X-Men 3: The Last Stand Update Thread

Mad swearing ahead sorry.

I think my mine problem with this movie is the simple fact........EVERYONE DIED/LOST THEIR POWERS LIKE A COMPLETE BITCH! Bottom Line.

Scott goes out so much like a bitch you dont even know if he is really dead. They dont show him dying, or fighting....he is just gone....like a bitch.

Mystic goes out...but just walking in front of Mags....she didnt even fucking dive for petes sake..she just stepped 1 foot over and boom gone...like a bitch.

Prof.X....You know correct me if i am wrong here.....I know Jean Grey is the worlds best mutant but..isnt Mags. and Prof. X like 2 of the most powerful mutants also? I grew up thinking that Mags and X were at least in the top 5 in powers.Just in the last movie Prof. X could have killed every mutant on the planet just by thinking hard. Yet in this awsome movie he dies like a fucking bitch sitting in a chair. Not even trying to use his powers to keep jean from killing him...he just sits there talking. What the fuck? Bitch.

Rouge..this bitch wasnt even in the movie..not only was she already a bitch because she had the most useless power she then just dissapears for 90% of the movie and shows up at the end cured of what little power she had to begin with. You dont even see what happend to her. fucking bitch.

Angel.....so like a bitch i am not even going to go into it.

Juggs. This motherfucker dies or not dies or what the hell happend to him because they dont show anything about him...gets laid out by a fuckING WALL. He is the god damn juggernaut bitch....and he gets KO'ed by a GOD DAMN WALL. ITS A WALL. Why even have him in the movie if he is going to lose to a god damn woodpost? And he is not even a mutant..how could leech take his mutant powers? What duce man.

Mags......again..i grew up thinking that mags was like top 5 in how powerful he was...this bitch gets tricked by logan and the beast! Mags didnt even fight anyone...just gets his power taken away in the most bitchy way they can think up. "Ddddddduuuuurrrrrrr when will you learn logan i control metal...dddduuurrr what the i am so obessed with talking to you i dont notice beast sneaking up behind me stabbing me with metal needles."

Iceman/pyro. So the director watched one episode of DBZ and you guys think its cool? You a fucking idiot that was the worst fight in movie history. They get locked in a 2 min struggle and pyro gets headbutted.......like a fucking bitch. Him being all iceman was decently cool but that doesnt make up for the worst fight in history.

Jean....you just spent the entire length of the moive saying how powerful she his. Yet logan just literaly walks up to this bitch and stabs her and its done with, Bitch.

Seriouly...and i am being honest here...if you liked this movie there is no way to put it other than....your just a fucking idiot. There is a list a mile long of x-men related and just plain movie related that was just garbgae in this moive. There is no other way to put it...your just a fucking idiot.

When did i say i was a comic book geek? What the fuck is wrong with you? I barely even read comic doucherocket..if you were a kid in the 90's you had no choice but to know a little something about xmen.

fucking idiot.

what did you just read the rolling stone review for X3 and come up with the "queer" angle?

Wow someone making a shit load of references of how the X3 movie differs from how it should be. With this info it sure in hell seems like you are the comic book guy.

Well I wasn't a kid in the 90's but I was a preteen/teen in the 90's that watched the X men cartoon and hell I can only remember a few things about it. I do remember a friend once having this long talk with me of how the cartoon is not like the comics because of x reasons. I just nodded and said sure since I didn't read comics.

Others that don't agree with you are all idiots? You have some growing up to do grasshopper.

I just don't understand how anyone can like this movie, longtime fan or not. It's just not a good movie.

I won't go into the reasons why because they've already been posted several times, but how can you be entertained by this crap?

For myself it had a large cast of mutants that is a plus. It was under 2hrs long another plus, since I am sick of long popcorn flicks. It had a good mix of new and old mutants in the mix (new/old mutants for the x men movies.) I am not sure why I am standing up for this movie so much it was a good one time watch, nothing more, nothing less. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen all did an exelent excellent job with the roles. It is what it is 3/5 stars.

3. Actually, let's keep going:

Oh, this one is good. First of all, learn to use apostrophe. It's right next to the enter key. Secondly, it's "awesome". The e key is right next to the r. Finally, if you had been reading the comic books, you'd know that the Phoenix has essentially godlike powers. I mean, it DID cause a star to go nova and kill like 5 billion aliens, after all.

5. I won't even bother with the rest. You all get the point. Soodmeg is a fucking idiot.

it was decent for a movie. It can't be accurate to the cartoons or the book. I'm glad they gave it some kind of closure in the case that there wasn't gonna be a 4th movie.
Other comments:
-Didn't Halle Berry's lips look juicy in that scene where her and wolvie were arguing?
-Is it just me or did Rogue get a little pudgy in this movie?

Why the fuck do i care if you have be on your ingore list?

After that well thought out and descriptive post, it's all clear to me now. I can plainly see why I should hate the movie along with every other UBER-EXTREME-COMIC-EXPERT in existance. Thank you for helping me understand.

I had no idea that girl was Psylocke (SP?) I was thinking "who is that purple haired girl?" the whole time. Who was that woman that did shockwaves? I could of swore that was a man...
Rouge was definitely looking a little on the hefty side, but not to much. Halle Berry was fucking gorgeous throughout the whole movie.
It was funny becasue at that scene, my female friend said "Forget Jean, I'd be all over Halle!!" and some girls turned around and giggled

saw it tonight, they really screwed the Cyclops character from the begining. He is def not one of my favorites, but ever since the first movie they have just dicked around with his character. I know why they did that to him at the begining, since he was signed to superman too, but why have him at all.

They gave no reason why Nightcrawler left, I know they allegedly said why he left in the game, but most people who will see it did not play the game. So there is no closure with that.

I dislike how there were hoards of countless brotherhood mutants, but there were no new X-men besides Kitty and Beast. There is really no good reason for not having Gambit or some other X-man.

There was really no substance in this movie, it was just a popcorn flick. The comic fans will prob hate it the most because its so far from the comics. Hopefully if they make another one they will get Singer back.
There is really no good reason for not having Gambit or some other X-man.
Actually, according to the IMDB, they offered the role of Gambit to Josh Holloway of Lost but he turned it down as it was a character too similar to Sawyer.

DAMN HIM!

He could have saved the movie!
They need Gambit. He makes everything better.
I would punch a baby to see a Gambit moxitar.

I doubt he would have (see people, it's would have, not would of...make a note of this) had more screen time than Angel. Perhaps it's for the best and if there's a fourth film they can bring him in with a more substantial role.

well, just got back from seeing it for the second time with my friend who couldn't go the first time and he didn't wanna see it alone. I liked it better the first time, and I thought it was a good flick, worth my $9. And I also got the "I'm the Juggernaut Bitch" part recorded on my phone.
.............hmmmmmmm I vote......fuck you guys.
Don't worry, man. The anger that is in you is coursing through my veins, as well.

I've never been the type of person to get upset when a movie doesn't follow a book or anything like that, but X-Men was seriously an important part of my childhood.

My father, brother and I would go to comic shops every weekend to pick up the new comic, we'd collect all the trading cards, action figures and we'd watch the cartoon every week.

The three of us went to watch it yesterday, and we were all disappointed. My father, always being the voice of reason, tried to calm me down after that abomination, but it didn't work.

To all you people who have been talking crap about how us comic geeks have been upset about the movie, try to imagine some sort of book, song or anything else that can be translated into a movie. Then imagine how you'd feel if the people responsible for making said movie totally ruined it. I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy about it either.

I had a huge post typed and the thread ate it. Oh well.

Rogue losing her powers was a bummer. The lack of a body and Jean's "I THINK I killed Scott" leads me to believe that he's alive. I was really bummed that they included sentinals just to include sentinals. Kelsey delivered as Beast.

I don't know why some of you are saying this movie's horrible. It's not.

If you wanted things like the comics, why are you just now bitching about Wolverine not donning the yellow spandex suit?

And when did you get back from Iraq?
If you wanted things like the comics, why are you just now bitching about Wolverine not donning the yellow spandex suit?

It was always a minor complaint of mine throughout the movies, but it didn't really bother me too much because I liked the first two movies. But this movie was just so bad, it brought out the worst in everything I've seen so far.

And I'd even be okay with them changing a few of the things up in order to make the story be more palatable in the transition from comic to movie. But the things they did in X3 are borderline blasphemous. You don't do that to major characters like that without really giving a good reason in doing so.

Everything felt so cheap and rushed, the characters didn't get enough time to develop and the untimely endings were very badly done.

I got back from Iraq in late February, but I'm moving to Guam on Thursday.

Ok, but this is the third movie in the series, you had to have realized by now it really dosen't follow the comics that closely.

That's like going into Spider-Man 3 expecting it to mimic the comics panel by panel... what do you expect from a series that is already two movies in? That all of a sudden they'll don the colored spandex, every new character will get 20 minutes for their backstory, and hey, maybe they'll go to space while they're at it too.

I think you went into this movie with VERY unrealistic expections... hell, I could tell from the trailers MONTHS in advance this was going to not be like the comics at all except in character likeness.

What I'm getting is that movie fans really liked it, while the uber x-men geeks hated it, so maybe I will go see it since I want to go see a decent action flick.

ah, I loved the "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" scene.
very enjoyable movie, especially the last scene with Logan/Wolverine and Jean Gray/the Phoenix

Yeah I saw that, it made me wonder if someone on Lost could turn cards into explosives

They never gave proof that Cyclops was dead and X didn't die, so what else did they do? Killed off Jean? I think you were just looking for things to pick about. As Roufuss said, this is the third movie in the series, you could tell they weren't following the comic books. Personally, I don't really mind - if it was the same exact story, I'd know all about it, and it wouldn't be fun.

Everything felt so cheap and rushed, the characters didn't get enough time to develop.

I disagree. No one needed development. They marketed Kitty, Iceman and whoever else right from the beginning sequence as untrained X-Men ("They're not ready, Storm"). Pyro, Magneto, Cyclops, Wolverine and Storm needed no development. The only one that they really should've dove into a bit more was Callisto.

I thought Callisto got too much screen time. They really should have put some time into to the Peter & Kitty relationship. And they could have at least put one line in about night crawler. All they needed was a simple "I wish curt wasn't in europe looking for his mom".

And I agree that the movie really didn't have a good resolution. But as a long time comic fan, I think it was a decent good movie worth seeing. It's the 3rd best xmen movie but it's still cool to see them on the screen. But I did want to see bobby freaking own pyro's ass by freezing the water in pyro's body into ice.

And you really shouldn't compair the movie the 90's toon. I remember when those where new and people hated the changes they made (OMG WHO THE fuck is MOrph!1!) in the toon vs the comic book. From what I remember Jean doesn't even die in the toon, at least in the movie she was dead.

It's definately time to break out my comics again. I hope I can find the issue where Wolverine gets his adamantium ripped out by Magneto, it has a hologram card on the front.

X-men (2nd series) #25
From what I remember Jean doesn't even die in the toon, at least in the movie she was dead.
She died, but in the same episode the phoenix took a little life from every xman there and she was brought back to life same episode

What really didn't make sense to me is why Jean needed to die. Why couldn't Logan just give her a dose of the cure? Boom, everything would have been fixed, and she could have lived.

That's just another huge plot hole, in my opinion.

If what people have said about a new trilogy coming focusing on the Sentinels and such is true, I have some hope for the franchise. I just hope a better script writer and director is used. And they need to give more time for filming so they don't have to rush certain scenes.

There is no way to justify not showing a Sentinel. Why keep it in the fog and only show a set of headlights and a head?

Good point. They could have just dosed her with the cure just like they did to Magneto and every other mutant during that damn final sequence. Oh, but you forget - how are people supposed to weep during the ending unless they kill off ANOTHER character? Eesh!
