What is your opinion on my crazy friend? (Details Inside)

Correction, I said I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I keep hearing different things and I'm just thinking about what to do because I am having second thoughts about the entire dozen.

Stand outside the florist and try to sell them individually while convincing hard-up guys on the merits of giving 1 rose as opposed to a dozen. Maybe he'll make enough to buy back the CDX.
 
You did the right thing, I buy GF flowers all the time. For her birthday, for valentines day, just for whatever. You know what it works. It makes her happy and that makes me happy. I think you got your priorties straight. If it works out and your sitting there with her in your arms no amount of games can match that. Trust me. I'll be rooting for you man!!!

One more thing. Don't bring her a single rose. Take them all, and lay it all out there. "Look I think your amazing, and I think we could have something special together" If it works great if it doesn't at least you took the chance and didn't chicken out.

Thanks for the support r1s3n! I think i'll just do it, dozen and all. If it works, then it works, if it doesn't then at least i tried. You just brightened up my day! I gave her a half dozen for sweetest day and she thought it was sweet. Maybe it was because i was the only person that got her anything for sweetest day?

it started in the 20's but the real meaning of it was to give underpriveleged kids candy and whatnot....it was "revived" in the 90's as valentines day 2.0
 
Red roses are overdone. Once a guy went all over the place for Valentine's day to find me lavender roses (cause that's my favorite color) now that's sweet. But unfortunately I was slightly taken aback because no one had ever given me anything on Valentine's Day and I'm a pseudotree-hugger so I'm more pro-chocolate or plushes. Flowers unfortunately die and unless you press them right they will only be a fleeting memory.
A dozen roses for 50 is a little much.
My BF knows how to treat me for Valentine's Day, he got me Doshin the Giant and I got him X-Men Legends, now thats a gift =D
Hopefully he'll get me some chocolate when it goes on sale at his work... :crosses fingers:

I don't think it ever made it to MA.

edit: just looked it up, it seems it's bigger in some areas that others. The biggest areas are detroit, celeland and buffalo.

That's how it's done. You have time to develop and understand what would make someone happy. She could be a girl that really like flowers. Flowers are definitely safer than chocolate, I've heard horror stories about females going off on guys who got them chocolate. Sad but true.
Good luck. All the power to you. I didn't have guts in high school and I was never asked out, but now I have a wonderful relationship and we're living together.
Develop as much as you can in high school. You'll need it ;)
 
Don't over complicate things. I'm sure she'll love the flowers. To be honest I haven't met a single girl who didn't love getting roses. You know what every single time I did they were so happy. The flowers while they are beautiful and smell nice it's the thought that they respond to. The fact that you cared enough, and got them for her. But thats just my opinion of course.

yeah me and shooby are from cleveland area. its a 2nd valentines day in october and yes it is just another excuse to spend money!
 
What are some good song's to slow dance to? I've got Monica- For You I Will, George Micheals- Kissing a Fool, and a couple others that I can't think of at the moment. Any you can think of would help me and it would be greatly appreciated!

Shouldn't you ask her out, take her to dinner, coffee or something first? Taking her back to your place isn't usually the first step.

I prefer to slow dance to classical music really.
 
If everything goes as planned, we'll be hanging out at world's game store. We usually hang out there on the weekends. Last friday she wanted someone to slowdance with her but I just sat there, which was a bad decision on my part, but not this friday, cause like I said I'm planning on doing something about my shyness.

That's always good. I've always thought like hmm, a well-timed 'line' can be really sweet (IE Girl says she's not pretty and you come up to her and say something like you really are) but I don't seem to be able to capitalize very often. Shyness is a huge problem, for me at least.

Be careful not to compliment too much, I have that problem. I'm naturally whipped (seriously, I'm spineless) around women and had someone get pissed off at me once since every time she insulted herself I complimented her or said that wasn't right. Even though I did mean what I was saying.

Gestures are somewhat important too. Keep yourself open to conversation, don't be stand offish. Open the bloody door, I always notice when a guy opens a door for me. Shyness for me was a problem too, just get her talking about something you are comfortable talking about, music, games whatever... once you get into a comfortable topic it should be easy to adjust to being less shy and more open. If you need any other insights into female thinking, I'm here and I'm very open to discuss.
 
I usually try do be a gentleman when shes around. Do you think it's better for the guy to be the leader and to take charge of the situation? Cause I usually don't get around to doing that.

some girls like when the guy can pick up the reins, others don't. You're shy so she'll probably understand you not being forward and taking control, but once you get comfortable you might want to try taking charge.
Try to assess the situation. One thing I would recommend, since you fumbled on the slow dance before, if you get another oppurtunity, take it. I know how hard it can be when your shy and you really like someone, you just need to get in there and fight, you know? I always used to ask, would it be worse if I never knew what would happen, or if I mess up, trust me, if you make a mistake, it's better that you tried and it will help you in the end.

I think that I might try to gather up the courage and take charge a little, tomorrow. Your right, better to have tried and fail, then never tried at all. Seriously though man, when you get to be old enough, you'll likely sell off alot of your old stuff to pay for bills/tuition/alcohol and the sort. At least the CDX, which was probably more collected than played, will teach him a lifelong lesson.

Hey everybody, just got done walking her to work and actually talked more. I had her smiling. :D \:D/
I'm going to go over there and talk to her in a bit, so I'll be back on after a while, and man was I nervous!
 
Just got done talking with her and she liked the flowers. She probably coming over tonight to worlds store. Hopefully I'll have some good luck so Stay tuned.............
 
I took the roses over to where she works before she got there. Then I talked to her for a little bit and then walked her to work. She said that she liked them and what not. I found out that she was cutting them up and throwing them around at work and that she has a boyfriend now. :( He was at her work so I got to see him.

Then world let us stay at the gamestore. My other friend was supposed to keep the friend of the one I like busy while she came over so I could talk with her. But she tried to bring her boyfriend over to and world said no because he knows how I am. If he would of came in, I wouldn't have said anything about it cause I don't like to start trouble.

After all this I think I'll just let it be how it is and give up or what not and try to be friends with her, if possible, even though I still like her a bit. But thats just how it is some time so I'll just deal with it. Thanks for all the help and support, really appreciated! :)
