Well crap, I've got a $20 PSN card sitting here and figured I'd pick up Gunstar Heroes, Unbound Saga and Pixeljunk Shooter. And then they go and release Battle Fantasia.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for things to show up in the Amazon PSN store? I have that credit from a BF purchase (and currently no money in my PSN account) and thus would like to use it to get the LBP water pack. They have so much other LBP stuff I figure they will have it eventually. The kids are playing water levels online right now but they will want it soon so they can create levels. I can probably hold them off till tomorrow but that's it (unless I know specifically when Amazon will get with the program).

I don't know if this is the usual sort of schedule, but I know PJ Shooter showed up the following Monday. Also, be careful, I think some amazon credits don't work on downloads.

Well, this is specifically Amazon PSN store credit (from buying GT5 Prologue during BF). I need to use it by March. Monday would suck - the kids want it right now ;).

Niiiice, a meaty update in time for Xmas. I'll probably pick up Battle Fantasia when it drops in the Amazon PSN store. Lots of interesting demos I'd like to try and Pulse too...

Definitely picking up Gunstar Heroes at that price. I'll wait on Battle Fantasia and the Burnout bundle since I'll probably be playing whatever games I'll be getting for Christmas. I also have a feeling I'll be getting a PSN card or two from relatives that know me, but not that well

Still, awesome updates from the PSN these past few weeks, let's hope this continues in 2010.

They finally have a section for Minis that work on the PS3, which is located in the What's New section of the PSN section of the XMB in the middle of the third row.

Alien Havoc
Blast
Bloons
Bubble Trubble
Circles
D-Cube Planet
Echoes
Fieldrunners
Funky Punch
Fortix
Hero of Spartix
Heracles Chariot Racing
Kahoots
Pinball Fantasies
Spot the Differences!
Sudoku
Stand O'Food
Vempire

nice... thanks frisky! i wonder if they are upscaled in anyway.

edit: n/m minis look ugly on the ps3 :x

I picked up Gunstar Heroes, and I definitely recommend it to everyone who's on the fence. It reminds me of a mix between Mega Man and Contra. Its pretty short, but for $3, its completely worth it.

is there any difference between battle fantasia on the PS3 then the 360?

Just wondering simply be it not the best fighter but quirky and I think the 360 version is $19.99 at Gamestop now.

Did anyone pick up the Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity demo from the Japanese Store? I was thinking of trying it, but wasnt sure if it was worth making a JP account to get a demo I will likely not be able to understand.

fuck - Amazon has the LBP Pirates costume pack but not the level kit. WTF!? My kids want it now (I've put them off for 2 days already). Oh well, I'll have to buy a PSN card and use that since Amazon failed me.

Grabbed Gunstar Heroes, the ability to save at any time during the stage is fucking awesome. No trudging through a stage over and over to die during one specific section just before a check point. Though it is quite annoying that it takes something like EIGHT clicks to load the game instead of selecting to "continue" from the last checkpoint.

I'm sure most are aware, but the Genesis Collection game is the same way (made by the same company) and it's pretty damn good if you'd rather emulate on your PS3 than your computer.

The new Pulse has a Top 10 list of the most downloaded PSN games of 2009:

1. Battlefield 1943
2. Fat Princess
3. Flower
4. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
5. Mortal Kombat II
6. TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled
7. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
8. Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty
9. Worms
10. Wheel of Fortune
I am absolutely shocked that FF7 is not on that list. Does it exclude PSOne Classics?
It's just PSN games, not PS1 or PSP games.

i am pretty disappointed with how minis run on the ps3, i tried fieldrunners and besides it looking poorly, it lags terribly. :(
It's very confusing but I can see potential.
You should have a JPN account anyway though.
Did you get a chance to watch the "battle guide" video? It seemed to indicate that attacks could be charged and that crossing the run paths would allow you to do some kind of special attacks.

All in all, I really liked it. It looked fantastic and after seeing the weapon customization from the trailers I could see real potential. I would like to figure out the more advanced attacks because I could see the battles getting monotonous without some variety in the attacks.

@Frisky: Are you planning on setting up one of the dedicated game threads for this?

I have $30 PSN. I plan on purchasing the best VC DLC so that leaves me with $27. Any suggestions? What are the Pixeljunk games like?

There are demos for each of the games in the pack. Racers is a party/minigame collection based around a slotcar racing mechanic, Monsters is a tower defense game, and Eden is a platformer.
There's no update this week.
Really? Interesting. I just saw on Live that Borderlands got the new DLC. When is it coming out for the PS3?

Next week.
There is no taking MKII off that list, is there?
NO. Because Mortal Kombat II is the resident troll of PSN. I honestly have no fucking idea how it managed to pull off this miracle, but it has managed to stay there ever since it came out. The only difference is it fell down a bit and spent most of 2007-2008 in the Top or 2nd place slot. To this day I wonder how this game manages to outclass everything. Silent Hill? Resident Evil? Metal Gear Solid? LOL Mortal Kombat II outranks you alls.
$5.
Joust is also five dollars, yet you don't see that game always on the top ten. Infact, I don't even remember Joust ever being on the list.

MK2 is $5 and it's a game a lot of people have nostalgia for. Not many people give a fuck about Joust.

Seriously? I am much more nostalgic about Joust than I am MK2. Multiplayer Joust is a brilliant time.

I think so..... believe all those titles were supposed to have online.
I bought MKII and Rampart. I don't recommend Rampart (bad arcade controls) but MKII works fine online.
