What was the last CD you bought? - The Sequel

Have listened to the new Foo Fighters album a handful of times now. It's damn good. I'd agree with reviews that say it's the best since their first 2 albums. Just a kick ass rock album.

I picked up the live mastodon album and Gorillaz "the fall". Pretty excited. I was really hoping to find a copy of the tron soundtrack but no luck. If anybody finds an extra I'll pay cost + shipping + extra $ for your trouble :)
Surprised nobody posted anything for Record Store Day yet! I went to my first Record Store Day and they had a lot of cool stuff, even though most was pretty expensive ($60 for Mastodon's Live At The Aragon, no thanks). I didn't know they also gave you a nice bag with free shit too. At first I was like "Oh wow, free stuff, I wonder what they gave me." Then I realized why it's free, it's all garbage that I'll likely throw away. The only thing I wanted that my store didn't have was the Deftones Covers 12". But I got the following:

AC/DC - Shoot To Thrill/War Machine 7"
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Fire/Hot To Touch 7"
ZZ Top/Mastodon - Just Got Paid 7"
Foo Fighters - Medium Rare 12"
Tron Legacy Translucence 10" (they forgot to ring this one up, score!)
Went to Record Store Day and picked up that Deftones album. Although starting last year, our local indie chain (Dimple Records) only allows you 1 freebie rather than giving you a bagful like they used to do. Hell I can get more freebies on an average day there than I can now on Record Store Day.

Also grabbed the live Decemberists CD they had for release today. Other than those, not much I was looking for this year.

I got to my local record store (CD Central in Lexington) at 11:30 and most everything was cleaned out. It was already getting packed with people waiting for My Morning Jacket to arrive. I wanted to hang out and meet Jim James but it's a small place and I will just look forward to their show tomorrow.

I did get these though:

Pearl Jam - Vs. (LP)
Pearl Jam - Vitalogy (LP)
Nickel Creek - Why Should the Fire Die? (LP)
My Morning Jacket - Circuital (12" Single LP) [Only 600 made and only available in Louisville and Lexington]

Yeah, not many great releases.....

I got for myself:

Television - Live at the Old Waldorf (2xLP, white)
Beach Boys, The - Good Vibrations/Heroes and Villians (10" single, pretty packaging)
Queen - Keep Yourself Alive/Son and Daughter (7" single)
Kate Bush - Hounds of Love (10" EP)
Jimi Hendrix - Fire (CD, 3 track single)

Wanted but not available:

Various - Franz Ferdinand (covers)
Antony & the Johnsons - Swanlights
Velvet Underground - Foggy Notion
Bad Brains - Pay to Cum
probably some more

Went to three stores... two blew my friend and I off and basically told us to get out when we inquired about record store day items... even though they were listed on the website. Third store had nice/helpful employees that apologized for not having much in stock. Didn't find anything I wanted, no TRON, no Gorillaz, no Dio. :( Ended up buying comics.

My local store has been listed for the last 3 years but this was the first year that they actually got stuff. I called when they opened and the chick told me they got 50+ albums. When I got there, there were 12 records left. I asked what happened and she told me that the employees bought most of them before the store opened :bomb:

Damn I forgot about bad brains. My store didn't have it anyway :/

Whoa, UK got a Smiths album 10" and New Order/Joy Division split single? Dang!
Expensive on ebay too..... I'll have to pony it up though. Guess I'll sell my Kate Bush to get those two.

That comes with the stereo version of each album as well right? Up to Sgt Peppers?

Does it count if I buy something on iTunes? If so, I'm getting Burzum's new one tonight. I've listened to the whole thing piecemeal on youtube and really love a couple of the songs. Jeg Faller is, dare I say, catchy.

Sure, I sometimes post things I buy on iTunes just because it's difficult or too expensive to get physically.

Graveyard- Hisingen Blues

This is not one of those bands that are like lets do a throwback to clasic rock. This album is real classic rock that sounds like early 70's but it came out yesterday . Great album.

Stereo mixes of Help! and Rubber Soul are included, but they're the original 1965 stereo mixes, not the 2009 remastered stereo mixes.

Abbey Road, Let it Be, and Yellow Submarine aren't included in the Mono box set because they were never mixed in mono originally. I bought Abbey Road already, so now I just need to pick up the other two. The nice thing about the remastered stereo albums is that they're all available individually, whereas the mono remasters are available only in the box set.

Nice pickups the final AFI album before they started becoming more goth rock than punk/hardcore. I Get Wet is a fun album and Andrew WK is just a fun band. :) Ever seen em live?
Unearth is one of the few metalcore bands I like.

Thanks! I Want to see Andrew WK live since I heard he's great, but the only time he's been here is either Warped Tour or like really out of no where surprise shows. Though my friend saw him last year at Warped Tour walking around and they traded shirts.

And yeah, Unearth I fell into after listening to The March and thought it was great so now just picking up some more. That and something about the guitar work on it that I just love as well.

Your welcome and that's a shame he doesn't do many club shows anymore. I saw him twice right after I Get Wet came out and then once when his second album came out. So, your friend got one of his white t-shirts I take it? That is too awesome! :D

I noticed the same thing with Unearth, they can truly play especially on guitar. My first time seeing them was the first time they were on the second stage at Ozzfest and they really impressed me. They truly tore the house down with their performance.

Yup, they traded and soon as he came home he put it in a ziplock bag to preserve for future smelling or something. I'm not sure, but it does make me more disappointed I wasn't able to see him live...Going to Warped Tour as a whole, mehhhhh.
It's only available from the IAMX Boutique:
http://shop.strato.de/epages/15482160.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15482160/Products/CD_VT

Fair warning: shipping costs are ridiculous.

IAMX has 4 other amazing albums that should be easier to track down in the US. Unfortunately, the new one just doesn't have stateside distribution yet.
I have their other three albums (not the remix album)

I'll wait until I can get it here cheap, the mp3's are fine for now.

Which ATDI album was it?

Yeah it did, I was pleasantly surprised. The Aaliyah one had a DVD as well, and the FOB was the 2 disc deluxe edition. None of these things I realized until I went to listen to them when I got home, lol.
Which ATDI album was it?
I'm not sure, it had One-Armed Scissor on it though, which is why I'm regretting it. *facepalm*

Vinyl:
Head & The Heart- S/T
Fleet foxes-Helplessness Blues
Piebald vol I-III RSD version

@goodbyetonight: the ATDI is " Relationship of Command."

Thursday - No Devolucion

I haven't listened to Thursday in a long time, I read a review of the album and how they have changed their style for the better and are no longer post-hardcore. This album is amazing, in fact, it's one of the best albums this year thus far.

That would be "Relationship of Command" if you have the means, I would go back and snatch that up asap!

Been listening to VHIII while I've been typing this up(and checking the wrestling thread). It's okay, but I can't help but feel underwhelmed. I'm not quite sure what I expected it to be like, but this hasn't been it, so far.
