BISCUITS N' GRAVY...MADE ME A MAN!

When it comes to Jesse & Festus, looks may be deceiving; however, WWE Superstars might be wise not to mess with these country boys.

Jesse, along with his partner and big buddy Festus, has finally made his way to SmackDown. In the weeks leading up to their debut, the pair introduced themselves by giving their opinions on a variety of subjects – from fame to fashion to WWE Magazine. Actually, it was Jesse giving their opinions, as Festus stared off in the distance with a blank look.

But don't let Jesse's country-bumpkin airs or Festus' looks fool you. As Michael Cole noted the night of their debut, Jesse has quite the amateur athletic background. And just as Jesse promised our fans about his big buddy, Festus is all business once the bell rings. Both men showed off those traits during their in-ring debut on the Oct. 5 Friday Night SmackDown, leading to their first WWE victory.

Together, Jesse & Festus would love nothing more than to make a major impact inside a WWE ring. With Jesse's amateur ability and Festus' sheer power, there's no telling what these two country boys can do. Source: WWE.com

When it comes to Jesse & Festus, looks may be deceiving; however, WWE Superstars might be wise not to mess with these country boys.

Festus, along with his partner and good buddy Jesse, has finally made his way to SmackDown. In the weeks leading up to their debut, the pair introduced themselves by giving their opinions on a variety of subjects – from fame to fashion to WWE Magazine. Actually, it was Jesse giving their opinions, as Festus stared off in the distance with a blank look.

But don't let that look fool you, because that…that is the face of a man who looks like a wrecking machine inside the squared circle. Jesse promised our fans that from bell to bell, Festus is all business – and the big man delivers on that promise. When they made their in-ring debut on the Oct. 5 Friday Night SmackDown, Festus literally transformed into a new man the moment the bell rang; once it rang again to signify the end of their debut victory, however, the placid, vacant look returned to his big, burly country mug.

Inside the ring, Festus' transformation is bad news for his opponents, and one can only wonder what the situation would be like if encountering the country boy in an elevator.

I absolutely love that they're including actual tag teams in SDvR '09 now. Cryme Tyme, Londrick, Mizorrison, Jesse & Festus, Ryder & Hawkins...very cool to see the underused divisions represented in the games.

I figured that rumor was wrong about a demo coming Monday. I'm pretty sure for 08 it was out already this time last year, but maybe I'm wrong. Surely I'm not the only one dieing for a demo... :D

Hehehe! My work here is done. :whistle2:#

I like the UK commercials for SVR09. "Alone, I cannot butter toast. Together, we can butter each other." :hot:

Got a chance to play the demo for ps3. I can't wait to play the 360 one. I some how think the 360 will be the best choice as it was last year. Anyway from the demo...
You can have a singles or a tag team match. It lets you pick Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, and Matt Hardy. Also I noticed when I went outside the ring it has a way different view than it use to did.

She's bubbly, she's beautiful and she's an object of desire for many men. She's Maria, and she's darn proud to call herself a WWE Diva. While many may think she's ditzy or absent-minded, there's one thing that's well-known: she's hot.

But hey, she wouldn't have it any other way. Maria has won many beauty pageants in her time, but she's not just all beauty. From kickboxing to sewing to dancing to working on cars, Maria's areas of expertise make her one of the best-rounded Divas in WWE.

After years of entering beauty pageants and an education at Northern Illinois University, the Ottawa, Ill., native struck it big by nearly making it to the end of the 2004 Diva Search. While she didn't win, our fans felt an immediate connection to her, and she quickly made her way to Raw as a backstage interviewer who wasn't afraid to ask any question, from the hard-hitting to the quirkily obvious. And of course, she looks great doing it, perhaps no more so than when Eugene doused her with chocolate milk after winning the World Tag Team Championship that year.

Since her debut in WWE, however, Maria's role has expanded by leaps and bounds. At first, she was tentative to step into the ring, but to this day she continues to learn the ropes and develop into an exciting and skilled performer. She also can be seen (or read, as it may be) lending her auto expertise to our fans in her very own WWE Magazine column every month. Another magazine our fans might be interested in perusing is the April 2008 issue of Playboy, in which Maria showed our fans what's under her hood, namely a racy chassis and va-va-voom curves.

If there's one other thing for sure about Maria, though, it's that while she radiates beauty, the girl her friends call "Boop" won't stop honing her craft until she wears the Women's gold around her waist. So watch out all you stars and studs in the locker room, because you never know when you're going to get your dose of Maria. Source: WWE.com

Our fans first saw Michelle McCool during 2004's Diva Search. Seeing a mix of beauty and love for WWE, she was brought to SmackDown. But there's so much more behind the beautiful face; there is strength, determination and inspiration.

Before coming to SmackDown, Michelle was a teacher in Florida — but her love for the business started well before that. Both her pappap (grandfather) and dad loved WWE, and brought Michelle along to a live event when she was 6. A little of the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes later, she was hooked.

With her motto "Faith to fight the good fight, heart to believe and soul to search within," McCool continues to inspire our fans with her words and strength. Source: WWE.com

Something feels very, very different about 09 this year, for the better.

Everything flows just a little bit smoother, the commentary seems spot-on and instantaneous right after I perform the move, the single player matches flow a bit smoother, and for the most part, they fixed the hair clipping glitch that has bothered me for years - when a wrestler turns his head, I always hated how the hair disappeared under their shoulder. I don't like that they removed the momentum stuff altogether, makes the guys no-sell moves.. or maybe that was just because I was fighting Triple H..

Triple H irish whipped me into a corner (I was Jeff Hardy) and as a reversal, I ran up the turnbuckle and did a backflip. It was pretty awesome.

Oh, and is it just me, or did they get the twist of fate backwards?...

SVR08 is now a Platinum Hits title. I assume THQ believes SVR09 will sell well regardless of a lack of U.S. demo. Those bastids.

Yeah I think they did. Matt Hardy does it correctly, but Jeff it is like inverted.

yea i was playing last nite, and i seen him do the twist of fate, i was like huh? lol
i like how they have the tag matches set up and its interesting to see my tag partner beat some1 up and i get the "build up" or waever u want to call it for that. it runs smooth as hell. the announcing of Lillian sucks alil tho. i think the signature/finisher setup is pretty good and can help make some nice strategies because people wont know what your going to do. ima WWE Smackdown head anyway, they could of had the same game as last yr and id bought. anything is better then TNA Impact. *pukes*

If you argue with the ref he says something. He said Hey, I'm just doing my job. Even though it was small that was still interesting, and also the crowd started chatting lets go hardy, and then switched to lets go triple h. I enjoyed that.

I dug the demo. If it had trophies, I'd buy it at launch. In the meantime, there are simply too many games coming out to justify me spending $60 on this.

yea i buy the Smackdown games no matter what the rating is. i love wrestling games. but the reviews and feedback(on here) were so horrid i had to rent it 1st. i was so disappointed in that game. i couldn't even finish the story. it was too repetitive. i felt like i was doing tag matches forever.

anyone been able to steal a finisher? i been trying to. but been having trouble, or maybe because its the demo.

also any1 had trouble doing HBK's finisher? different from last year. i finally did it but i realized u had to be in the corner i guess. cuz i always did the Figure Four.

Simply put, Jeff Hardy is an artist. His world revolves around writing "emoetry," recording music ("alternative, alternative music," according to his brother Matt), and employing tinfoil and paint to craft intimate, personal, and sometimes bizarre works of art. His house is decorated with toys, artificial plants and life-size Japanese fiberglass sculptures. One of his most cherished creations—a thirty-foot "Aluminummy" statue called Neroameee, from Nero, his middle name—stands tall outside his studio.

Still, this artist has always been drawn to another, very different canvas—that of the squared circle. Growing up with Matt in the pinewoods of Cameron, North Carolina, 11-year-old Jeff—influenced by the likes of Ric Flair, the Fabulous Freebirds, and the Rockers—took a ramp he built for his bike and painted it to resemble an entrance stage for his "wrestling ring," the backyard trampoline. As he grew older, so did his desire to take greater risks, whether it was to feel the rush of executing hundred-foot-high triples on his motorcross bike, or jumping off the roof of his house as a member of the brothers' "Teenage Wrestling Federation." It was such fearlessness and desire that would bring the 16-year-old daredevil to World Wrestling Entertainment, and after several years catapult him to worldwide fame and main-event status, first as one-half of WWE's high-flying "Team Extreme," The Hardys, then in singles competition.

Though many of his paintings are abstract, this free spirit is a Rembrandt inside the ring, signing his name not with the traditional paintbrush or pen, but with wildly unorthodox, high-impact maneuvers off top ropes and 20-foot ladders. His credo is simple: to create, then surpass his creation.

Unfortunately, most true artists must sink to their lowest point before attaining their greatest heights. For Jeff, the wear-and-tear of living life on the road would help prompt him to leave WWE in 2003. But after a three-year personal journey of refocusing his passion and energies, he now finds himself "in a positive place…and that's what motivates me." Since returning to WWE in August 2006, this reinspired risk-taker has gone back to creating the art he loves most—entertaining WWE fans in arenas around the world. And his most extreme masterpiece awaits. Source: WWE.com

In the ring, Matt Hardy lives his motto: "I will not die." Time and time again he has sacrificed his body for both the enjoyment of the fans, and the sport which he has loved so dearly for his entire life.

Matt came to the WWE in 1998 as a tag team specialist, teaming up with his brother Jeff to form the appropriately named The Hardys. While severely undersized, The Hardy's outstanding chemistry and unmatched heart carried them to stardom. The Hardys went on to become five-time World Tag Team Champions in WWE before breaking up in 2002.

In 2003, shortly after joining the SmackDown roster, Matt Hardy pursued the Cruiserweight Championship. After struggling for weeks to make the weight limit, Hardy defeated Kidman for the Championship at No Way Out '03.

After he won the title, Hardy endured an up and down rivalry with Rey Mysterio. Hardy got the best of Rey Mysterio in a controversial Championship match at WrestleMania 19. A month later however, Mysterio got his revenge, defeating Hardy for the Cruiserweight Championship on SmackDown. Source: WWE.com

Yeah, I got alternating chants as well. It was cool.

I hate the camera angles when you go outside the ring. The Raw HD set looks gorgeous though. Entrances are cool. PS3 version has that "first person mode" thing going for it again.

Yeah, you have to be in the corner. He tunes the band up, delivers, then falls on top for the pin, which I did like.

Like I said, everything just feels a bit tighter and flows a bit smoother (that's what she said). The spot-on commentary made a huge difference for me.

yea u should of seen me trying to do it for like 10mins and kept doing doin figure 4s. i was getting tight. i like how he does it this yr tho, i just wish it sounded alil more powerful when kicked. and yea the RAW HD set looks GREAT

The music seems a little fast in the demo.

As Scorch mentioned, I find the camera angles to be a bit weird. I assume it's to give the game a TV perspective.

I appreciate the inclusion of a guarded, crouched recovery stance. It reminds me of the AKI games. It would be nice if they gave us a move at that position or the option to grapple out of it.

And people still phase through the ropes. :whistle2:(

Overall, though, it feels fun. I look forward to putting time into the game.

Sports-entertainment has seen its share of immortals. There have been icons, some Great Ones, a few Olympians and a whole lot of legends. But there has only been one Showstopper, and he is Shawn Michaels.

In an industry where the hyperbole is the norm, there may not be enough ways to describe HBK. He is truly incomparable. Michaels has made a career of stealing the show – competing in matches that are talked about for years. His rivalries over a career spanning more than 20 years are truly the stuff of legends.

Michaels first started revolutionizing the sport during his partnership with Marty Jannetty as The Rockers. Their wars with "Playboy" Buddy Rose & Doug Sommers in the AWA and then the subsequent rivalries with The Hart Foundation and The Brain Busters in WWE changed the face of tag team wrestling and captured the imagination of our fans. Arguably, Michaels could have gone down as one of the greats if he had chosen to stay primarily in tag team competition. But HBK knew he could become an all-time great. One superkick to Jannetty during Brutus Beefcake's Barber Shop closed the door on a popular partnership and opened another to Michaels' legend.

HBK's career can't be just measured in titles, even though his trophy case is spilling over. He was WWE's first-ever Grand slam Champion, holding the European Championship, World Tag Team Championship, the Intercontinental Title and WWE Championship. He, along with Triple H, co-founded one of the greatest factions of all time, D-Generation X, whose popularity and anti-establishment philosophy continue to capture the imagination of our fans today. posted yesterday at GamingRing.com

Gaming Ring had some more time to check out Road to Wrestlemania over the past week and there defintely is some interesting developments.

By looking in the eyes of Randy Orton. Are you looking at the blue eyed killer who is capable of doing anything to play the ultimate mind game.

Is Batista and Rey Mysterio destined for greatness or is there dissention on the horizon.

No one should question John Cenas commitment and loyalty to his country. Maybe MVP will find out personally.

When in betterthanyoutopia you do as betterthanyoutopians do. Does that include stacking the deck against your opponent. Maybe?

What do you do when 2 of the most infamous factions are gunning for your services. Why Its time to play the game of course.

You know the other day I was thinking back about WCW. Do you ever miss the good old days when WCW superstars fought for the world championship belt? Nah neither do I.

Last time please notice I specifically mention 2 unlockable characters not superstars. Read into that as you will. There are superstars to be had in the RTW mode.

In the spirit of Halloween, stop me if you heard this joke before. A irish and italian zombie walk into the Arena.

Playstation 3 users will get a treat this year, they will get a jam packed collectors edition. This is one of the most jam packed collectors editions, that we at Gaming Ring have seen.

ps3ce.jpg

Available only on PS3, this ultra rare Collectors Edition, will be shipping in a collectible steel cage packaging

Includes WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 videogame, Exclusive WWE WrestleMania 24 Main Event Match: Edge vs Undertaker and a bonus WWE Legends of WrestleMania videogame trailer

Burke is a natural athlete and skilled fighter, and though he talks a big game, his extraordinary background speaks for itself. With an amateur boxing record of 103-1 (102 knockouts), Burke is a deadly, stand-up striker with fast, heavy-hitting hands.

Elijah Burke arrived in WWE in July 2006 on SmackDown. In his debut match, Burke used a barrage of quick hits and weakening holds to earn arguably the first of certainly many victories in his WWE career. Toting his ruthless signature move, The Elijah Express, Burke brought his domination to ECW in November to wreak havoc on the other ECW Superstars.

The self-proclaimed "Paragon of Virtue" formed the New Breed (with Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker and originally, Kevin Thorn) in early 2007 and waged war against Originals Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu and Sandman over control of ECW. CM Punk earned Burke's wrath when he infiltrated and tried to destroy the New Breed from within, and the two have had a heated rivalry ever since.
But the real object of Burke's desire is the ECW World Title, and he believes he is destined to wear the gold someday. And he is determined not to let anyone - especially a certain Straightedge Superstar - stand in his way. Source: WWE.com

Video of the wrestler select screen.[/QUOTE]I've always wished that wrestling games would adopt a more fighting game-style select screen. It's kind of impractical to scroll back and forth through a list of 60+ characters... it'd be nice to have some kind of grid to navigate. I think one of the gamecube games did that actually.
