Who else plays Urban Dead?

I went out to the Hallet tonight and starting bonking the zombies there with my axe. I had maybe 42-ish AP and I landed 11 hits, not bad.

Though I just saw this pop up in the game:
 • Visey said "St Pius's Hospital's barricades are down, and Zeds tearing the survivers apart as I speak. Generator is offline so couldn't call for help." (3 minutes ago)

There are ten zeds outside Pius' at the moment.

If any of you have AP and are looking for a fight, feel free to have at em. Be wary though, some might actually be online at the time, and start fighting back.

Pius'? Shit, on my way.

EDIT: Pius' is fine, but there are four zombies inside Matheos', just to the south-east of Pius'. Opening fire now.

EDIT2: Three zombies in there now. I was only at half AP, so I couldn't do much damage. I contented myself to just using my revolver one one zombie instead of shotgunning them all.

Yo Yo Yo I'm 'bout to level up, bitch!

Free Running it is, and I think that until I get both melee skills, I'm just going to stick to healing. I get about 5 XP per 3-4 AP on average.

I'm up to 43 XP and creeping my way up. There is a lone zombie on Clissold Road that I hacked twice with an axe. I also healed him twice for 10 extra XP - sorry, I need XP!
crap i got killed. wheres the nearest place i can go to get revived? im still in ketchell bank.
The Wiki for that suburb lists St. Matthias's church as a revive point. Or you could shuffle your way to Darvall Heights and have Crotch revive you.

Finally made it guys, i'm in Pirrie Park right next to the hallett, waiting for my AP to regenerate. If anyone can wander over to me i'd apreciate a revive.

i just realized in my frantic running that im in richmond hills and im just a few shuffles from a revive point in Scanlon Crescent so hopefully its still up and running and i can get an assist.

Interesting messages from Zod in Euty's:

Zod Rhombus said "Potbelly Punch, sounds like you are quoting from We Are The Strange movie. Heh. What a weird trip that was." (33 minutes ago)

Zod Rhombus said "Latrobe is fine, EHB with 60+ survivors inside. Even Caiger has no zed activity. I guess the horde gave up on it." (29 minutes ago)

Zod Rhombus said "Hallett is another story. Your future Cheap Ass HQ has a zed inside at 57HP adn 5 outside. I caded it to VSB+2 and I'm gonna see about clearing it with you guys. It wasn't ransacked so I'm thinking its some low level zeds." (24 minutes ago)

Zod Rhombus said "You guys definitely need freerunning and construction asap when leveling up. Toolboxes are good to have also. If you want, and since you're in a hospital, I can send our injured here for some healing to help you guys level up some." (22 minutes ago)

Zod Rhombus said "We're trying to get Crossman stable enough to use for ammo searching. We are working with the MCDU and what's left of LCD to stabilize the area up there." (19 minutes ago)

Getting additional injured people into the hospital so that we can heal them and level up faster sounds like a good idea to me. I know we don't want to align with any groups per se, but this just sounds like a friendly gesture.

Thanks....:applause:

I will use my last syringe on you. One moment.

EDIT: Done. What happened to you, Walrus? Regardless, we've got a horde to clear. The Hallet has been ruined and has one zombie inside - it's not a pinata thankfully, but there are still a lot outside. St. Matheos' is also getting its ass kicked. Someone kill the zombie inside the Hallet - the rest of us should focus on St. Matheos'. I guess I should start talking anti-siege strategy here.

Killing zombies outside of buildings doesn't help. They just get up. Killing zombies inside buildings is important. Most important, however, is keeping barricades up so that the zombies can't flood in. Do not overbarricade when zombies are inside - if you do, I don't think you can dump the bodies outside.

Dammit, man. Those things are worth 30 frigging AP. Just save up 2 AP and try to get in to Eutchian's. The Hallet has a zombie in it. And that was my last one!

Right now I made an expidition and am holed up somewhere in Stanbury Village. I passed a firestation with 20 zombies inside. I will be trying to make it to the Seritin building to broadcast on the radio. Forget about the radio the building got ransacked so if you're by me go to the Stollery Building.

If I want to meet up with you guys where are you?

St. Eutychian's is supposed to be at VS permanently...

EDIT: Joliet, the barricades were at VS when I logged on. Humans can walk through those.

Doh, didn't know that. Still learning.:whistle2:#

Edit: I'm in and asleep. Should have enough AP to attack a couple of times later today.

Looks like you're in the hospital now.

I'm at about 75 XP. What should be my first skill? I was thinking Freerunning, which would help me get resources like ammo so I can kill for more XP. Or should I just pick a melee skill? I've been doing pretty well with a knife and I have no melee skills at all, with the extra chance of getting a hit I'd really kick ass.

Gotcha, Crotch. I should of started with a fireman but it's a little too late for that. I guess I would need to get weapon skills in the long run anyway, it just means I'll be leveling up a bit slower than those who already have the melee skills.

I'm no veteran, but you might want to consider going for diagnosis after you get free-running so you don't waste AP trying to heal people who don't need it (unless this doesn't take an AP but I was fairly sure it did). Healing seems to be a popular way to gain exp at lower levels, and then you can grab a melee skill with your next level up, or possibly Ankle Grab if you plan on dying a lot.

Edit: With 30AP I managed to get the zombie in Hallett from 57HP down to 30HP.

Nice job. Just logged in, and it looks like Hallett was ruined...its name is completely black and red.

That is the track I am going to take. Free Running, Diagnosis, and then probably Construction.

Medics should start with Diagnosis instead of the lame extra 5 HP per heal. That skill actually costs Medics XP when they are first starting because it allows for less heals per survivor.

A few people who can revivify would be nice, though.
My human has actually died very few times. I went months and months before my first death. Granted, I haven't been putting him in heavy siege situations, but he's still lasted a long time. I recommend holding off on ankle grab (a zombie skill that reduces AP needed to stand) until you've got the basics of the human purchased. Whatever you do, don't get brain rot.

EDIT: I'm a few buildings north of you guys for the night. Restocking on ammo. Spent ten AP and only found one clip - no shells. fuck. Walrus, I hope you're well armed - the hospital to our southeast really needs help.

You search buildings for them. Some are more likely to yield certian weapons than others. Police departments should be good for guns, fire departments for fire axes.

You can also find axes in garages. For beginners, I recommend you focus on axes for combat. You can also gain EXP early on by scanning zombie DNA or healing. Early in the game, guns are far too inaccurate to function as a dominant weapon. I'm level 40, and even I only use them in emergency-ish situations.

EDIT: Whoever does kill the zombie in the Hallet, make sure you drag his corpse outside! Otherwise, he can turn the building into a pinata. And remember, our primary focus should be on defending the hospital to our southeast.

A shot gun should be fairly accurate imo. Thats what they're designed for, so that almost anyone can hit something with them.

I searched the hospital and i found another newspaper, thats two so far...:applause:

Without training, the shotgun is hideously inaccurate. Remember, this is supposed to be a semi-realistic take on a zombie apocalypse. Most untrained civilians would probably be pretty poor shots if they had to dodge zombie claws left and right.

With max. training, both revolvers and shotguns have a 65% chance of hitting. I think the flare gun only gets up to 15%.

fucking hell, i got another newspaper in the hospital. Did some newspaper boy die in the hospital or something!?!?!

I wanted a FAK to heal for some XP but at this rate it'll never happen.
You can de-check it in settings. I think you won't get them anymore.
No you will still find them, it's just the game will automatically drop them for you if you do find them.

All right, I'm finally here.

I bring with me a heavy sack with:
-pistol
-pistol clip x10
-shotgun
-shotgun shell x3
-flak jacket x2
-flare gun x4
-knife
-fak
-fire axe

*Zombie Update*
 • 11 zombies currently in St. Matheos's Hospital
 • 5 zombies in the Hallet Bldg
 • 1 zombie in Pirree Park with roughly 40xp (I only landed one damn hit, didn't do shit to them. Jer got a few in though.)

Shit. That's some very bad news bears. So much for my ammo scavenging - tomorrow, I waste every single god damn shotgun shell I have.

Also, Ry: Drop one of the flak jackets. And find more guns - spare rounds are nice, but having more guns (especially shotguns) is necessary. It's like an FPS - when there are no enemies around, you reload. If there are enemies? Just switch weapons and keep blasting.

I'm sticking with my fire axe for now. Just trying to save up for free running. I've been hacking away at the pirrie park zombie for a while.

I went zombie-bonking again tonight in front of St. Matheo's. With 45 AP to attack with after to-and-fro travel, I only hit 9 times. After doing better than average yesterday, I guess it balances out...but consarnit, I'm only 4 XP away from 100.

I'm still slightly worried about those zeds making their way up the row of hospitals. Maybe I'll save up some AP just in case something happens.

A note: sooner or later, St. Eutychian's may fall. If necessary, retreat to the garage just east of it. If that falls, go to the library.
