People enjoy underwater levels? I Always thought they were the worst part of nearly any or every video game. Right there alongside "protect the..." and "escort..." all when they have terrible AI and crap health, which is usually the case.

I really want to jump on Tomb Raider, but I just know it will be $10 for a physical copy soon enough. My backlog is 100 deep, and my 250 gig hard drive is crying already. Still hope a Mass Effect 3 DLC sale comes this year.
To offer another perspective on TR, for fans that weren't just looking for another rehash and appreciated some liveliness that the series desperately needed, it was a great great game. Sure, you're not progressing at a snail's pace through tombs, but it's fun as hell all the way throughout. It's a good mix of Uncharted and actual gameplay instead of 90% cinematics and 10% gameplay like Uncharted. I got it as a gift when it came out and, at the time, would have paid $40 for it. Now though I do agree it would be better to wait for the sub $10 point but if you do cave on the $15 you won't regret it at all. I myself played through it three times.

If you need another shooter, go for it. But keep in mind it's a terrible Tomb Raider game - Lara can't swim, so no underwater levels, only few puzzles and they are dumb easy, the game has only few small tombs and they are optional. It's a slap in the face for TR fans.
Tomb Raider is a great game, I will take QTE over swimming levels any day.

I really doubt Xbox One will be getting any Deal of the Weeks or any sales until next year. Does it even have any Arcade games beside LocoCycle?

Ist got Lococycle, Crimson Dragon, Killer Instinct, and Powerstar Golf. I really want Powerstar, but I wanna try it. And since, for some ungodly reason, they have no demos. Really Xbox?

Anyway. Like I also asked. Is that the full Xbox 360 list?

Yes, I meant The Bureau. It came across like it was being pushed hard, but I had the sneaking suspicion that it was on par with Aliens: Colonial Marines for quality.
No it's not that bad. It's OK but not great. See what others have said about it's 5 plus year dev cycle and how it had to still be tied to the XCom name.

That being said, physical copy is already $30 at GS so if you wait I'm sure disc copies will drop to $20 soon.

Check back later in the week, last year there were a bunch of 1-day only deals.

Thanks man. Ive got a few bucks in credit on here and need to use it. wish someone would buy my arcade games so I can have just a bit more, lol.

No it's a WIP, just what CAGs have found so far. Need to wait for xbldb to catch the deals or Major Nelson to blog the complete list for "Black Friday Sale".

Agree with all of this, I can see how someone who loves the gameplay of the old ones might be put off, I found them frustrating as hell as a teen. It was a bit TOO much like uncharted at times, when they do the camera close up when you turn sideways to fit through a tight spot, i don't know that I've seen that in any other game besides the uncharted series.

Thanks, that lead me to check the original Puzzle Quest. It's $2.99. I'm finally going to buy it. Puzzle Quest 2 is still $14.99.

Thank you old bean. Wanted this the last time it went on sale but I waited too long and now its cheaper. :D/

I've never played a Tomb Raider game until the new Tomb Raider but I loved it. It looks good, plays good and was fun. The only thing that pissed me off was that QTE where the dude chokes Lara . Not only do I abhor violence against women, but for some reason the quick time wasn't responding. I think it was slightly off. Did anybody else have this problem? I had to do the damn scene literally 20 times. I almost quit, but the rest was so good I had to go on.

I don't even remember the scene. Is it the Russian guy near the beginning? None of the QTE's ever felt off for me in that game.

Also, how do you feel about violence towards men? You're okay with that? Okay, cool. Just asking.

Really wonder why xbldb hasn't caught anything

Makes you wonder what could be on sale. I kinda feel dumb for asking but without it, that means people just randomly searched to find stuff, right?

Yeah when she had to hide. I've never had a problem with a QTE until that. I had to look it up and people said there was some problem with the timing and just to press the button repeatedly.

Lol years of killing them, and them kiling me has desensitized me to their suffering.

Also wanted to thank Necrozilla for his taking over of this thread. He came out of the blue and made it look great. Still wondering what happened to Bobby though. He hasn't been on since before Halloween.

Hyperbole much?

I found Tomb Raider to have about the same level of cinematics and lots of "quick time events".

However, as per past Tomb Raider games, it isn't QUITE as linear as Uncharted. You can back-track more, and in the newest Tomb Raider game it's almost a mini open world game. So if you want to break from the cinematic story, you can go explore around the map for collectibles for 3 hours straight. In Uncharted, you pretty much aren't going to do that (at least not in the current gen iterations).

Yeah, 100% agree with that. It's the same movie-like summer blockbuster like Uncharted.

You can revisit the locations, but why one would do that if there are no puzzles to do and upgrades totally pointless, achievements maybe, meh? The game was advertised as survivor title with some promising mechanics and ended up as another basic shooter with health regen. Pity.

Region locked for me.:(

there has to be more...also im sure im not the only one but seriously LOL at deadliest warrior sales. worst game ive played this gen by a good margin.

I never even heard about the Mark of the Ninja DLC. I'll have to pick it up to support them (even if it's only a little) and to try out the new stuff on a second playthrough.

And then buy Dust to satisfy any lingering furry tendencies.

Still love the MS Conversion *sigh* $1.69 are converted to 1,62€ which are $2.19 lol I know I know they did that all the time with GonD but now everything is charged this way hrm...
I know how you feel.

In Australia we were actually paying basically the same as America for Arcade and DLC/Season Passes. But for some reason they have started charging more over here for them eg. Bioshock Infinite is $10 than American marketplace and the Sould Calibur game is $19.99 and here is $26. Does not make sense they suddenly change it.

i used to play Wolfenstein 3d back in the day on my friends computer before school but the nostalgia was short lived after i dled the demo the day it came out lol.

I went through the same thing with Duke Nukem 3D. Played the demo, was buoyed by the blast from the past, and plunked down the $5 sale price. Made it to level two on the full game and thought, man I wish I had that $5 back.

Some halfway decent stuff in this sale, but nothing for me. Anyone who doesn't already own Skyrim or Tomb Raider, jump on that! :) Hopefully there's some good stuff in the one-day deals.

I want tomb raider but it's the same price Best Buy will have for a physical copy on Friday.

They call that a sale? truly disappointed. Why can't MS just put everything pre-2013 on 50% off, I would have spend close to $200 just for all the DLCs that I missed or was never on sale. missed opportunity MS.

Have most of what I want, but Mark of the Ninja DLC is a must. Otherwise, only other games on my mind are possibly Wolfenstein and Runner 2 but will probably wait until the one day sales to find out what they are first.

Any impressions on Runner 2? I remember a friend from years ago enjoyed one of the games on steam (IIRC), but don't know too many people that played it off hand.

It's fantastic. It's the best "runner" game I've played and its excellent difficulty scaling means pretty much anyone can enjoy it.

This is really just the weekly sale. Like all other retailers, they are just over using the term black Friday. The real BF sale is on the actual BF. FYI, last year's was poor, but the year before was awesome.

In for Mark of the Ninja DLC. Also, Runner 2 is a mustown for any 2D platformer fans. One of my favorite games this year.

I should prolly bite on Sleeping Dogs at some point  :joystick:

you guys think this sale sucks? i think it's pretty awesome compared to most of what xbox usually discounts, tbh. i already own most of the stuff i want, but battleblock, red dead, dark souls for $5? blood dragon for less than 5? that is like 100 hours of AAA gaming for less than $20

dust and motocross madness are 2 of the best xbla games ever made and they'd cost like $7.50 for both. shit that list of games i posted hits on like 5 different genres, with top notch qualities in each for about $25 total. how's that not a great sale? i guess we already own all the good shit so we're jaded

The sale is ok. Would have been good at the end of that generation for some crazy offers like 80/90% off, but yeah.

Friday and monday offers:

Why the fuck do they only list the % off? Forcing us to go online to look up the current prices and then do math afterwards...like wtf. List the % off, then list the sale prices ffs. It's not that hard; Microsoft folks already have access to their own database of prices. How many times can I use the f word for this. fuck. Am I the only one who hates this? fuck.

I was excited that Red Dead might be $5, but it's still $30, therefore it will be $7.50. Not sure if that warrants another play through or not.

I have never tried Dark Souls, so for $5, it could be a lot of "fun". Also, I might pick up Dust and Mark of the Assassin. Is the DLC worth buying if I have never played the game?

Edit: I wish Hearthfire was on sale with the other Skyrim add ons. It the only one I don't have, and I would love to go back and play that game, even if just for building a house.

A lot of that stuff wasn't listed earlier today.
