That's Scamco for you. They love DLC.

$7.49 for one add-on course for Tiger Woods 09? What the fuck is EA smoking?

Nice update though. I think I'll check out Eternal Sonata, BioShock, and Brothers in Arms demos.

Oh man, that Live 365 DNA stuff is $19.99! Why did I think that was free/part of the retail game? Shit, I'm returning Live and just going with 2K09...kind of what I was gonna do anyway, I guess.

It is included with the game, but only if you buy it new or get lucky with a used copy that it was activated for. The add-on is only for people that bought it used. Check here for clarification on that.

Shit, I'm returning Live and just going with 2K09...kind of what I was gonna do anyway, I guess.
I'm not even going to buy 2k9 because I haven't been too happy with the way the PS3 versions have been handled over the years. Live 09 played great and looked great (both PS3/360 was identical), so it's my basketball game of choice this year.
Linger in Shadows is out next week. No, it's not a game, but it looks cool anyway.
It is because it has trophies, but it's about as much of a non-game as something like Mainichi Issho is but in a completely different way.

I'm still trying to figure out what they'll charge for this "non-game". I wouldn't be surprised if they try $9.99, which will be a "no thank you" from me.

not really. it's an interactive work by a demo-scene.

here's a good way to get a grasp of it:

http://www.theprodukkt.com/demoscene

i reallt think it's going to be oddly received, but demoscene people will love it. I also expect an unusually small file size.

I guess this is easier: A tech demo?

that's simplifying it way too much though. Demoscenes are great. download one that I posted to get a good idea and take into note file size while watching it.
Since they put trophies in it, I really doubt it's free. ;)
That cat thing is free and it has trophies.
They wouldn't give it trophies if it didn't have some kind of interactive/game-like aspect to it.
I'm thinking you can probably move the camera a little bit, and seeing certain things will get you trophies.
I'm thinking you can probably move the camera a little bit, and seeing certain things will get you trophies.
it'll be more than that. you'll be able to not just move the camera but manipulate certain things.

I bought wipeout so I could listen to the tracks and play it on my psp.
I like the slims control pad better than the dual shock 3 for that game.
I hope wipeout xl and 3 come out soon and aren't much more than 100 megs.
Wipeout was like 75 and is providing me with hours of nostalgia. The first song in that game is so badass.

I dunno, if they kept doing free themes and made the pay themes really exceptional and cheap, I wouldn't mind.
And no, I didn't respond "yes" to that survey--I didn't even get that survey.

I guess that explains the paid ones I saw on the Japanese PS Store yesterday. They're still doing the free ones and I think only companies that do paid ones on XBL are doing paid ones here. It's not going to be a big deal if these are extra ones beyond the ones we normally get.

Yeah actually I tried to edit that post but the school network made me log in on every page so I said fuck it.

Basically if it is for licensed material (i.e. Detroit Lions, UofM) then it is not that bad. I would pay a dollar for a Lions one.
Plus we can still download or make any custom ones for free.

And honestly, the average gamer doesn't give a fuck about BC.

OT, but as long there is a large PS2 installed base and it keeps selling well enough on top of that, Sony has little to no incentive to continue pursuing BC on PS3. They really should just concentrate on bringing the PS3 price down and keep working on solid first party game software anyway. As Frisky said, the paid themes aren't a big deal unless they stop free themes altogether.

JPN psn has patapon 2 and fallout 3 videos up now.

EDIT: Valkaryie Chronicles up on PSN now. There's also a nice WIPEOUT HD theme out too.. There's other things too but I know these are most worth mentioning.

EDIT2: JPN added more videos and one of them happen to be Metal Gear Online:Meme expansion and tekken .

There's a nice Fallout 3 Pip-Boy 3000 Theme in the Euro PS Store for those that want all of the free themes they can get. There are three Valkyria Chronicles themes in the Japanese PS Store if you want those, though they're not great for legibility of the XMB text.

Also, the Valkyria Chronicles demo is out on the Euro PS Store for those that don't want to pony up the $3 for Qore later today.

Stupid question, how do I get a Euro account?
