We should take GGT#50 AND PUSH IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!
I know Star War's is receiving some pretty mediocre reviews, but I'm having a blast.
I played for a few hours, and I have no complaints this far. I love the fact that the Saber Crystals are much easier to find this time, and the fact Star has two lightsabers. I can understand some people saying he's a little overpowered, but honestly that just adds to the fun for me. Ultimate destruction FTW! If you want more of a challenge, play it on a higher difficulty, but at the moment I'm content kicking ass. Graphics are beautiful and I have already run into a couple familiar faces ;)
Playing through Prequel locations = :puke:

Everything but
Dagobah
so far, and you didn't do anything there!!

Shank makes me feel badass.

One of the complaints I heard story-wise was the fact that the entire game felt like cheap fan-fiction.

I felt like the original (TFU) fell in pretty nicely between Eps 3 and 4. From what I've seen in the trailer the sequels setup is just contrived.

Reminds me that its almost time for my yearly rewatch of the Star Wars Trilogy.

It's worse than fanfic. It's like someone wrote fanfic to incorporate mandated locations and some set pieces the designers wanted to make.

Yep and yep.

And what the heck is that dallowperv? It must be bad, 'cause it doesn't even load in Firefox for me. :cold:

In honor of HALLOWEEN, BITCHES, I popped in The Suffering. Bought it a few years back but only played for an hour or so before it got thrown into the backlog, my last save was September of 2009.
I'm watching some Fable 3 footage. The "Menu" seems like the dumbest idea Peter has ever come up with.
I actually like it. It doesn't have to load so it's all quickly accessed.

I've been enjoying the game quite a bit.
Who's importing?

The game has a "panic" button in case a family member steps into the room. The game calls it the "Mom has come" button.
It immediately turns the game into an innocuous 8-bit pixel game thing.
I'm all over that...

posted this a few threads back, but whatever. I'm always for some tentacle action.

currently learning to code in processing... awesome stuff.

I bought a JPSN ¥1000 code on Play-Asia. They give you the code instantly now if you order the digital option which is awesome. No more dealing with eBay.

Bought Malicious which is only ¥800.
It's really nice. Twitch action meets.... Mega Man?

Loving RB3 so far with the keyboard, though they didn't need to bother putting a certain song on one of the keyboard career goals when I'm just pushing two notes down every 30 seconds ("Need You Tonight" by INXS if you're wondering).

I can't understand or read Japanese so I was pretty lost, but all those girls sounded constipated. But from what I saw, the game looks like it could be every basement dweller's game fantasy. Get the lotion ready pervs.

Man, as much as I love and enjoy NBA 2K11, the rubber band AI can go fuck itself in it's diarrhea ass. How the hell can I be up by 10-20 the whole fucking game and then lose in the last 2 minutes? I restarted the game 3 times and it was the same outcome all 3 times! It's like Kainzero mentioned one time about the game deciding everything for you. Frustrating.
Whoaaa, England? You just studying abroad for the semester, or do you actually go somewhere over there?
I'm doing Film Studies here for a full program, at the University Of Warwick. It's pretty magnificent if I say so myself.
Thanks for the help guys, I'll be taking a look at some monitors, i take it i'd have to buy some speakers for sound as well? I have a set of ipod speakers with an AUX input, is that good enough or do I need something better?

EDIT: This might also seem like a silly question, but can I use a UK Xbox Live card to get Live for a North American Live account?

You'd need something like this to connecy the VGA adapter audio to the iPod speakers:

And I have no idea about the UK/NA Live cards compatibility

Supposedly the Live sub cards are region free (Points are not however) so it should work, but maybe test it with a monthly card or something before you commit too much.

Don't forget you could get a code from Amazon for Live.

Looks like it was about ~$17 for the code?
How hard is it to navigate/understand what's going on in Malicious?
Is it like Naruto:GNT4 where you need help to navigate the menu, but the controls are simple enough to learn?
Or is it something more like importing an RPG where everything's in Japanese and you're pretty lost but button mashing and having fun?

$16.90 for ¥1000

Main menu in English, trophies too.
Options menu in Japanese but it's small and easy to figure out.

Almost no Japanese story text aside from the short intro.

You choose which "world" boss you go too first and you take a new ability after you defeat them that is boss specific ala Mega Man.

I could triple jump to start with, beat one boss and got his "air" abilities. I then could do six (!) jumps, float, and got wings.

PS2 yearly sales dropped year after year past it's second full year of being released.
Even though it dropped, it was still a shitload of sales.
Same with Wii which is still selling more than PS2 did in same amount of time.

I don't understand why Yoshi's Island isn't on that disc. it's SMW2. And it's better than all the games before it.

I know the original release of SMA didn't have it, but it seems like Nintendo doesn't care about the game, since it's the only mario game not on the VC yet.

Edit: The Lara Croft DLC/patch situation is absolutely ridiculous. This game would have been getting 10s if it had online coop from the start in every version. Now it's all over the fucking place. The 360 gets a patch + DLC first, now the PC version has the patch but no DLC, PS3 version is supposed to get the patch + DLC at some undetermined point later. Good job Eidos! Day 1 for all that shit, but still, there's gonna be no fanfare when the game is quietly patched to be "feature complete" in many people's eyes.

It wasn't SMW2 in Japan though I thought.

And it's not on VC because it can't do games that used SuperFX stuff last I read.

that makes sense. I think it's the SuperFX2 or something else--isn't star fox up? Yoshi's Island doesn't work on any emulator, so I guess there's some big issue with it.

They could do the GBA version, but it's not quite as good...the original has some mellow charm to it that gets lost in the GBA's more pastel pallet and addition of Yoshi sounds for all of his moves. Not to mention the SNES sound chip is incredible.

StarFox 64 is up I think. But not the original.

Yeah, Yoshi's Island is pretty much perfect.

How was the DS sequel?
I have it but haven't started it.

I really liked Yoshi's Island, the game was just all around charming. Also, the level with those floaty spore things that made Yoshi trip out was funny. I can't really name very many recent games which have had such a colorful world either.

Yoshi's Island 2 was seriously like... one of the most disappointing games of all time. It was kinda like a fan-made sequel to Yoshi's Island in that there was no polish... and the level designs all sucked, and spreading the game onto two screens was stupid and didn't work well. If you find a copy of the game, you should break it.
