I'm XBL friends with him and he's online playing The Witcher 3 right now, so he's not dead, which is good lol. Just hasn't been around for whatever reason. I miss the weekly releases, too.

I don't believe solo has any particular story elements that aren't in the regular game. It's just playing with NPCs instead of playing with actual people. From what I've read, solo play doesn't mean you won't be targeted by other ships, though, as NPC ships will still attack from time to time.

 
I have Witcher 3 on the ps pro and pc. I would like to try it on the X. What’s the least expensive way? Didn’t want to spend more than $25 for the complete version

If you are lucky enough to find it, your lucky TRU may have The Complete Edition clearanced to $14.98. It's been that price since before Thanksgiving though, so it may be tough to find.

 
One of the nonprofits I work for gave me a $100 gift card for Xmas. I'll probably use it to (finally) get the new Metroid, but some of it might go towards the inevitable holiday sale. This was quite the pleasant surprise.

I only do solo play because there are a lot of griefers who have nothing better to do than pick on new guys, or if you're doing community goals for example they'll stake out the specific places for the goals and destroy ships that are hauling cargo for funzies. It's disheartening to have a few million spacebucks worth of cargo and have it destroyed by some 12 year old.

There's no story mode by the way, you're supposed to make your own adventure out of it. You have different mission types you can do, different ways to earn money, some exploration aspects (although they're going to rework this in some future update to make it better). It's a game with a steep learning curve, but it gets really interesting and it's very unique.

Also I would've gone with one of the other versions. You'll want the Horizons upgrade because it allows you to land on planets - ones without atmosphere for now like moons and stuff but still fun. They're supposedly adding atmospheric planetary landings in some future update too but who knows when that is.

That's good to know. Looks like if you install the standard edition from the disc after already owning core + arena, you don't need to buy it digitally to play without the disc.

If anyone missed the nuclear emblem for Gears of War 4 in the last live stream; tonight it will be given out again... in tonights livestream which will start in about 15 Minutes (right now some foreplay lol)

On another note I got 2 operation packs out of nowhere today...I got through jingle juvies twice today and everytime I finished there was somehow 1 operation pack under my packages don't know if it is related to jingle juvies or anyhting like that couldn't find other posts like this...doubt it is for leveling up even though i passed my 10th re-up hum.

Had an internal struggle last night, do I play Gears 4 and get 5X XP or continue onto D9 challenge and unlock a bunch of Sunset Overdrive achievements?

man I loved that game. One of my favorite this gen. I remember almost putting it down in the beginning, but once I learned the mechanics of the traversal system, it was pure magic. I think a lot of people probably gave up in the early going before they even got to the fun stuff.

 
I managed to max out all 5 Horde classes last night thanks to the 5 times XP. Took about an hour each, though in normal XP 5 hours doesn't sound like nearly enough. I guess it's from all the ribbons you can get in Jingle Juvies.

Today's bonus is the Gearsmas Swarm character from last year.

 
Sunset Overdrive is still the best XB1 game by a good margin.  Could definitely use the 4K treatment one day.

 
My biggest Elite Dangerous tip is to play through all of the tutorials, monotonous as they may be. After I did that, I had no problems really. I may get the Horizons DLC since it's on sale and get back into it.

 
Does anybody else get shorted on their Best Buy rewards points? I'm lowest tier, so I am supposed to get .5 points for every dollar. So if I spend $10, I should get 5 points. I'm also a GCU member, so if buying a video game, that $10 should be worth a bonus 5 points for a total of 10. 

So I recently purchased PUBG. With GCU, that brings the total down to $23.99 before tax. According to my math, that is worth 11.995 points plus another 11.995 points. Which, you can probably round off to 12 and 12 for an even 24 points. But BB has chosen to round down, and make it a 11+11 transaction. Is that consistent with anyone else? Looking back at my points history, they take every opportunity to round down.

the good news is .995 points won’t get you anything anyway so you aren’t missing out.
 
Decided to hop back into AC: Origins for the trial of the gods event. I had only beat the second one before, but doing the two I hadn't and the one I already completed allowed me to get the anubus outfit. The gods were a cool idea, but feel like they could've been implemented better if they were like in a small dungeon you had to puzzle/platform through.

Also did the crossover quest that was added. It was interesting but really short. The mount reward is funny.

I still have like 6 skills to unlock and don't know if I'll do it. I'm already level 40 and leveling up 12 more times may be a pain especially since I think I have like 30 quests left and none of them even give 1/3 the xp to level up. Maybe when DLC comes out.
 
Saw The Last Jedi with the kids today. I loved it, bust most importantly they did as well. Disney is doing an awesome job of getting new little Star Wars fans.

I gotta hand it to Xbox for letting me download games when the console is off. After deleting some games on the hard drive, it's a pleasant surprise to turn on the 360 the next day and see a bunch of new games downloaded. Gives me motivation to work on the backlog and see what else gets downloaded overnight.

Newest additions: Crysis 2, Syndicate, Far Cry 2, and Far Cry Instincts Predator. 

Meanwhile, it looks like I'm picking up Ultra Street Fighter IV and Fall of Cybertron this week. Well done, Microsoft.

Soooo I’m just curious, I feel like Bloomy has posted about non-ea stuff counting down before, how did that happen if those items weren’t already discounted? Or am I wrong and that’s never happened?

I *think* another group of items that he can work his magic on are Game Pass games. They also have discounts for subscribers and probably would count down if they were going to be on sale. Lots of non-EA stuff there.

Any other wizardry or use of the Schwartz, Bloomy would have to explain.

As I sit here and mull over Bloomy’s magic, I multitask to price match a whole bunch of games at Best Buy via chat thanks to preorders that have some great sales. Should get about $50 back and still get my $10 certs. Pays to be a cheap ass.

That was pretty much my feeling coming out of it tonight, they could of lopped off 45 minutes of Finn and Leia was rough besides what happened in real life, but really liked it

I had to pkay through the tutorials twice lol, and I'm still lost. I really do want to buy the dlc, but it's still too expensive for me. Not even sure what it actually adds other than being able to use a mass effect type vehicle on planets. Though if it was the same price as the base game at $12 I'd grab it. With Christmas a few days away I just can't afford it, especially after buying my friend a game, my mom a few things, and getting a haircut today. December's an expensive month lol.

So are people rocking 4K or performance mode in Witcher 3? I have been going with 4K. I loved performance mode in Gears, but in the Witcher it feels a bit odd to me.
 
Ah, the excitement of beating a game followed by the overwhelming feeling of uncertainty in trying to figure out what the fuck to play next.
