Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Is Forza Horizon 2 VIP worth it on sale for $4.99
It's got two or three things going for it and one useless thing. The VIP events are pretty much useless. It's just extra events for leaderboards and there's no special rewards or anything. The good things are it's a good car pack and double credits from the wheel spins is very nice. The VIP gifts is good and nets several cars, but I'm not 100% sure you will get them. There were certain games that you only received VIP cars if you were a VIP when they were given out. I believe you do get them all when you get VIP in FH2, but I can't recall as I was VIP from the start. Maybe someone else knows that part.

If you're going to play a lot, the VIP credit boost is great to have and the cars in the pack are good so I'd say get it if that is the case. It's never gone cheaper and it's not included in the season pass. I believe it's in the complete collection if that comes back.

I can't for the life of me find where to purchase The Walking Dead Final Season Episode 1 as a standalone episode. Is it really only available as a full season purchase right now?!?

Sent from my SM-P580 using Tapatalk

Any news on injustice 2 landing on gamepass?
Trying to decide if i should get the legendary edition qhile it's on sale or not.
If it does, I’m betting it’s the version without the DLC. So, if you, like me, are vexed by having unplayable characters, it may be worth it to buy. I think this version has everyone unlocked.

That's kind of BS. They expect me to front them a 2-5 month interest-free loan. No thanks ... moving on. Talk about stamping out my interest. I'll circle back when it goes on sale.

Sent from my SM-P580 using Tapatalk
You literally had three games prior to decide if this game is for you or not though...

TIL some people prefer the piecemeal delivery which makes the storefront for TellTale games a nightmare to navigate.

The first ep is free, the first ep is on sale, the season is on sale but so is the first ep, don't buy them individually or you'll be charged twice, etc etc.

And yes, for TWD specifically, you're either in or out at this point.

Don't like to front money ... CAG 4 life

Sent from my SM-P580 using Tapatalk
But you're already fronting it by saying you'd have been willing to put $5 up or whatever for the first episode instead of just saving a few bucks on season pass or whatever. I Question your CAG 4 life status, sir.

It was $20 for the entire Walking Dead series and you're complaining about 15 extra bucks, lol
Already owned all of the previous seasons, so throwing that in literally meant nothing to me.

If everyone prefers less choice and to be pigeon-holed in to paying the developers in advance for unreleased work, knock yourselves out.

It's working pretty well for PUBG, which officially releases on September 4.

Was IGN’s review of Shadow of the Tomb Raider put up and then pulled? I can’t find anything about it — at all. Wasn’t sure if the post about it was a joke.

Don't worry, once it's posted it will all sound suspiciously like something else you read anyway.

So I honestly had no intention of picking up Resident Evil 2 Remaster but damn if that game doesn't look beautiful/grotesque and spoopy. I might have tp rethink my future purchases.

why would you play the first episode and not the rest?

i thought this episode was the best since season 2

Sorry, pet peeve. Bioshock got remastered, RE2 is the definition of a remake from the ground up.

But yes, goddamn it looks amazing. I will probably do the Prime discount preorder even though I know it'll hit $20 eventually.

You owned the collection or the seasons individually?

Because either:

A. You didn't own the collection, so you didn't own the improved versions/that game

or

B. You are clearly a fan, are invested in the story, and are going to spend the $20 anyway if you want to buy the episodes for full price and not sale?

CAGs for life lol

Seems like the only choice that would matter would be if you wanted to try only the first episode and weren't sure if you were going to play the full game or not, but we're on Season 4 lol

I am a fan, have played all seasons and I am invested in the story. I just disagree with having to purchase the whole season upfront and not being able to piecemeal purchase if I'd like. Maybe I play Ep.1 soon after release ... but when FH4 or whatever else drops, I might not play the other episodes the minute they are released. It might be a few months or even a year down the road. Honestly don't understand why this position is so devisive here. Why put up the money for the other episodes that far in advance? This is clearly a tactic by the publisher to rope you in to comittitng financially to the entire season or sitting it out. It is not consumer friendly ... just a way to raise capitol. That is their decision. I'm not required to like it. And if I don't like this change, it doesn't make me a heel, tepid TWD fan or some sort of non-legit CAG because I don't go tripping over myself to advance the publisher money.

Agree to disagree

I understand what you you're saying but imo that doesn't make sense when we're on the 4th season, 20 episodes in. Just wait for the whole game to release and go on sale then? If this was some new episodic title or a new TT franchise sure, but at this point you know what you're getting

Sorry pet peeve of mine. Fixed your last sentence for you... :)

Which is what I do with all their games already. I rather play it when all the episodes are out anyway. I binge them just like TV series on Netflix.

I agree. And I can find an hour or so to play an episode of TWD if I wanted to even with FH4, Spiderman and maybe Tomb Raider. TWD is one of the few games my wife will sit and watch me play. Wife approved gaming time!

I was trying to find the link that MN tweeted that would summarize all of the announcements from Gamescom and stumbled upon this one:

https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/1031919833129005057

That is a sweet looking console.

Playstation has great looking limited edition consoles and XBox has the better looking limited edition controllers seems to be the weird unwritten law.

Really? I've thought most PS4 LE consoles have looked like total trash, the God of War one was laughable and the new Spiderman while a cool design feels like it would look so gaudy after a few weeks of a giant bright red thing in my entertainment center. The translucent blue they have for 500,000,000 Playstations sold looks alright. I did like some of the dumb Xbox 360 faceplates since you could change them up.
