Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Seems kinda meh with this week's sale. Grabbed Guardian Heroes and RE Code Veronica X on 360. God, I forgot how terrible CVX looks, even with the "HD upscale" Capcom did on the port. Might grab FFXV's Royal content, although I've put that game on hold to finish up XII and XIII first.

got another survey for the bing rewards thing

made sure to fill out "fix yo shit" again for all the suggestion boxes since they didn't take my advice last time
Got one too and made sure to point how glitchy the Point Crusaders quest has been.

I actually saw an Aventador today in RL. Guy who was driving it said it was a rental. He had another Lambo (Huracan I think) that was in the shop. Did see another Lambo on the road shortly after that. Guess there was some sort of car show or event this morning around here.
I saw so many cool cars at the parking lot of Circuit of the Americas during the US Grand Prix this past weekend. I saw an Aventador SVJ, Ferrari F12, 488, 430, 360, Bentley continentals, all sorts of 911s, GTRs, and a McLaren 650s and 720s

Few years ago I saw, then Ferrari CEO, Luca di Montezemolo in an Enzo. Another time McLaren had all of its cars for editorial reviews there, including a P1 and several 12Cs.

Microsoft published DR3 as an X1 exclusive, Capcom published the others. Since sales are set by publishers, that explains why DR3 isn't on sale alongside them, but as to why it hasn't been on sale in awhile, no idea. DR2 is currently on Game Pass.

Regarding the other titles, this is the first time they've been that low. I'm skeptical the 360 DR1 will ever go BC since Capcom doesn't seem interested in BC for games that have ports, so I may grab it.
Yeah, it's odd that it has not been on sale for so long. I figured they would add it to this Halloween sale, but it looks like that won't happen unless they add it next week closer to the actual holiday. I have not played the series yet but have been meaning to once I add the whole series to my backlog. The only one I'm missing is DR3 at the moment. I had originally planned on getting all titles on X1, but I seem to remember one of those Humble Bundles came with the trilogy really cheaply for PS4. So I have the backwards compatible side-games and DR4 on X1. Is there any benefit to having the original 360 versions of the games or are you looking to add the 360 DR1 for completeness' sake?

Sorry, should have mentioned - I already own DR1 on 360 digital, I think I paid $5 for it ~2 years ago. If it went BC, I'd have no use for the port, which is identical to the original and just running at a higher resolution/FPS/etc.

The port fixed the text too IIRC. It's been forever since I played the 360 version of DR1 so I don't remember if that ever got corrected.

It never got patched, but fixed itself over the course of time by the phasing out of people using older tvs that didn't have component or HDMI

I was hoping "The Mummy Demastered" would be on sale, just like it is on PSN. Its at a good price too, 11.99 - wish MS got some of these sales. Guess I'm buying it on PSN, then.

Alright y'all! This upcoming weekend I'm going to host my first Xbox Game Night. Up for grabs is a $10 Xbox gift card.

The game will be (surprise, surprise...) Forza Horizon 4. Being that this game has a competitive aspect, the winner will be determined by race results rather than a random drawing of all participants.

I'm thinking Friday night from 7pm-9pm CST. We can do some fun racing for the first hour before moving to some competitive racing to end the night.

If y'all are down to game with some CAGs, message me here and add me on Xbox Live so I can build a list.

If your Gamertag is different than your CAG name, let me know who you are ahead of time. I need this gaming session to be only CAGs so the winner is among us.

Date and time are flexible if there is a better common time.

Does anybody have experience with Titan Quest?  I saw some talk of a patch causing performance issues, but couldn't tell if it was fixed or not?

I'm a sucker for Diablo-type games and enjoyed this on PC years ago, so $9 to have it digital (only a bit more than physical on Amazon) is the right price for me.  I'm on an OG XBO, so no 4K concerns here.

Playing on an X it seemed good I don't recall having any issues with it but I played the first act or two and set it aside with the intentions of going back to it later. It feels quite dated but definitely scratched the Diablo itch I would say its definitely worth $9

I remember enjoying the game, and I'll probably pick it up for $2.50, but scavenging weapons was a huge pain in the ass. I recall having to keep one enemy alive while I rushed everyone up to loot corpses - you don't automatically recover gear at the end of the round (or you recover less, been awhile).

I've been watching Prod_'s recent streams of Dead by Daylight and it looks fun for a couple hours of running in circles, but I wish there was a bundle with all the dlc. I would maybe pay $25 for a complete collection, but I don't think I'd play it more than a few times so there's no way I'm paying $20 +$7 per dlc. There really doesn't seem to be much to the game; survivors start up generators to open escape while the killer two-hits (or one-hit ko's with special) then hooks victim on the same hook copy pasted throughout the levels. It's cool to play as Leatherface or Mike Meyers, but I can see the novelty of that wearing thin real quick.
i thought the same thing when i first played it last year, yet here i am still playing it to this day it never gets old

Got Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack from this sale. Now I can start the game with the whole damn story I guess,
;)

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-04-09-final-fantasy-15-has-four-more-dlc-episodes-due-in-2019

Episode I: Ardyn - "The Conflict of the Sage"

This story portrays the struggles of Ardyn. Witness the resentment he harbored towards Lucis for over 2,000 years, and his clashes with the Astrals.
Episode II: Lunafreya - "The Choice of Freedom"

This story's about Luna's fate, which not even death can free her from. Her battle to save the one she loves overturns the destiny dealt to the Lucian King.

Episode III: Noctis - "The Final Strike"

Parting ways with the Astrals, Noctis embarks upon his final battle in order to attain the ideal future for all his people.

so would you recommend paying the $7.50 for the royal upgrade or wait and see what they do with that dlc that's coming in 2019. Already have the gold edition of xv

I don't remember if I've brought this game up here before, but if finally was announced to be coming to all three consoles. This is a new game using the old engine that games like Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior used. The dev team has some of the old Duke 3D map designers as well as modders, and some of the team the created eDuke32, which is a modern port of Duke with bells and whistles made by fans much like Doom/Doom 2 have ZDoom. It's been on early access on Steam with a demo for about 6 months, and it's pretty great. If you're a fan of retro 90s shooters like I am you should defintely look into it.

HAHAHAHA...oh you're not joking.

If you've already got the Gold version and actively are playing or really love the game it's probably worth grabbing the upgrade. I'd guess there will be one more (final?) version for new players to buy eventually, but current DLC owners are probably going to have to buy Season 1, Royal Edition, and Season 2 separately, filling in whatever they don't already own. It's hard to say for sure though, nothing about FFXV's lifespan and content updates really followed any template.

Personally I beat the main story when the game came out, and am not a fan of how they've been rolling out this story heavy content that is set DURING the events of the game, so I've been waiting for all updates and DLC to be finished before replaying the game. At least season 2 sounds like it is set outside of the events of the game, other than Aranea and maybe episode Lunafreya.

That was kind of my guess too that we’ll have to buy it piece mail. I actually was probably only 15 hours or so in and stopped playing with all the royal and other upcoming dlc announcements so maybe I should grab it first time I recall seeing the royal edition upgrade on sale

Don't forget the free sidecrolling game, movie, and anime shorts that fill in backstory. I'm surprised there isn't a book and a play yet.

I've been playing it with a friend on PS4 and it's fun, but buggy (occasional crashes). There's another patch in the works right now, so at least the developers are still trying to fix problems. I'd say it's worth the $9.

Starting 10/25, Gamestop has a new deal where you get $100 off an Xbox console if you buy Red Dead Redemption 2.  I wonder if there's any chance this would stack with the trade-in special for buying an Xbox One X (which lasts through 10/28)?  Probably not since it says "Cannot be combined with any other offer", but you never know what the stores will do.

You defintely need the anime and movie, I don't think the game really adds much. The books and plays are reserved for Nier.

I've watched and own the movie for better or worse. Do you know if the Cup of Noodle ramen that they have advertised possibly contains backstory on the packaging as well? I Hate to lose out on all the valuable back story of how someone ate an egg salad sandwich from a gas station bathroom.

I purchased the all the 360 Tropico's a long time ago when they were on a good sale specifically hoping for BC. I think 3, 4, and most of the DLC were on sale for dirt cheap. Of course, it's doubtful I'll ever actually play it now...
The real victory is in owning the games and having the ability to play them, and choosing not to. Complete domination.

20 years ago I was worshipping Final Fantasy, now I can't muster the will to put more than a few hours in FF15.
20 years ago the FF series had already been balls deep into me for 10 years, but I took lots of big breaks in there and the death grip has loosened a bit. I'm still excited for the older FF games coming to :xb1: starting next month!

But that someone will become the boss of a new DLC, after ingesting worms from said egg salad sandwich and achieving physical and mental perfection. Doesn't that boss back story sound more interesting than a guy with a big sword and mommy issues?

Decided to finally pick up Soma. I've been interested but haven't been too interested in spooky games where you have to hide from enemies. After hearing about the option to turn it into just a story based game with no enemies and seeing I had enough for a $10 credit from rewards I decided to grab it.

I played this originally on the 360. I was horrible at it. I had no idea if they were lying or whatever. Never did really seem to figure it out. Was fun though. Just never got the game. Probably grab it again when it hits $10.
Lol, same problem here. I was very meh about it, can't see myself ever bothering with it again, though watching Phelps harrassing people in the VR version is pretty hilarious.

Um, spoilers??? Spoilers for this game that I may never play because they keep adding DLC so I can't get the whole thing at once and be done with it?? Question Marks????

I've been playing Bravely Default on my New 2DS and goddamn that game scratches the classic Final Fantasy type story telling and gameplay itch I didn't know I've had for years. Also it's great to play while on the can and can grind out some XP.

Was probably offered a full time position based on all the salt generated. "Trolling about our sales? That's exactly what we're looking for! Welcome aboard!"
Boy, you screwed up big time, so... we're gonna make you the full time special sales announcer!

so would you recommend paying the $7.50 for the royal upgrade or wait and see what they do with that dlc that's coming in 2019. Already have the gold edition of xv
The Royal Edition is the game as it was originally planned, so in a sense it's complete. The new DLC is just a victory lap which got greenlit due to the game's success, it wasn't something they intended to do during the original development and release.

Also, for the price, that's a whole lotta game.

If there is one series you can say managed to not stagnate over the past 30 years, I think Final Fantasy would be it. Their apparent goal of innovating in the genre rather than sticking strictly to tradition like sister series Dragon Quest is admirable, but it really seems like they lost their way when Sakaguchi was fired/resigned due to Spirits Within's failure. I don't know if you could call any mainline game since X a rousing success as far as reception goes, as they all had either major issues or a giant shift in development somewhere along the line that was felt in the end game. Hopefully they keep Tabata around for the entire development of whatever his next game is as he seemed to barely manage to get the train wreck of Versus XIII's development salvaged into the FFXV station, though I think a different team is likely already deep into FFXVI development.

At least they seem to be playing nice with Sakaguchi finally, seeing as the recent cross over event in XV was with his new mobile game. It'd be great if Square-Enix hired him and his studio to make a new console RPG, even if it isn't Final Fantasy.
