Is the season pass for Deus Ex Mankind Divided worth it? I grabbed the game for $5 recently at Redbox, but won't have a console to play it on until next month.

If nothing else, it’s one of th few season passes I’ve seen go on sale by itself. I grabbed it a couple months ago when it was $5 or so. If you’re not gonna jump right into the game, I’d say hold out for that sale.

Lol, achieved Fire Across the Galaxy for PFX3's Star Wars: Rebels table and it says 0.06% completion. You have to do all the Rebels missions to get there. Thankfully I played that table in FX2 so I knew what I was more than likely up to lol.

So I looked it up and it should be relatively easy to transfer my games over from my old external hard drive to the new one via Settings>Storage UI. Previously people actually could download a program to do a all file transfer via the PC but that was always able to mess with your data (and a few people reported that their DLC stuff was messed up and they had to delete and redownload those). :cold:  Glad they have this integrated into Xbox One now.

Playing the hell out of Shadow of War. It’s really, really good. Not a vast change over the first one, but that’s not a bad thing, since the first one was one of the best games of this console generation.

I find it interesting people think there will be a console generation moving forward (at least for Xbox). Thinking in X years the Xbox One X becomes the new baseline for game development and then we march on, cell phone style into the abyss.

Clear cut generations will only be acceptable when there is something so unique about the jump it outweighs all your shit not working on the new console. See: Switch.

But that won’t fly for PlayStation and Xbox going forward.

For the thread: played an hour of Ghost Recon Wildlands on the free trial weekend. That game is pretty fun. But instead of buying it I should go beat just Cause 3.
 
Shadow of War is great. If you liked Shadow of Mordor, you will like Shadow of War. Improves on the first game and adds much more content like a proper sequel should.

Story is meh so far, but has its moments. End of Act 1 very gun, but leading up to it was boring. Loot boxes are a non issue so far, but we'll see about that "true ending" part later. From what I understand it takes many hours to even get to that point.
 
They probably will not have a digitally sale since the game releases physically today. If they put the game on sale digitally, then it would take away from some of their physical sales. The hard copy comes with a counselor outfit pack and a bloody Jason skin. I hope those become available digitally though.

I decided to start playing Stick of Truth again last night and was surprised to see that I must have picked up the digital version at some point.

Anyway, got to the Bard boss before I had to call it a night. Awesome game. Hope I have time to finish it before next week’s sequel but seriously doubt I’ll have time. :(

Oh well, still look forward to the new one being added to my backlog. ;)
 
Reminder that today is the last day for the Forza 7 promo game.  Nothing for me today, but at least i got the Hoonigan pack yesterday.  I would have loved to at least get VIP too, but oh well.

I was doing the Game Pass Goals wrong. I was trying to get 6 achievements in SRIV:RE but really I needed an achievement from 6 different eligible games to get a chance for their higher prizes. Oh well, still had fun in SR. I’ve just been having fun collecting orbs like Crackdown.

I don't think this is going to be the case. Microsoft has implied that they want to make BC a permanent thing, letting people keep all their old games going forward. I think this means that while they will design around this in the future, there will still be a new console eventually. Microsoft does currently seem the least attached to the generation structure of the big three right now, but I think this is a combination of the huge change in internal ideals that we're still feeling from the old Mattrick days (bad histories that lead to the gutting of first-party studios), compounded with the very pro-consumer practices that Spencer has ushered in (BC, Play Anywhere).

Sony is a hardware manufacturer first and foremost, likes to constantly put out new stuff weather it lands or not, and PlayStation is pretty much their only branch that has done well in the past several years. Nintendo has done whatever the hell they felt like since after the GameCube, and since innovation, or at least doing something new, is their focus they will keep doing new hardware forever.

I think the main reason we saw these mid generation consoles was just how long the previous gen lasted. Just about eight years, which was an eternity by console standards. Those consoles were on their last legs, and the late generation stuff like Last of Us or GTA V really pushed that hardware as far as it could go, and the limitations were evident after we transitioned. Just look at Destiny 2 compared to the first, or just how much more can be happening at once in GTA V now. In three or four years we'll be at that point again, rendering at 4k, or "4k" like most PS4 Pro games, will be the only think these consoles have going for them compared to benefits a new console will bring.

PS5 rumblings have already been going around, with speculation pointing to 2018 or 2019. I think 2019 is probably the earliest, but Sony could surprise us like they have in the past. Really, I think the biggest effect these could have is de-syncing the console releases farther. Usually competitors in the console space are released within one year of each other max, but I could see the quickness of the Switch's release and these upgrade consoles killing that. As for Microsoft, I think they're more likely to stop making dedicated consoles entirely rather than release incremental consoles with stuff like Play Anywhere and the push for unity with Windows 10 in general sort of testing the water.

Well, just get one achievement for another game and you'll be eligible for the regular mystery gift. Might be better than the ultimate mystery gift.

Seems like people got $5 Xbox credit or a month of Xbox Live Gold from last month game pass goals, while Ultimate Mystery Gift people got Transformers 1 the movie.

Also, there is another promo for logging onto Xbox Live Gold for 15 days, joining 3 clubs, and earning an achievement in 4 games.

I was considering one of those, but I wasn't super stoked about the color. Heard some locations had the for $15. But they're $30 near me. But then I'm not excited by a black controller.

I want a controller with foam/rubber padding on the left and right trigger buttons. I'd pay extra for that.

I really really wanted to like A.O.M. But it just wasn't that great to me. My biggest issue was movement and traversal. Driving didn't feel as tight as it did in saints row and they want you to scale huge building but climbing as the characters in the game sucks shit (It is so fuck hard to go up!!!!!). It reminds me of battleborn in the sense that the characters were the best thing about the game. All of them were memorable and had their own unique style. The story line was good as well but the game play really let me down so I never finished the campaign. If the game had co-op I might pick it up at some point, but personally I'll only buy it if it hits $5 or I can flip it for a profit....

Edit: FYI Amazon isn't taking it, Gamestop has a base value of $12, and Best Buy has a base of $15 for it. Even with PUR or GCU it wont cover gas to pick up the game :whistle2:(

Walmart will give you $16.88 if you have the original case! HOT DOG! I can make 80 cents each! In for 100!

That game will definitely be $15 or less in about a month and a half brand new with no risk of paper copy. Just saying.

And if it isn't I won't lose much sleep over it. I rented it with a free Redbox code and got maybe 1/3 the way into the main story. It is ok and I intended to rent it again with a free code but haven't. Not too many of the Redbox's around here have it.

I loved SR3 and SR4 and GAT out of Hell. I know this isn't Saints Row but doesn't seem to be anything special either. The lack of co op and the environment seem to be my biggest issues with it. I also got stuck for a while at the home base trying to figure out WTF to do progress the game. Maybe I was just being stupid but it wasn't clear to me what I was supposed to do from the text direction.

I have a stack of games already I bought for $10 or less I can't seem to get motivated to play. Driving 40 mins round trip to pay $15 for a used copy doesn't really sound like a great idea.

I guess though if you are going to play it now and trade it in pretty quickly it might be worth it to some.

Good to see for Cuphead. It's nice that a game get's rewarded for being priced smartly and also didn't launch with a ton of caveats about "loot boxes" or "micro transactions" something that has sadly been kind of rare for Microsoft published products as of late.
