A few tidbits have been released by Nintendo about the upcoming My Nintendo system.

- NNID, Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and e-mail can all be used to log in.

- Friend lists will be tied to My Nintendo Account rather than systems.

- Games purchased via My Nintendo on the Web can be passively downloaded onto the system.

- New Nintendo Direct confirmed before year's end.
How do I get coins. That's what I want to know.

Any hints anywhere about the "secret" games Nintendo still has to release for this year? Do they mean calendar year or fiscal year? Are these digital-only titles or physical titles also?

I'm pretty sure they meant 2015, and I'm guessing the games are digital because Nintendo has prior digital games that were released shortly after their announcement. Otherwise Nintendo will be announcing a retail game after they've started production.

Although, wasn't Devil's Third supposed to have a physical release this year? They still haven't announced anything about it. So, I guess I could be wrong; it's hard to tell with NOA.

As for what it could be, no hints so have a "Twilight Princess HD using texture's more reminiscent of Skyward Sword than the original" rumor instead.

Look, here, let me kill your hype for Devil's Third. It's supposed to be a stylish action shooter hybrid... but it has regenerating health. And not NG2 style, Gears style.

Bam. Your hype is kill.

They're probably happy to have us forget about this one and just let it slip under the radar as much as possible.

Nobody called me out with a "B-b-b-but Vanquish." Good. Vanquish was a disappointment.

Just like these sales. Frisky, you could just post: "This week: Some more crap." and save you some time.

Vanquish was cool as hell but it never felt like the mechanics worked. At the end of the day, it was still a regen health shooter with mostly hitscan enemies. So it was never going to truly get as crazy as I would have liked. Instead it was just sorta slide, slow-mo pop, stop, recharge, repeat, and if you take a single hit you get to go hide in cover for thirty seconds.

I've been so distracted by Mario  Maker that I haven't played much attention to the eShop. Are any of those exclusives good? (I'm taking non Mario, Zelda games.)

Also, what's the deal with "Wii Points"?   I have $10 at the eShop and it says $0 when I go to Wii Mode.

Wii Points are the Wii Shop currency for WiiWare and Wii Virtual Console games that only works for the Wii Shop. The Wii U eShop just uses cash.

Reminder: If you are getting the physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, download the free data packs online (in the DLC menu) to cut down loading times.

The Xenoblade Chronicles X DLC to help with loading times for the retail version are on the eShop, which will require about 10.5 GB of space and is crazy that it needs that for the loading times to be improved.

Any more crazy than PS4/XB1 games installing 40+ GB for the same basic reasons? Optical drives are slow ,the assets are large, and most modern engines do a lot of streaming.

Except that is all done automatically when you put the disc in so you're done in a minute instead of a few hours after this is done downloading once you find it in the eShop. This also seems like the first Nintendo game has even remotely needed this sort of thing.

Well yeah, Nintendo went and Nintendo'd it up but I suspect it's also a result of the PS4/XB1 being specifically designed for that and the Wii U needing to have it shoehorned in for select games. I think we're all hoping/expecting that this will be the most next gen game on the Wii U by a long shot.

TW101 needed something like this streaming BAD. But I haven't tried the digital version. The load times are probably just as brutal there too.

Not sure if that increase in speed is worth the 10GB space. Fast travel seemed much better, but the rest was not a huge improvement. The real question is, can you download and install the packs... play the game for awhile... then un-install the packs if you need the space for something else, but still not disrupt your game or your saves.

A number of the links go to Nintendo special holiday page where you can buy a code for them to gift to others, if you want to go that route.

As a reminder, Best Buy will be putting eShop cards on sale for 15% off on Black Friday.

Can anyone vouch for kirby return to dreamland? I have heard good things about it and was thinking of buying it.
The main appeal for most is that it went out of print quickly and prices skyrocketed, so this is by far the cheapest option there is for this Kirby title. It's not too dissimilar from New Super Mario Bros. Wii in that it's a single-player game where three friends can join to help out, though there's less chaos since you can't attack each other.

Pushmo World is almost an auto-buy. Unless they reprinted Pikmin 3, it's damn near impossible to find physical and should be an auto-buy digital. Everyone only remembers Pikmin 3 after they rattle off TW101 and Bayo 2 and Splatoon but it is excellent.

That would involve buying a WiiU back when it had fuck all on it. I missed that time period.

Given the comparative quality, that would be getting Pikmin 3 with MK8 on the side.

But yes, that deal was a hell of a deal. Even now it would be a great deal. I don't think MK8 has been under $30 (At $30, yes.) and Pikmin 3 sure as hell hasn't been $30.

The real deal was buying multiple copies to get all the free games. With the trade-in values at the time, I got five games for about $80.

Argh, I paid full price for AVGN Adventures a week ago. Oh well, still a good game.

If I were to buy Metroid Fusion, would I be able to play it on 3DS XL?   That $129 deal at Walmart is very tempting.
