Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I just used a Black Friday 3 month card a few days ago, the offer for one free month is still there.

In my case I paid $10 for a few of those cards, so I didn’t need their 3 month offer as I had enough..
Thanks. Did you redeem the code on the system or website? Not sure if it matters but just want to be as thorough (and cheap) as possible here.

The original voices in SH2 still have some voices replaced. The cropped cutscenes are also an abomination. Amazing how much they managed to screw up in the SH HD collection.
So HD doesn't stand for High Definition, it stands for Herp Derp?

I think I might have paid around $15 for each 3 month card maybe last Black Friday. I mostly want to use them up so I don't lose them. I don't keep a constant sub like most since I don't use it nearly enough. I usually leverage the small gap between using codes to wait for the next GWG group to go live and occasionally skip ones I don't care about.

If the free month deal is active for direct purchases or codes specifically it might change whether I buy 3 months before sale ends or if I might just wait to see the next set of games first. Trying to figure out if I need anything from the current sale. If my 3 month code turns into 4 months then I could hit this sale and still be gold for a black Friday sale.

Or most likely there will be new sales on live then and I can re-up at bf. Nevermind I'm way too lost in my own planning that no one can help me. Lol.
By lose them, do you mean physically lose the cards? I use a spreadsheet to keep track of my unused codes.

Along with posters and ads of that pretty lady with no clothes and the Foresaken tattoo.
All I remember is her face, so good job 90's gaming ad industry! I Remember a female in your gaming ad without merely thinking of tits and ass! Also, what the fuck does that have anything to do with the game? And who would win in a fight, her or the old man with the banjo from the Super Nintendo box art of Phalanx?

Thanks for the reply. Funny story, I bought the 4k Monoprice cables someone in this thread recommended ~2 month ago in anticipation of buying my new TV, so the cable is brand new and should be fully compatible. I've also spent 1-2 hours a day for 3-4 weeks with the Xbox on this TV, and it's only happened in the last ~48 hours.
HDMI handshakes are effing goofy. On my X1X, when I use Netflix, the screen sometimes goes solid green or snowy due to HDR kicking in. I blindly go back to the X1 home screen and re-launch Netflix, and all is well.

Copyright protection is a boner, but I've done the equipment swap game too many times before. I just find the the workarounds and live with it.

Glad to know this is semi-normal and my TV isn't a dud / console isn't dying. I'll keep an eye on it, though. Thanks!

Yep I meant physically lose the cards. They are probably somewhere in my desk, hopefully near a $50 iTunes gift card and $20 rebate debit card I am also working on tracking down. Organization has been a real sh!tshow around here since we moved to smaller house a while back. Luckily all my years of hoarded unplayed games can still fit in the house, although they are now stacked precariously into walls and towers of boxes waiting to eventually crush me.

im thinking of buy the silent hill hd collection since its seems like a good deal but i heard of the problems people were talking about yesterday...has anyone played it on there xbox one and had any problems? such as game freezing?

Go to walmart and buy no mans sky for $20 on ps4 then go to a different walmart and go to customer service and say your wife/mom bought the wrong version and you would like to switch it to xbox one.

Should work for ya

How’s the Destiny 2 + expansions bundle at $19.80? I bought the $6 copy from Best Buy, but I’m thinking about returning it and grabbing this bundle, since I prefer digital and can seemingly get more out of having the expansions.

I get that lots hate the game but I never played destiny 1 and don’t have any expectations. Should I stick with my $6 copy or is there more value on the bundle? Or is there anything about this game I need to know?

I used to roll my eyes at these “gears 4 weapons skin is live” posts.... then that 5x XP happened and I’ve been all about Gears 4 since.

I bought it for part 3. There's some videos for the hd collection on YouTube. It seemed ok.

I still roll my eyes but then remember that it’s (most of the time) Bloomy. This man can take a shit in the thread and I’d still want to look at it. 😂

Firewatch : wasn’t impressed as my first walking simulator. Do they get better?

COD infinite warfare seems less epic then usual COD games for me

I’m wondering if post dark souls is hard to switch back to other games :(

I really want to play silent hill games for the first time. I’m debating between buying digital and hoping for a patch later - seems unlikely but so was getting this BC in first place. Or hoping it comes on steam (same unlikely but hopeful) because on PC the mods are there to fix it

With Dark Souls being so layered and nuanced, it can definitely be difficult to transition to something afterwards. I'd recommend Ori and the Blind Forest for the metroidvania-esque play style that seems familiar to Dark Souls. Constantly backtracking and opening new areas with different skillsets/items.

The Metal Gear series has always been pretty good to me for capturing an epic story that you feel swept up in. Similar to the epic adventure Dark Souls sends you on. If you haven't played the sequels, I'd recommend those. Be warned that Dark Souls II is to the franchise what Super Mario Bros 2 was to the Nintendo community. Classic and full of charm, but definitely divisive.

Winning number is #33

sooooo anarchyburger you are the winner!

Send me over your GT and I'll send it on over when I have a chance

as for everyone else, hang tight and there will be more soon :)

Different atmosphere. For me, RE games are more scare at the moment whereas SH are more suspenseful. This is based on the first few games for each not including the remake for the original RE.

Decided to switch things up and play Hellblade instead of adding it to the backlog. Only about 30 minutes in, right at the end of the intro, and it looks great visually and shows a lot of promise that it will live up to or exceed the hype.

Been looking into Hellblade myself and not getting the hype. From what I see it's extremely linear, more puzzles than combat, and it's a pre-made character, so not much of rp value either. Just not seeing the appeal unless you like linear puzzle games. Which I wouldn't mind too much if it was a gwg or really cheap, since I doubt it has any replay value.

Just for future reference, is Steep Winter Games Edition worth checking out? Looks somewhat interesting but don't want to take a chance of buying into a mediocre experience.

I had a blast with it on PS4 but I am easy to please. Going down a steep mountain on a sled was an experience and the jet suit was a fun way to get around the mountains quickly. I did get the Gold version so I had access to all the various things you can ride/ski/fly/etc. It will probably get real cheap come fall heading into the holidays....might as well wait

Thanks for the info, def gonna wait to pick it. $30 still seems a bit pricey for the game at this point in the year. Maybe it'll hit about $20 or so during the holidays.

Been playing the Gears 4 Horde Mania event to try to get the Midnight Omen skins for the achievement, in 5 games (2 skins awarded per game), and I’ve gotten 4 torque bows, 3 retro lancers and 3 longshots. That’s irritating when there’s 4 skins up for grabs.

Hellblade is worth playing!!! Replay value or no replay value, linear or not linear....just give it a try. At least you’ll support those devs to make more amazing games in the future.

Trying to find something other than Destiny 2 to buy, tried Wolfenstein 2, didn't like it. Tried Prey, didn't like it. Gonna try Dishonored 2, but I think the trend might continue on...did like the first one though.

Dying Light?

As for Hellblade, I have a feeling it'll be on Gamepass at some point, so saving my money on that one

Dark souls :)

Not DS 2 that is on sale. But dark souls remastered when it digitally goes on sale. It’s not as hard as dirt look would make you think. It’s about learning the game and using what you learn. Think of it like a puzzle. It might be hard the first time but you learn how to make it easy the second or third attempt.

Silent Hill 2-4 had PC releases back in the day. They were terrible ports, but the community has gone to great lengths to fix them up

That’s what I figured. But apparently you can’t find them (legally) online anymore I think. I thought maybe if Konami BC this collection maybe a steam variant goes up later

IDK, I played the base version a week before the 1st DLC. I liked it enough and several friends were playing. So I picked up the second DLC. Got many weeks out of it. Played just after Christmas and stopped. Picked up the second DLC. Played a couple hours one day. Really seemed like very little was added in the second DLC. Perhaps I missed it. Didn't care enough to research it and figure it out.

Not enough to keep me engaged. The 3 or 4 guys I would play with if they were on had moved on to other stuff. I find online stuff gets boring after a while (for me a couple months I guess) if I am playing solo. I recently chatted with one of the guys and he is waiting till the next update. I just find I get bored playing solo after a while.

$20 isn't too bad though if you screw around with the online for a few weeks at least.

Just realized I can just purchase the achievements for NieR in game. In other words, I just 1000'd NieR!

Bring on Hellblade, and lets see what the hype on this game is about.

Quick questions about mixer, do they put up games on sale to help support that streamer. Example Enter the Gungeon is on sale and they are streaming it .And do you get the $5 back once or more? Or was that only for E3 ? Thanks

I know a lot of you are digital only, but this doesn't go on sale very often these days, and if you still have GCU, it's probably even cheaper:
