Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Did anyone see Digital Foundry's review of the Battlefield 5 beta comparing it between the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro? It was pretty embarrassing. The PS4 Pro version looks like total dog shit.

Been watching some Twitch streams of Spider-Man and if I had to pick between that and Sunset Overdrive, I would take Sunset. It looks fantastic and I want to play it eventually but it seems like it doesn't have the style of Sunset, maybe the license restricts them. I'm still holding out for a SO2.

I've always thought Spider-Man was a lame superhero. The new game looks cool but at least I can play Sunset Overdrive and the Rocksteady Batman games.

A Venom game would be a dream come true.

I hated everything about Sunset Overdrive. Played 2 hours and traded it.

Popular opinion on this board is that the game doesn't start shining until a handful more hours into it. It was DwG at some point, did you happen to snag it then?

I think Sunset was in a weird spot, kind of underrated for awhile and now maybe overrated. Traversal wasn't really that great even once you get the Air Dash and I always hate when Tower Defense is a focus of a game. Some kind of lock on aiming system would of been okay for that game and another one like Halo where you seem to be constantly out of ammo.

As someone who beat Sunset Overdrive about two weeks ago or so I think the game was just good and nothing else, it never did much if anything to change the gameplay in any memorable way. Traversal and controls were smooth, but in the end the game really came down to use the gun with the biggest spread damage and grind on rails and repeat. I Don't regret playing it at all, but I feel Saints Row IV nailed the super power open world game with outlandish storyline motif better.

With that being said, I'll still get Spider-man when it gets cheaper because backlog and I gotta make use of my two PS4's/

I didn't love the tower defense portion, but I still love sunset overdrive, gave me a tony hawk feel with its traversal, other than alan wake 2 SO2 is the xbox exxclusive I would most want a sequel to

I was struggling with it, particularly due to the lack of ammo. I doubt I got very far before I put it aside for easier games. My other problem is I'm trash at linking any kind of combos together in any game, so that makes SO particularly hard. I need to get back into it, but I've got several games to finish before Fallout 76 drops, at which time you'll never hear from me again. Unless the servers crash, then you and everyone else in the world will hear from me. :p

I've watched streams of Spidey and am enthralled by it. The sniping is silly, I can't wait to pick it up cheap on Black Friday.

Since we're on the topic of Spider-Man, I'm enjoying the hell out of it! This was the sequel Spider-Man 2 deserved all those years ago.

Back to Xbox, even though I'm playing Spider-Man, I still want to pick up Tomb Raider this week so my Xbox doesn't feel left out :)

I ended up preordering the Spider-Man bundle and have no regrets. It’s a great game so far.

I don’t know if a Spider-Man game has ever seen received this much care and attention, and it shows. Perfect? Probably not. Better than what has come before? Yes.

Finally gave the Master Chief 4k upgrade a try. Did one round of each of the main Halos (1-4), then a bit extra to get the gamepass quest. It’s pretty impressive!
Halo CE looks the worst with its big blocky models, but plays really well.
Halo 2 looks great, probably the most impressive upgrade.
Halo 3 looks good but the jungle levels looked rather flat.
Halo 4 looks almost current gen.
They all were quite fun. Easy quest :)

I preordered Tomb Raider to lock in the GCU discount but sadly still haven’t finished Rise of the Tomb Raider. Debating on cancelling and waiting until BF to pick it up.

It does have the $10 back thing on preorders so would work out to be $37.50. Hmmm...

Also did just get Spider-Man and Dragon Quest 11.

I think I'm gonna do the same. Wait for the rest of the games that coming out for black Friday. Back log is huge right now.

I have finished rise and and excited for shadow but I am still not preordering it. I did same math that you did and figured 30 is my target price. Hopefully BF gets us there

yeah even with the prime discount dead I realized I would rather just wait a month or 2 and get games for 30, with BC I have a near endless supply of cheap games to play anyway

All the Spider-Man talk, I'm excited to play it soon, I honestly have enjoyed nearly all of  the free roaming Spider-Man games, Ultimate Spider-Man is still my favorite though!

I picked up DQXI when I picked up Forsaken, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to return it because at this point Destiny 2 isn't in my blood, it IS my blood. I'm starting to feel bad for all these other games that I want to play but can be bothered to. And I'm a HUGE DW fan back from the days in Alefgard where you save the princess in the ruined castle.

Also, I'm not sure if it's still out there, but has anyone played the DW clone called Warrior Dragon? Good stuff.

Don't mean to derail the PS4-exclusive Spider-Man talk in the XBL thread, but like 10 days before the first episode for the new TWD season came out, I cancelled my pre-order and forgot all about it.

But for some reason, the collection you got as a bonus is still in my ready to install section. Now I'm afraid to even try to install the damn thing and then get banned for "marketplace theft".

Sure. Why not?

Honestly I don’t mind. I prefer my Xbox but do enjoy plenty of PS4 exclusives. And talking with the cool kids in this thread is where it’s at. 😂
Same. I like the vibe in here. Getting my Spidey Pro console tomorrow. Can't wait.

You guys, Crash Bandicoot is hard. I Want to go through all three games, but something tells me if I do it'll make me three to four times longer than the average completion rate because I keep seeing the game over screen.

Probably one of the best games I've ever played. Finally had a reason to fire up my Black Friday Pro

Damn, is Spiderman really that good?

I wish that and the Fist of the North Star game hit xbox one (and hell, the Yakuza games in general).
The story, graphics, villains, atmosphere are all dope af. Im only at 15% done, a guy who finished the game before it was publicly released said he finished the game around 72% and I've been playing around 4-5hrs at a time

And while you guys talk about your fancy HD graphics and micro processors and all the ram's and such, for some reason I decided to start Megaman Legends. It still amazes me there was a time where we as gamers all were just fine with playing 3D games on a d-pad and never dreamed how simpler things would be with TWO analogs. Oh what, dark horrifying times.

The only thing I'm a bit worried about with Spider-Man is how long it is. One of the gaming groups I follow had two people Platinum the game in the week before it launched. Neither of which are the type to go out of their way to Platinum a game normally. Personally probably waiting until the DLC is out, but I wasn't overly excited so that might mean a complete edition like Horizon Zero Dawn had.

For upcoming stuff I'm probably only going to have to buy Soul Calibur. We'll probably gameshare Red Dead. I just wish I could find a semi-affordable arcade stick, but there aren't as many options compared to the 360 days.

Just jumping in to add on to the Spider-Man talk (since I usually just read this forum and haven’t yet gotten into the PS one) - I’ve never purchased a Playstafion console for myself (I own a fat PS3 gifted from a friend that I got late in its life cycle so have like no games for), but I went out at midnight on Thursday to get the red PS4 with Spidey and I’m so happy I did. The game is incredible like everyone is saying. Totally engaging and the hours just kinda fly by. I love my Xbone and miss being in parties with my friends but they can wait until I’m done with this game at least. Glad I finally joined the multi-system family (I’ve owned nearly all Nintendo systems too but they’re another beast altogether).

On Xbox/ multi-plat talk, I’m not as pumped for the new Tomb Raider as I had been for the past two, but I’ll definitely pick it up on sale at some point, or possibly wait and hope for a Game Pass release. Loved the last two, but this one isn’t quite doing it for me just yet. Might have to look more into it and/or watch some gameplay.

Your best bet is probably getting a PS4 stick and getting an adapter. I used a Brook adapter that worked flawlessly (until I messed it up trying to update the firmware to tournament mode, which was wholly unnecessary). Keep an eye out for Newegg promos or even Amazon Warehouse for a dinger.

I swear by the Mayflash Universal Adapter myself. It works with most USB controllers AND Playstation controllers, so if you're in need of an arcade joystick for your Xbox One, that adapter will give you tons of options. It'll work with the PS4 as well, but only if the game supports aux/legacy controllers, and only in the games themselves. Most fighting games have this support, but Dead or Alive 5 and the crappy Marvel vs. Capcom game do not.

3D Mega Man is 1 D too many!

That MM11 demo is evil it’s difficulty. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Also picked up the Mega Man X collection over the weekend. The first game is a genuine masterpiece of the series. And I can’t remember how to clear the moving platforms at the start of Sigma’s fortress, which is irritating.

As for more contemporary games, I saw the commercial for Shadow of the Tomb Raider about 7-8 times during the sports car race from Lagana Seca today, I’m hooked.

Lastly, did we make it through the day with no NFL talk?

Mega Man Legends on a dpad (as BDK mentioned) is awful. Hard to play it unless emulation and remap to analog. Or play the N64 version....?

Mega Man X seriously is one of the best 2D action games ever made. The homing missles help with those platforms so that those flying jerks don't ruin your day.

Also did just get Spider-Man and Dragon Quest 11.
I don't pre-order much anymore. I did pre-order both Tomb Raider and Spiderman. Mostly for GS promo credit. Not sure why but I thought TR was next month. Anyway I ended up keeping my Spiderman pre-order and canceling TR. I will pick up TR for sure but can probably wait for some price drops. I will likely pick it up on XBox One so I can play it on the X.

With Spiderman and FH4 on Game pass I wouldn't likely get to TR till December at the earliest anyway.

I Forgot I got a Mayflash Universal Adapter until you mentioned the game plays better on analog. I'm sure I can find a controller with analog support or something to it, worst comes to worst I can play Megaman Legends as God intended, with an arcade stick.
