Will Joel finally leave his fiancee in GGT 132? No, he is a bad person.
That's actually what my last 3 purchases were. Weird, I don't know why that tripped it.
To prevent fraud? I don't have a damned clue, this is why I don't buy from them anymore. Thank god amazon lets you trade in crap nobody wants.
Icebeast, how do DS games look/play on the 3DS?

I've heard they look worse. They basically stretch them to fit the screen's new resolution.
(this is my understanding anyway.)
Apparently there's a way to play them in their native resolutions (with borders, of course)
Basically what linkpwns said, but even if you don't apply the stretching (and have the black bars) it still looks a bit off (a little more blurry, streched obviously increases the blurriness) compared to how it looks on a normal DS. Overall you can mostly get used to it (although playing DS games on the 3DS is also a bit of a pain if you are planning anything long term away from a power outlet since it's battery life also isn't great). After I had played Pokemon on the 3DS for a bunch of hours I didn't really notice it too much anymore since I was used to how the 3DS makes things look, but if you switch back to a regular DS it's really apparent again.

As far as how they play all the games I've used on the 3DS have worked just like they did on the regular DS.

Everytime I call and ask they aways say it's the computer that flagged the account because of my purchases and they can never tell me exactly why. Truth, I'm probably going to make the jump to trading exclusively with Amazon just to avoid dealing with all this bullshit.
I'm watching Dinner for Shmucks and I think I just realized that I kind of like insane women. I guess you can learn something new about yourself everyday.

I think all of the GGT could have told you that.

Picked up Ghost Recon Shadow Wars for $17 at Target for my first retail 3DS game, which is good so far after playing the first few missions. Somehow Ubisoft manages to make one good handheld game amongst the many pieces of crap that they unleash upon the handhelds each year.

The only other 3DS game that I have right now is Mario's Picross, which is really good after completing half of the easy puzzles yesterday. It's a good way to spend $4, though now I have an odd amount of change left since they don't allow you to charge the exact amount.

Is there no way to change the 3DS' clock from a 24 hour clock to the standard 12 hour clock?

Like shit. :booty:

Again with the lost odyssey? The only reason that game even gets praise is because there's a lack of JRPGs this generation. It's okay, but it's like Legend of Dragoon quality.

I think LO is kind of special. Kaim and Seth are great characters (and Jansen as great comic relief) and the short stories really add an emotional layer to the game. Art direction, music, and the balanced combat are all positive aspects as well.

On the other hand, the central story is pretty weak so far to me, but I'm not done yet so who knows. Cutscenes are pretty shoddy, and the overall pacing of the game and dungeon designs are nothing short of primitive and tedious.

I don't know, it's one of those average JRPGs that's cooler than most average JRPGS. And it's hype train was huge back when it came out, so I'm not really surprised by all the devout fans I see on boards.

Don't get your hopes up too much for the main story. It has an interesting ending, but it never really became the focus for me. I was always far more interested in the characters and side stories than the main one. As for the hype train thing, I don't know, I think it's kind of garnered a cult following as time goes on rather than relying on the initial hype.
Excellent game.
No it isn't. That's one of the biggest wastes of time I've ever played through.

This is pretty much it. I also hated Gongora. And the whole "whoop de doo, look, I managed to wander into my grandkids lives just as their mother dies even though I don't remember it.". Ugh. Cooke and Mack were annoying mostly too. It's like Hope somehow split into two younger kids, male AND female.

They were the opposite of Hope. Games and movies tend to make kids annoying in 2 different ways. It's either a super angsty brat, or an innocent child who cues in for a hammy line.

Cooke and Mack are the latter.

I expect kids to be annoying, but the cliches are really getting old.

I dunno.. what I remember was Cooke and Mack trying to be all "strong and adult" which is the opposite of "defeated and blaming someone else" like Hope. But really, all I heard was whining about their moms dying. So that's probably when I thought it was similar.

Hope becomes a meh character when he goes a bit overboard with the revenge concept. Hating him because he's a pissed kid who watched some douche canoe kill his mom? I don't know, that's kind of an odd criticism. Just as Vanille gets a bit annoying in the later half of the game as well because she loses most of her character(and accent, lol) in favor of the typical lets-hug-all-the bunnies attitude games and movies so often assign children.

Like I'm not criticizing the LO kids because they cried about their mom, they're annoying because they are there to just superficially pull at your heart strings. Cooke drop kicks a city guard because he's going to pick a flower. And every scene is just them chiming in about miracles, love, and examples of how perfect little grandchildren they are. It's not cute, any kid who acted like this in real life would be diagnosed with something.

I fought monsters with them for 5 hours and now we enter a haunted swamp and their suddenly crying and clinging to their grandma. Get this shit out of my games.

Well of course! It kind of makes sense.

At least they didn't whine about random stupid shit like Hope.
Maybe corrosive just doesn't like kids who lost their mothers at a young age.
Where's the quiet kid who doesn't really talk and is introverted and untrusting because he watched his mom die? That sounds more like something I could sympathize with/relate to.
Indignate, yeah, it's a realistic concern for realistic characters. But the characters of Hope/Mack/Cooke aren't really realistic. Especially Mack and Cooke. :)

Plenty of people would be pissed if Snow killed their mother ;)

Though honestly, what a terrible mom. "Hold on sweety, I'm going to get into a firefight for no apparent reason"

Yeah, they are definitely over-the-top corny happy kids, but I'll take that over the opposite (Hope) any day. They do become less of a focus later on though, and the best kid of all joins your party.

So much Hope
Even so, every single one of them will fill a generic JRPG stereotype.

The memories were by far the best part of LO. Everything else was pretty standard JRPG fare.

I've thought about putting down the game and just watching the dreams on YouTube. I try to read one from the game before I shut it off for the night.

For me, part of the effectiveness of the dreams though comes from the fact that they are Kaim's memories revealed to you as you play through the game, while seeing his character currently as well. Additionally, they are kind of like a reward when you find them in the game, so simply seeing them by themselves wouldn't be as good. Plus, I think the characters in the game are great as well, and that's one of the other things that made the game really stand out to me.
I don't know what age they decide to make it a real character, but I've seen plenty of ~20 year olds that are well made.
I liked Neku from TWEWY. I think he's 15/16 in game. He starts out pretty bad, almost Cloud-like, but develops quite well throughout the game.

I tried reading the first couple and they didn't draw me in. I collected them all for the cheevo, I think, but that's about it.

Isn't Agito not the name for that game anymore? (The PSP one.) I thought they dropped the XIII Agito and called it FF:Type-0 or something now.

Trufax. Shoes are seriously my most pondered clothing expense. That may be because I can never find a size that fits me, though.

So for those of you that don't follow me on Twitter (and therfore only know half the story), here's what happened today:
Tried to order Oblivion GOTY on GS' site and got banned, so I headed to the store to pick it up. After about 15 minutes of the employees searching for it they find it in a big cabinet full of garbage and instead of looking at it and being like, "Wtf is this sitting next to shredded paper and a halved Wiimote?" they sell it to me. After getting outside I look into the bag and notice that there's only disc 1 in the case, so I head back in and they're like, "Dude, weren't you JUST in here like 2 secs ago?" and I explain there's only 1 disc in there so they explain to me that that's the only copy and give me my credit back. I also learned that apparently that's not the first time it happened that day, they also somehow had 3 extra copies of the Halo 3 MP disc from ODST. So someone totally sucks at taking trades.
Yeah I'm just tired of getting converse. Cheap and look good, but only for 2 months or so.

fucking hipster. :nottalking:

I'm tempted to buy the New Vegas DLC, even though it would cost more than the game does now. . .

Just beat Mass Effect 2! I totally hope that Jack and Kasumi are party members for ME3 because they totally completed Female Shepard's bad ass girl team. (Plus I'd love to get more back story on Kasumi since when you talk to her she mentions her heists and they all sound so interesting (and sometimes her reason for stealing the item was funny), but her dialog and integration into ME2 felt too limited since she was a DLC character).

fuck YES. I own a pair of the desert boots, everyone keeps asking what kind of shoes they are. Great pair to wear with jeans and semi casual. They do run big, so get a size or half size smaller than your normal foot size.

yeah i hear they last years and only look better with wear. my Sands should be in sometime this week. unfortunately my student Prime is all dried up on amazon.

Totally agree about Kasumi. I really loved her and really wanted to know more about her and her adventures. I doubt she'll be in ME3 as a squadmate, but I totally wish she was.

And now like 30 minutes after beating ME2 I'm done with The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, which I finally beat after not ever being able to beat it as a kid (to be fair though I still found a lot of stuff where you had to guess what to do next and even as an adult I couldn't figure it out without using a guide, so no surprise I couldn't beat it when I was younger).

This just leaves Bulletstorm which I'm probably 2/3 of the way through and then I'll have finished all the games I'm currently working on, and be ready for my next endeavor which is almost certainly Persona 4.

I thought it was pretty good. You also get some really nice perks and weapons out of it.

Wow there are like 6 or 7 cop cars down in the street blocking off an intersection right near my apartment, not sure what happened, there is a van with all the doors open and cops everywhere, everything is taped off too.
