's fine and I got 10 or so different games. He said are you really sure about this? And I said yes it's ok.

Why is walmart lying to their customers that it's not black friday prices? Do they know they're lying, or is the system just screwing up?

I plan on going back I wonder if they will fix the problem or if the games will be this price for a day or 2 more.

Had the best YMMV Walmart clearance find tonight of all nights. Went out to a Walmart in amish country that was slow last year, and found a box of $10 games that I wasn't going to pay attention to until i saw a guy holding a stack of 6-8 Darksiders 2 PS3. Seems like any game that remotely resembled a game on the black friday list was tossed in here even though they weren't on the list. All had to be overridden at the cash register too, pissed the people off behind me. $10 a pop, picked up Transformers FoC PS3, Tekken Tag 2 PS3, Skyward Sword Wii, Battlefield 3 Premium PS3, Mario Tennis 3DS. Guy wouldn't give up a Darksiders 2. Also in the bin and not purchased: DOA 5, Amalur, Lollipop Chainsaw, Reisdent Evil Racoon City or whatever, and lots of things I'm too tired to remember.

Thank you!

ps3 amazing spider man came up $15 for me! unexpected score, thought it was $25!!! thank goodness i got shutout from lightning deal yesterday. :)

I can confirm that the Black Ops that rings at 15 is either the version with First strike and the one without. At least both of them ring at 15 to me. good luck

I gotta thank OP for the info about prices were live before 8. My cousin and I went in at 7pm yesterday and there was a long line for the games in the grocery isle to wait for the pallet. My cousin and I go to gaming and see these people asking for the games in the display. The employee told them these games weren't on sale and that the sale games were in the grocery isle with a line. So we saw the games we wanted and asked him to get it. Since he didn't know which games were on sale exactly, he gave us Madden, Forza, and NFS. Brought us to the counter and checked us out. Got our games and left. Man I felt bad for doing that, but I didn't want to wait an extra 1-2 hours just to get 3 games. Felt like stealing for some reason lol

[quote name='mountainmohawk']Anyone find any Wii games that weren't listed in the ad? I saw Donkey Kong Country Returns for 25 bucks.[/QUOTE]

same. did you see any batman: ac? no where to be seen at the walmart i went to

I think the first mistake was going to the Walmart on Crenshaw. ;) the layout in that store is horrible and it's next to the mall which make it a mad house as well. Also it's too ghetto. But it makes for great stories.

[quote name='infini2001']So, were the deals for yesterday only, or are still working today?[/QUOTE]

They're still valid today if you can find any stock.

well they didnt have the games on the shelf so i stood in front of the games to snag me 2 forza horizons, my store only had 10 lol I got 2 forzas, gta4 complete, and spec ops the line. Was alot of crazy last min people trying to snag a copy o_O

Went to walmart to score gow saga and BM yet really wanted TT2 which i got earlier. Lady got pretty much told off my a sheriff good times.

Damn...went to WM at 12 midnight and it was dead! And I managed to score almost all the games I still wanted from go back carts! It was surreal. I was happy as a clam that I didn't have to go through the pandemonium that was Black Friday. Got every single game and Blu Ray on my list except for GOW Saga.

Finally got everything I wanted between 2 Wal-Marts and Target this morning for some Microsoft Points (plenty by the front registers). On a non-related video game note if anyone has a son or daughter that likes The Avengers or Star Wars The Clone Wars you might swing by the toy dept., they had blister packs leftover that contained 8 characters for 25 dollars.

I had to get GOW Saga from the game case, even though the labels said 39.99 , I still got it for 15.

holy shit

I just visited my WM and surprisingly most of the games like Borderlands, Most wanted, and Warfighter are still available in the cabinet. I did see a couple kids just let the parents buy Black Ops 2 at the original price.

I just went with my buddy, he bought a ton of blu-rays and BlOps 2. Everything was still in the glass case.

I just PM'd DoA5 and got Fast and the Furiois 1 on blu. Love me some cheesy movies with lots of car scenes.

sadly i got everything i wanted except WWE 13 on ps3 it was sold out at both walmarts i went to and amazon is being a bitch and wont PM saying they dont PM games dont know how you guys get them to do it as for WWE 13 i got it for the xbox 360 but i have no xbox live and dont intend on getting it

Just ordered WWE '13 [PS3] (ship to store), which worked out since the amazon lighting deal was a bust for me (not unexpected though).

It wasn't as bad today, I guess because it started Thursday. Games were in the glass case still. I think people got confused what was on sale if they didnt have colored stickers and promo stickers. Just to make sure even if it doesn't have that, it's still on sale?

Man Walmart was crazy last night a fight almost broke out as they started taking off the plastic from the video game pallets and once they were off it was a damn mob though did get all 3 games I wanted Forza Horizon, Medal of Honor Warfighter and Spec ops the line.

Tried to pick up Tekken Tag todayand was told it was only for sale yesterday. Not sure why they even call it Black Friday anymore if part of the sales are only on Thursday....

Strolled into walmart around 11 am, picked up dishonored and the sly collection. They still had pretty much everything except the sports titles, you just had to look through the carts scattered all over. Lots of movies left, but it was a cluster ****, grabbed lorax and Horton for the kids and got out of there.

This is definitely YMMV I'm sure, but I went to Wal-Mart at about 2:00 PM this afternoon. They had a cart labeled "ALL GAMES $10." I looked around in it and found a copy of WWE '13, LBP Karting, and Max Payne 3. I knew those were supposed to be $25 and $15 respectively, so I went to the electronics counter and said, "I found these in that $10 cart, but that's not what they are, right?" He looked at them and said, "No, they are $10. We had a $10, $15, and $25 cart, but we moved them all into the $10 cart at noon to try and move the rest of them."

So, those 3 games for $30. I went home and canceled my Amazon orders.

A couple of my buddies went (I got all mine earlier) and one of them stayed back, the other was there to get a couple things and apparently the mob was so bad they flipped the palette over.

@Daz, geez dude...that lady was biting. And all that fighting, wasnt that for those prepaid Nextel phones? ...really? I wouldn't have thought anyone would be in a hurry to buy a Go phone nowadays

how are people getting ship to store to work?

For example I want to get Borderlands 2 Xbox 360 but the store I set on my profile doesn't have it. Under "Pickup Information"

Code:

The ps3 is in stock however I do not see a ship to store option

Got in line for a TV at my Super Walmart in Mesa, AZ at about 8:30 AM for my parents yesterday. They arrived to take my place, so I decided to go take a look at the video games! I was just hoping to get the LEGO games for the 360 and was hoping that maybe they would be in their own little display while the Maddens and the Call of Duties and stuff were big enough to garner THEIR own displays. And then maybe ticket taking or lines or SOMETHING for the bigger games like that.

Nope!

What do we get instead? Picture the big broad "action aisle" that forms the border between the grocery section and apparel, about maybe 90 feet long 15 feet wide, dotted with palettes covered with big cardboard boxes. At the front of the store is the ONLY Xbox 360 game display, followed by 4 or 5 DVD/Bluray displays, then in the middle the ONLY Wii game display, followed by 4 or 5 more DVD/Bluray displays, and then ending with the ONLY PS3 game display. The cardboard covers are scheduled to be removed at 7PM, and the games available to be bought at 8PM, but until then we all line up at... where's the line? Oh, there is no line, we're supposed to just sort of crowd around and press into the grocery aisles and the women's clothing and the bad watches on display and wait? Oh...

As it gets closer to 7, more and more people come, confused as to whether or not Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 is part of the sale, confused as to where Assassin's Creed 3 is going to be, etc. The crowd is three people deep and 30 feet around by the time they remove the cardboard, and I find out that each side of this palette is dedicated to a specific price range, and I'm on the 360 controller side of the palette. fuck. I move from the front of the crowd on the controller side to the back of the crowd on the $15 game side in front of my precious Lego Batman 2. I end up in front of two giant 6'3", 225lbs+ dudes and next to a twelve-year-old girl and her 4'10" twenty-year-older sister and shoot the shit with all of them about what we want. Everybody wants MW3, Black Ops, AC3, Madden13... I just want to see LEGO Hermione turn LEGO Ron into a rubber frog!

The crowd grows more and more as it gets closer to 8PM, the cops are there and it's one cop + one worker to a palette. The cops keep yelling at people to press further into the grocery aisles to make way for traffic, eventually putting tape down, but the line keeps getting pressed bit by bit over the tape until we get yelled at again. Finally, over the intercom, the voice of Walmart thanks us for showing up, and announces to let the shopping begin! A beat passes, everybody leans in, poised to make an immediate grab for what they want, and a customer in the crowd yells out "GO!" In that instant, I make an evaluation, and I decide not to "go."

When you see Black Friday as depicted on YouTube or the news, you always see people diving and being crushed and tripping and falling and bare asses hanging out, but it has to be the worst of it, rare and infrequent, right? Maybe not. Immediately everyone closes in on the display like every zombie movie you've ever seen, and I see the 4'10" girl go down. Three seconds in the cardboard display gives way under the weight and everyone goes down, someone throws games into the air and people scream. I see one of the 6'3" dudes on top of everyone with his bare ass hanging out of his jeans. A dude has to be pulled up as he scoots away from the crowd on his back. Cardboard from the display is thrown from the center and into the crowd and strikes a little girl. A woman crawls away on her knees with a copy of NCAA2k13. 30 seconds later the employees and cops have cleared everyone away and EVERYTHING is gone, including half of the fucking CARDBOARD from the DISPLAY. The little twelve-year-old girl runs up to me out of breath, shoves a copy of LEGO Batman 2 into my hands, with the plastic wrap ripped and tattered, and says "YOU WANTED THIS, RIGHT? HERE YOU GO!" Holy shit. Everyone is trading what they got in their mad scramble so I call out asking if anyone has an Xbox LEGO Harry Potter they don't want, and a nine-year-old boy with fresh bruises on his arms hands me one. Jesus Christ!

I ended up finding LEGO Batman 1 in a less traumatizing way just discarded in an aisle, but I still had to get a new soundbar for my parents' new TV, and that meant braving the 10PM electronics reveal in the exact same smash and grab format as the video games. I knew what to expect this time, so I asked someone next to me in the crowd if I could stand in front of their (turned sideways) cart right before it hit 10PM... and it was like hiding behind a rock as a dam gave way. Everyone slammed into the cardboard displays and each other with a sound that I could only compare to the Michael Bay-exaggerated sound of football players slamming into each other after the ball is snapped.

I actually ended up getting everything I wanted, but all either from waiting in line with tickets or after the struggle is already over. Incredibly dangerous, I don't think I'll be doing that shit again.

Pyramid, it sounds like you live in an area with many... what I call 'undesirables'. What is the demographic like around that store?

Tried ship to store earlier today on Red Dead and GOW Saga. Both got cancelled in a couple hours. So I ventured up to the store an hour ago and they had several copies of Red Dead there. Unfortunately, no GOW. They did have everything else though, BL2, TT2, AC3, NFSMW... etc. I was shocked they had so much left.( Lake Saint Louis, MO).

[quote name='pasolini']well, i had an unexpectedly pleasant excursion to Walmart at 1:30am in Phoenix. After striking out on Lego Batman 2 on Amazon, i figured i'd see if it was 'in stock' anywhere in the area (i know, i know)
There's a walmart about 5 miles from me in Tempe, not the one i usually go to. I went for the heck of it, parked pretty much right in front, walked in, hardly anyone but employees in there. walked back to the electronics, and there were piles of random games all over the checkout stand. I grabbed batman 2 and the lady said there were more games by 'grocery', so i headed over there and the display was pretty much full of every single game that was part of the sale, literally. I snagged Sly, Gran Turismo and a blu ray, headed up to the ONE SINGLE cash register open, no one else in line, was out of there in 5 minutes. The cashier said just an hour before, every register was going and there were people everywhere. I can't believe it. Maybe I'm liking the weird black friday/brown thursday setup this year after all.[/QUOTE]

Did you go to the one on Southern? We ended up going to the Mesa one on Dobson just because it was one of the bigger ones and thus, we thought, more inventory.
