I think lilboo is planning on some "entertainment" for next monday. *shudder* ;)

Two (usually) mediocre games a week. That's what happened. I blame Nintendo.

Pretty much.

But hey at least this week is good. Maybe they will go back to 3 games a week once we hit a severe gaming drought in the Summer.

Yup, but that being said, is anyone really done with everything they want on the VC?

I'm sort of stalled towards the end of Zelda Link to the Past and once I'm done with that, a drunkenly-downloaded SMB2 - The Lost Levels awaits me. Even if I don't give up on that, I'll still be wrestling with it for at least a month. After that comes Breath of Fire 2 or Landstalker.

Anybody download Kirby 64? I'm waiting for a few impressions before I shell out the 1000 points for it. I've heard people on GAF complaining that it's short-lived and the action is extremely slow.

I got it and played through the first world in about 20 minutes. It's a little slow, and so far pretty easy, but I enjoy it and am glad with my purchase.

How many points are we talking about here?
Harvest Moon disagrees with you. And I agree with Harvest Moon.
Come on now.. a farming sim? Thats not even engaging when you're making money doing it.

It's kind of in-between. It's fun, but the 2nd player won't get nearly as much playtime. It's great to play with someone who's not so hot at games though, since most Kirby games aren't tough and as player two you can help them out when they have trouble.

I don't know what it is about Harvest Moon (The series, since each of the games are very similiar) but they are just really addicting. Have you played any of them? Rune Factory (DS) is incredible. It's an action/RPG... + farming sim all in 1. Good times.

Yea, I have Harvest Moon 64, and A Wonderful Life, due to them being recommended highly. They don't even feel like games to me :/
Hopefully that means we'll get Master System support soon, so I can play...
Uh...

...

Nope, can't think of anything.
I can:

Alex Kidd & The Lost Stars
Alex Kidd In High-Tech World
California Games (I always liked SMS version better)
Choplifter
Cyborg Hunter
Fantasy Zone 1 & 2
Gangster Town
Ghostbusters (which is one of the worst games I have ever played, but I played it so much as a kid that I want to play it again)
Golvellius: Valley of Doom
Hang-On
Kenseiden
Outrun
Penguin Land
Phantasy Star (the best one)
Psycho Fox
Space Harrier
Spy vs Spy
Wonder Boy III (OK, I already downloaded this as TG16 Dragon's Curse, so may be I don't need it again)

Played some Kirby 64 today. It's a pretty good game, but def slower then it should be.
The graphics in this game are pretty awesome. :applause:

The only game I'm interested in on the Sega MS is the original Phantasy Star. Its the only Phantasy Star that I haven't played, and I have always wanted to.

So yesterday I finally got to the point where I have no more room left on my Wii :D.

I got Lords of Thunder and Kirby 64 yesterday and I ended up with 44 blocks left of memory, bringing my VC game total up to like 23.

Both are fantastic games I must say but Lords of Thunder is kicking my ass.

It's incredibly hard, the way old RPGs were, and there's a ton of grinding, but it's still one of my all-time favorites in terms of presentation and overall play. It kept me busy for years as a kid. I went back and played through on the GBA a couple of years ago and it still kept me busy for many months. The dungeon 3-D effect is really clean and impressive even now.

That reminds me though, has Nintendo ever mentioned making Game Boy or Advance games available on the VC? I know they would probably have to put extra work into them to make them palatable on a normal-sized TV and Nintendo's against extra work on games for the VC, but there are a few games I'd be interested in playing on a screen bigger than 3".

I don't see why they can't. They could just put a border up like they did with the Super Game Boy.

The GBA Player already displays in 480p and fills up a decent amount of the screen on my HDTV (more than the new PSP via component cables I think), I'd love to see the GBC remakes of Dragon Warrior III and the Final Fantasy Legend games on the VC for 3-5 (probably 5 :( ) bucks each.

Whoa, VC-Reviews is showing two Commodore 64 games as upcoming, International Karate and Uridium. I'd heard that MSX was supposed to be coming (heard that a long-ass time ago, come to think of it - what's up?), but this is the first I've heard of C64.

EDIT: Press release from Nintendo Europe in case it hasn't been posted already:

21/02/2008
Commodore 64 games coming to Virtual Console 21 Feb. 2008 -Already a firm favourite with Wii owners, Virtual Console is once again expanding its catalogue, this time with the addition of a whole new games format. Later this year, Wii owners will be able to enjoy classic titles from the best selling personal computer of all time: the Commodore 64. These titles join classic gems from the likes of Nintendo, SEGA, Turbografx and NEOGEO already available via the Wii Shop Channel.
The release of the Commodore 64 in 1982 was an historic moment for the computer and video games industry. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it remains the best selling single computer model of all time, with an estimated 22 million units sold. Its immense popularity saw an unrivalled collection of over 4,000 rich games titles released through its production lifetime (1982-1994), helping to establish the C64 as a "gamers favourite."
Bala Keilman, CEO of Commodore Gaming, commented, "The massive impact the Commodore 64 had on video gaming is still evident today with many gamers remembering the computer and its games with great fondness. By working with Nintendo of Europe, we are ensuring that future generations of gamers can play some of the best and most popular titles that kick-started the computer games revolution and so keep the C64 legacy in gamers hearts."
Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of European Marketing & PR of Nintendo Europe added, "We are extremely pleased to be working with Commodore Gaming to provide even more retro hits for Wii owners to choose from on Virtual Console. With over 184 classic titles now available to enjoy, Virtual Console on Wii is a great way for users to access a breadth of classic retro games. We hope that this great choice of games will bring nostalgia to our gaming fans, while an entirely new generation of video game players can experience a host of classic games for the very first time."
Among the first titles from Commodore 64 which will be made available on Virtual Console are International Karate and Uridium. These great titles will be bolstered by regular updates from the Commodore 64 back catalogue.
Virtual Console games from Commodore 64 will be available from the Wii Shop Channel soon and can be downloaded for 500 Wii Points each. Currently these titles will only be available on the European Wii Shop Channel.

500 points for a C64 game? You could fit every game ever made for C64 into the same size or smaller download as a N64 game and they still want $5 each? Next we will get Atari 2600.
"Remember the 12 copies of Combat you got at various yard sales for $.50 each? The Virtual Console is proud to bring that joy back to you for only 800 Wii Points. Go download now, mind slaves!"

If we didn't have Alien Soldier and Sin and Punishment I would be disgusted by the way things are going on the VC. Seriously where the FUC is starfox 2 Miyamoto. The original smash bros should have been the first game released. Also, certain games demand online playability.

I hope I have good news in regards to Monday.
This could just be the result of someone being lazy, but apparently the press release will be given tomorrow OR Sunday.

..Again this could be because someone took a day off, but MAYBE this could be something big? Speculate. Now.
So nothing yet? Weird.
Its gotta be smash *HEAD ASPLODES*

Wait...if it is Smash, my wii is trapped at school...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Don't get excited :whistle2:(
Seriously, someone probably was drunk and was out beating up prostitutes yesterday. If we get something amazing, we will be even MORE excited.

Wii-kly Update: Five New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

This week's additions are to make all of you shut the hell up. Here's the damn games you've been wanting, so quit your bitching, okay? We just had to wait for Iwata and Miyamoto to take a vacation and sneak them out to you. Don't tell them we did this. If they ask, tell them this week's game was just Mario's Time Machine or something stupid like that, kay?

Earthbound (SNES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone 10 Wii Points): This is the game you want. Just buy it. It's only 10 Wii points, so everyone should buy multiple copies and send it to everyone you know. Good stuff.

Super Mario RPG (SNES 1 player, Rated E for Everyone Buy This Game, 1000000 Wii Points): Developed by Square, this RPG game is gonna set ya back 1 million Wii Points. But you will buy it regardless. Give us your cash. We like to swim around in it like Scrooge McDuck.

Shining Force II (Genesis, 1 player, Rated S for Sega Sucks, 1000 Wii Points): This game will make you remember why you bought a Genesis instead of a SNES. Its a great game, but they really just copied the idea from our Fire Emblem series, changed a couple things around, and voila. Sega hasn't had a good original idea since 1992. Sonic was really Miyamoto's idea, stolen by Sega by a hooker they hired to get him wasted and steal secrets from him.

Super Smash Bros. (N64, 4 players, Rated E for Ejaculation, 5000 Wii Points): We added online matchups to this classic N64 title, with a leaderboard, tournaments and everything. Voice chat is enabled, but you gotta buy the official 1st-party headpiece for an additional $50. Oh yeah, don't forget your new Friend Code.

TurboGrafx Shooter (TG-16, 1 player, Rated E for Eh, We HAD to have a TG16 Shooter, its in the contract, 600 Wii Points) We don't know which shooter this is. Who really cares though? You shumup geeks will buy it anyway, and everyone else will ignore it.
This is TRUE!!!
This is TRUE!!!
I just want you to know that you should die in the worst possible way.

I saw Earthbound before anything and my heart fluttered. And, now I weep.

Hey it could be true. I mean "TurboGrafx shooter" is included. That's a good indicator, strongly consistent with the past 900 months.
