Curious...what's the negative in this? We're talking about Bing right? If so, all it does is skip a step for you. You don't have to take the code from email and redeem it on Xbox. Now it's deposited immediately upon redemption of points. It's a good thing in my eyes.

People can't sell the codes if they no longer get codes.

Also, people may be using multiple accounts to generate codes and redeeming them all on the same account.

Well I just redeemed a $10 Microsoft gift card through Bing Rewards and got a code emailed to me which I applied to my account.  Glad to see it's still working that way.

When your xbox login email is banned from MS rewards "aka Bing Rewards" it's not good at all.

Along with what's been mentioned, at the moment, we have until 6/30 to redeem the codes and 90 days from then to use them, but if they're redeemed when we buy them, we would lose any extra time we could use if there was nothing we wanted to buy.
 
Every time I go to see about cashing in my gems in the vault the ms cards are out of stock! What's the point of listing them on offer if they never actually have them as vault rewards?

MS can only have so many Microbucks in circulation at any given time or inflation will balloon and the deals will be even worse! Sony does the same thing with their rewards program, it’s silly.
 
Monster Hunter's Spring Festival has begun, all Event quests are available for the duration as well as easy access to apparently the best greatsword in the game. It's from a fan design and rocket powered.

Oh okay you guys bring up good points that I wouldn't have considered being a single Bing account guy. I supposed this is one that could affect me. I forgot about the 90 day thing. That would suck now. Especially if you don't remember when you redeemed the credit.

Side note: Kingdoms of Amalur has too many sidequests! I just passed the 40 hour mark and I'm barely in the 2nd of the 5 major areas when it comes to main quests. I wish I wasn't such a quest whore who has to complete every quest I come across...

I think you’re giving MS too much credit here.. They also almost never have the games or other items in stock, which would have zero impact on the alleged micro bucks economy. Probably more realistic to say that someone in the company figured out long ago that people will spend more if they perceive a reward, but you never have to pay out if the items are never actually in stock.

Here's the morning update: just got enough points for a $10 reward on my wife's account.  Cashed out, and got the code.  I'm not sure when (or if, at this point) the credit will get automatically deposited as opposed to a code sent, but its definitely something to keep an eye out for.

For those unaware of the situation, there was a post a few days back stating that Microsoft Rewards was changing how the gift cards would be distributed.  Instead of being sent the redemption code, the credit would be put directly into your Microsoft account.  However, I have yet to see anything like this, so do what you will with this info.

An Amazon gift card is an extra 600 points. I suppose if it gets to that point, I will have to, but the CAG in me wants to save as much as possible. Even if it's a measly 600 points.

I know this is the xbl deal thread but will someone talk me into or out of getting the ps4 pro GOW bundle. I've seen the posts about how ps4 has better single player games. So what say you?

I think the PS4 has better first party games. I am personally not into Halo or Gear of War, so the Xbox doesn't really have much in first party stuff that interests me. I wish I would have kept my PS4 for sure.

Why not? If you'd like a bigger backlog the PS4 is more than accommodating especially after being out this long. I Still enjoy mine a great deal and the exclusives are hella abundant with enough variety across the board.

I love God Of War but I'm not dropping $400 to play a 20+ hour single player game on a controller made for dudes with baby hands. That's just me, though.

 
Been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join up. Have a code for Forza 7 driver gear from totinos pizza rolls if anyone wants it.

They throw in a pretty spiffy console for free though. In fact I plan on selling the game when I get the bundle, so that free console would only end up costing me ~$380!
 
My hands hurt after a few hours on a ps4 controller but I can do like a 10-20 hour Xbox session and they feel fine, outside of that though there are definitely some fun exclusives, especially JRPG side of stuff. 

 
This might be old news but I have a buy 1 month of Game Pass get 1 month of Gold for free on my dashboard. The 1 month of free Gold is sent as a code through your messaging system.

Two I found that are 1.00 each from the list are the Zombie Battle Helmet - Red, and Zombie Battle Helmet - Black.

I'm waiting to see what's up with this quest, I spent 41.99 (before tax) on the 1st but I've only got 4/5 things filled in the quest section. Which means I'm probably going to have to contact them before too long.

Get it if you think it looks cool. I'm being serious. Getting the machine in general is a plus, even if I barely use mine. Dad of War will likely be fun, but you can play it on any version. Special consoles are relatively hard to come by, I wish I had waited so I could get the Vader edition.

Currently 29 announced entrants for the Andre Battle Royal, so a decent number of entry slots will be available.

Even though I haven't played GoW 4 yet, nor will I for years, I still want to nab any free stuff I can, when I can. This thread (you specifically posting here) is the only notification I get about them. If they were only posted elsewhere, I might nab something once in a blue moon.

 
I didn't realize how tied into the xbox ecosystem I was til I tried switching to ps4 in 2013, I wasn't really into achievements then, but just hate the controller and psn, they def have the more interesting exclusives though

 
Anyone else having issues trying to buy stuff from the spring sale?
