Usually I just get messages from people recruiting or remarking about my gamertag, but I recently got one from a kid begging recent players for a $10 iTunes gift card. I'm guessing the latest [insert relevant pop music artist] album was on sale for a very limited time. He sounded truly desperate.

I bought a lot of music on my phone when Xbox Music had crazy deals. The last few weeks have sucked though. I hope they bring back $.99 albums.

The bottom really dropped out on those deals didn't they? I got a lot of music during the early sales too. Hate I was in an area with no WiFi and missed a bunch of free albums over the holidays because I couldn't run up my cell bandwidth. That's ok though when I got $2 box sets with hundreds of songs in them like the Johnny Cash and Doors sets. I knew those sales would become less awesome, but not this weak.

 
Has anyone used a 1-month Xbox Live Gold code from Bing Rewards and been able to get the Xbox 360 Games With Gold games with it? I'll probably let my Gold expire in a few months, but was thinking that might be a good way to get a possible future Xbox 360 GWG that interests me.

 
Thanks. A one month code is worth about $7. A good deal for one game you might want, and two other randoms. It's nice the 360 GWG let's you keep the games. I would keep my subscription going for GWG, but at this point I probably couldn't come up with five games I would like to be GWG.

 
Been asking around for an invite to the preview program too and keep getting ignored lol.  One the 360 pretty much from the Kinect until the XB1 release I was in almost every preview/beta but now nothing with the XB1.

I Remember being invited to Preview program, but I didn't own an XBox One at the time so couldn't jump on it and now that offer is gone. The ironing was...delicious.

Also I still don't know what the fuck the Preview Program is.

 
We can't send actual invites to the preview dashboard. We can only recommend you to Microsoft. They check if you meet certain requirements. Could take a few weeks for them to accept.
 
I've never understood why people play trough games twice... And yet, I am now playing through AC IV: BF on the X1 after playing a ton of it on 360 and I am enjoying it just as much as the first time...

Was it your first time playing it? I remember the first time I played it, it probably took me about 15-20 hours to beat it.

I had a hard time figuring out where to go. Some of the puzzles are kinda tricky too.

I watch the Google Play store, too. In order to know what the deals are in Xbox Music you have to download the Music Deals app on a Windows 8 phone or in Win8.

He looks kind of crappy, but the people using him haven't had a lot of time to use him yet. Visually I like him. He and his attacks look cool, but they don't do a lot of damage. Lots of mix ups to make up for that. I'm looking forward to playing him.

They also showed Maya's classic costume and a few variants for it. Looks way better than I thought it would.

I still buy CDs.

Child of the 80's, still attached to physical media. There's something special about sliding a blade between the Y-fold of a cellophane wrapper and peeling off the theft-deterrent stickers, be they on a CD, game case, DVD, or Blu-Ray.

I Also buy CD's still (though I do dablle in MP3's if the CD is pricey as balls). Hell this past week I bought Lupe Fiasco's "Tetsuo and Youth". Supporting musicians is fun!

Hearing really good things about this, and want to get it but cant bring myself to spend $10 on it and I cant stop listening to the "Under Pressure" album by Logic which I was able to get from google play music for $3.99 the day it came out

It's really fucking good. I Hated Lasers (the only good songs were bonus tracks) and Food & Liquor Great American Rap album, had some good tracks, but overall was waaaay too preachy I felt and felt like a chore to listen the whole way through. Tetsuo & Youth though is fantastic, easily return to form as some song's are concept ("Prisoner 1 & 2" is basically two songs in one with two different perspectives and beats) while others like "Mural", which is basically an 8 minute long flow, drops rhymes about Contra and Mortal Kombat and other nerd things that I enjoyed and haven't really heard since The Cool. I Can recommend it wholeheartedly.

Though I'm also in a weird back to back music listening cycle as I got into this and Run the Jewels 2, which is also fucking amazing.

 
For those on the fence about Riptide GP2, here's my rundown on it.

It's a really fun racer, very much like Hydro Thunder Hurricane on the 360, but perhaps a little more limited in scope (for example it has no online multiplayer but it has a nice split screen feature for up to 6 players and leaderboards). There's 15 or so different tracks, a dozen or so boats, multiple game modes so the variety and the amount of content is pretty damn good for a 5$ game. I've also found it very fun, working on some of the tighter tracks and getting all the neat tricks done is a lot of fun. The game can be completed in around 10 hours or less if you become used to the game mechanics (including handling the waves in the best possible way). The AI can be challenging but once you unlock one of the final boats, if you keep earning turbo and not crashing around you should be able to win just about everything. I've found the last few freestyle events to be the hardest as they require a lot of coordination and precision, but you can always pause and check your trick list if you don't want to memorize a dozen or so different stunts' button combos. Also, the graphics are not insane but thanks to cool effects and 1080p 60fps it's definitely enjoyable.

Those 10 or so hours I mentioned for completion also included achievements: at first they'll start pouring in slowly, but you just have to work on getting the 3 stars on every event (don't despair if you can't mange yet, once you a buy a stronger boat and update it it'll be a breeze), buying almost every boat (don't even have to update them), and the rest will pretty much follow naturally. You'll have to unlock a level 10 stunt for 4 skill points (remember to do this one to avoid having to farm XP at the end), which in turn you can use in any level which has a small jump just before the finish (the very first level has it): just pull off that level 10 stunt without using the turbo and you'll definitely fail it, with your rider flying through the finish: that earns you the "no rider finish" achievement as well. The rest should also come naturally while playing, except for the Easter Egg cheevo which requires you to go left instead of right just before the 3 pillared ship in the last stage and has you collecting said egg.

5 bucks, lot of fun, no online but leaderboards and split screen, plenty of content albeit not too long needed to complete the game, and an easy-ish 1000G. What's not to love?

Yup, and a lot of them will probably not even submit bug feedback and will be the first to gripe when something in the preview doesn't work right.

So true!

Says in alpha/beta testing application will give tons of feedback, but in reality they give zero feedback to the designated site, and instead complain about bugs anywhere else.

 2nd Playthrough of Resident Evil I used a guide, so I could get achievements/unlimited ammo rocket launcher for finishing the game in under 3 hours and not saving. Final time 2:37:51. This game was fun to speedrun and the run only felt like maybe an hour.

damn it took me almost 12 hours and i saved 30 times

 
lol, I love retards that run around BF4 using the riot shield while standing up expecting not to instantly have their legs shot out from under them.
