WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009

They really captured that unique head of his, especially his jaw. I would have preferred him to walk to the ring faster during his entrance, but we could always skip that part.

His stats look pretty acccurate. Again, as I have said with a lot of wrestlers, I'm surprised his stats are close to what I would have set them. I think his Durability should be a few digits lower, but the Overall at 82 makes up for it.

Melina must have done her own mo-cap entrance cause it's spot on. Though they could have at least given different colored hats to the paparazzi guys so they don't look so much like clones but I'm just nitpicking.

Tommy Dreamer looks like Tommy Dreamer, which is good. I am glad they put in his Man in the Box rip-off. I wish I could change it to Man in the Box.

That reminds me. I need to make Van Dam and set his entrance music as Walk by Kilgore. Van Dam had one of the best entrances in all of ECW.

"Re-spect, walk, what do you say?!"

Tommy at 86 surprises me. I figured they would tank his rating down to a high-70, low-80. Some of his numbers surprise me. Not because I don't adore Tommy, but because this is a WWE game.

I'm also glad they gave him the Spicolli driver.

Yep! It's eerily accurate.

I wish I was the guy who applied the mo-cap points. ;):whistle2:#

Lance Cade looks like he's doing his JR impression

Some of them look amazing, especially Layla, Melina, and Morrison

And I know Chase will be relieved to know Regal has his styled hair look rather than the moppish look he sports once in a while

Murdoch used the Code Red more than once? Interesting. Nice mutton chops, too.

And yes, Diddy, I am indeed very happy Regal is all suave and pretty. :bouncy: Makes me happy in pants.

Me:
Everyone else: :cold:

Oh, and much thanks for the link, 7th Number. I'll add it to the opening post.

Also, Taz looks very cartoon-y and, somehow, they managed to make Shawn Michaels look balder. :whistle2:#

Edit: Okay, it's about 70-percent realistic to 30-percent cartoon-y. Morrison looks real off, which is a bummer. That, and how we're not getting THEE Brian Kendrick.

*cries loudly*

Edit 2: Flair looks odd too. His hair is too pretty. MVP and Carlito look life-like. Which I dig, suckas.

I believe "walk" Is done by Pantera actually, not Kilgore.

I am also surprised they didn't put Dreamer on a lower stat number. Cause after all like you said, this is a WWE game.

You're right. Van Dam originally used the Pantera track, but before the release of the ECW soundtrack, he used the Kilgore cover. I actually prefer the Kilgore version. So, that's why I would use it over the orignal Pantera track. Blasphemy, I know.

It's all good! Just wanted to make sure why! No blasphemy at all really! I think we all miss his ECW performances!

While it's a bit lackluster now that the full character models have been released, I figure, "Why not?" ;)

I never did like the way Yuke's had the teres major back muscle move and look. It always looked too big. And yes, I looked up "back muscles" on Google.

One of his signature moves is the inverted atomic drop. I didn't know he had any signature moves. :whistle2:#

All this said, he at least looks like Lance Cade in the face. Unfortunately. :cold:

One of my favorite Van Dam matches is his All Japan match against Dan Kroffat/Phil Lafon. Fair warning, though, it's Van Dam before his glorious singlets. ;) Van Dam is one talented guy. I don't think he gets his due as a wrestler. Over the years, I have seen many people write him off due to his aerobatics. But really, he's a nice balance between spot-monkey (I'm looking at you, AJ Styles) and mat technician (like Dean Malenko).

Here's the first part:

Part two is listed in the Related Videos section. :bouncy:
Thanks for posting that match, Chase. Goddamn, now I miss RVD even more and I miss his airbrushed singlets.
Don't we all? I mean seriously. The WWE just abused him really and didn't promote him properly at all

I love pro-wrestling. I am always happy to provide what ever fan insight I can.

As Van Dam himself mentioned, I did not like how they simplified his personality or treated him in WWE. That said, Van Dam messed up his big push. He had a lot of momentum and could have seen quality main event time until his drug possession suspension. #-o

I Just hated when he basically got squashed at One Night Stand against Cena and it took Edge spearing Cena through a table for him to get a win and the belt. Though not as much as when RVD went against Stone Cold as part of the Alliance storyline and it was Austin basically beating him all over the place.

I'm glad they kept MVP's Space Bounce in the game.

More importantly... Yay! They created and assigned him the Shining Black! Well, a sidewards version. But it's good. Now, I can have a proper Chono/MVP bout. :bouncy:

I wonder if Yuke's broke down the Create-a-Move to where we could start off with a run, transition to a step-up, then finish it off with something else? Ever since Mutoh debuted the Shining Wizard, I always wanted to create a flying knee variant.

Yep. I wanted a cleaner victory against Cena but knew there was no way that would happen. I also disliked the "Thank you, Edge" chants. It just seemed desperate. Yeah, I know: we all wanted Van Dam to win, but the finish was just rubbish. I love Paul E., but having him count the three cheapened Van Dam's victory even more.

I Think it was summed up best during that match when Joey Styles said "Sure, we'll take it!" Soon as Edge took off the helmet. Though I got to admit, Edge's match that night made me realize I love to hate that man. Too fucking good at what he does (both match wise and making himself the biggest heal in the known universe).

*sigh* I Miss the screams of "VAN-TERMINATOR!!!!"

Would anyone be interested in a CAG WWE "league"? I know it's a month away from release date. I just want to give myself time to plan things out and possibly make some graphics.

While Yuke's have yet to debut the online mode, according to a recent Q&A, we will be able to play friends online. And that's really all we need for a league of sorts.

So yes, if you're interested in a CAG WWE, add "CAG WWE" to your friends list. Hopefully, there is some interest. It could get interesting. We could keep track of wins and loses, and stuff. I was thinking about first holding a King of the Ring tournament and possibly giving away something.

We will see! :bouncy:
Why did you have to bring that up? Now I feel even more compelled to pick up the game on release.
Hehehe! That was my plan. ;)

*twists mustache*

*laughs evilly*

Definitely interested in the CAGCW. ;)

So, when does MVP lose the "Power Ranger" attire? I read awhile ago that he wears it, because they wanted to cover up his "belly" until he built it up. Then again, it's the internet we're talking about.

I've heard it was either the stomach (which, to be fair, he still has... and the outfit isn't actually doing him any favors there) or that he had some sort of big tattoo on his chest or whatever.

In all honesty, it's never bothered me that much, nor does it detract from his work. Frankly, I never saw what the problem was in the first place.

This is the tattoo 007 is referring to.

I believe the reason why MVP still wears that outfit is to cover up the gang related tattoos he has.

Yep. It's definitely due to MVP's gang-related tattoos. Brief backstory for people who may not know (details provided by Wikipedia), "Burke first entered professional wrestling after completing 9½ years of an 18½ year prison sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping which he started at the age of sixteen. Burke entered the professional wrestling business through the help of a corrections officer in his prison who also worked as a wrestler in the independent circuit."

I'm glad he appears to have gotten his life back on track. MVP is quite a talent.

After being part of Men on a Mission and the Ministry as well as being a King of the Ring winner, Big Daddy V's most recent run in the WWE cast him as a smash-mouth Superstar who cleaned clocks in ECW. Big Daddy V would wrestle for the brand's championship, but he'd never attain it.

The Superstar was released from the WWE this past August.

Abilities
K.O.
Lock Pick
Hammer Throw
Object
Bloodshed

Signature Moves
Sidewalk Slam 6
Big Splash Pin

Finishers
Elbow Drop 11
Ghetto Drop
Soon as I saw Big Daddy V confirmed in it I somehow immediately thought "maybe we'll get BREDAN WALKER!"
That's BRADEN Walker...and he'll knock your brains out.
That's BRADEN Walker...and he'll knock your brains out.
I See someone got that 3 disc DVD set...

If Braden Walker miraculously made it into the game, I would have created a Walker, Texas Ranger Chuck Norris to pit against Braden. Or perhaps Conan O'Brien with a finishing move called "The Walker, Texas Ranger lever"? It would probably be a submission. :whistle2:k

Or you can do better and make a Pale Force tag team with Jim Gaffigan and Conan. Except Conan's finisher will be he'll start crying and then wet himself.

Man, I hope we'll be able to create such a move. That would be hysterical.

I Can only hope, but then again if the Gamecube WWE games let the divas have the finisher where they shake their ass and it knocks the person down. So I Can dream...

Though it was fun having Brock Lesnar steal that finisher or having Trish Stratus spit the green mist at Tajiri.
