Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I Hate when video games try and make me feel bad about killing thousands of nameless grunts, mostly because they're slowing me down from killing thousands more.

Wow wasn't gonna buy anymore games with game pass and my friend gifted me switch games so I'm joining the switch master race this weekend.

But can't say no to Agents of Mayhem with all the DLC for $12.50. I got a copy off Amazon Warehouse for $10 awhile back but they sent m the pS4 version so I kept it for free. So I had to buy it again.

Just when I was about to say nothing I want, Skate 3 for $5 quickly made me change my tune. Been wanting to pick it up again too, good thing I waited before buying a physical copy.

DMC HD collection is $4.99. Tempting at that price, but with the re-release coming for xbox one in three weeks would it really go BC?
ive noticed capcom games rarely go backwards compatible. think the only 3 that did were the two dead rising arcade games and super street fighter 4. no resident evils, devil may crys, or retail dead risings have been made backwars compatible yet.

Did anyone purchase Conga Master from last week's sale, and is it fun? I've got a few more hours to decide between Conga Master for $5 and the bundle that includes Need for Speed, Plants vs Zombies GW 2, and Unravel for $16 before that weekly sale ends. I don't have EA Access, but I do have $20 in my Microsoft account, and that price for three games seems good considering the new sales. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Star wars BF2 at $24 worth a campaign run and maybe some MP?
I like the multiplayer a lot. If you're interested in a handful of hours of that, I think $24 is a steal. The campaign is a train wreck. The story is cliché ridden trash, the enemy AI is some of the worst I have seen in a AAA game in a long time, and it's (mercifully?) over in a flash. I played all the way through the campaign, but it wasn't worth the time.

There's a little bit more than that, Dark Void, the Mega Man 9 and 10, Ducktales, Final Fight come to mind off the top of my head, but yeah so much stuff of theirs isn't. It's almost as strange as what Sega has BC and what it doesn't.

It's fun, but incredibly difficult. I'm also not a fan of how the game doesn't save your progress in story mode, especially considering the difficulty. It needs to be finished in one sitting. It's definitely unique though, and has lots of unlockables.

:xb1: AereA - $12.00 - 60% off
...
Thanks Bloomy. You did some magic on Attack on Titan, perhaps another dash of eye of newt. I was hoping for at least 50% off. That was my threshold. Still disappointed I missed out when BB had it for $24. Oh well, no rush.

Trades for $10 at BB.
Thanks for the heads up. I can convert to digital for a few cents more than I paid for it and still keep the DLC code I got for It.

I hate when games penalize me for killing AI members of my own squad/team. 75% of the time they are in the way. Don't run into the line of fire numbskull.

Thanks. I'm not crazy about Need for Speed, so I think I'm going to go for Conga Master and possibly buy Plants vs Zombies 2 and Unravel separately...or not at all.

Anyone play Terraria?  What's it like? I know it's a platformer, is it comparable to any other type of games or does it stand alone

Interested in the game, but the reviews have turned me away from it.
Some of the bad reviews are justified, some aren't. It's a blast if you're a fan of the combat in the Saint's Row games. It's top notch and there's a lot of it. The problem comes with the fact that it wants to be grindy like an RPG, but doesn't have enough content to grind without losing your mind. I slowly chipped away at the game over time and loved it, but if your objective is to knock out the game in a week, I can see it being monotonous quickly. The price is right.

From the very little that I've played of it, it's a Minecraft sidescroller. It has bosses and other elements of actual classic sidescrollers, but heavy on the mining and building.

I never made it past the tutorial. Once it started asking me to gather resources to build a thing, I shut it off. Not my bag.

Firewatch is rather good, well written.

Tempted to trade my Battlefront 2, gets 30 at BB. I enjoy it, despite the shortcomings.

Still enjoying Monster Hunter, 3/4 through low rank I think.

my microsoft rewards credits have still not been deposited, when it says around the 15th should i just keep waiting or is safe to assume I probably wont get it till around the 30th

If you don't have GamePass, I would wait for a sale on the game. It's been as low as $6 in the past. If you have GamePass, you should give it a try. They just released a massive update to the game that makes it comparable to the PC version 1.3.0.7, but beware there are a few bugs that still need to be ironed out.

Good to see you Joel! Man, I've had 3 (might have been 4?) crashes in like 2 hours of playing, and then had a game where multiple special currency things were burned but none of the generators were special, and then games where the killer dcs or crashes when they are used and causes them to be wasted, just not great experiences for me sadly, I gave up and went over to Uno instead haha :p
Yeah, mine has been crashing a lot as well. I probably crash 1/4 games. Hopefully the hotfix for the sounds and pallets will help a little. I guess on ps4 they aren't even able to get any coins so I guess I would rather crash than that at least lol.

Don't listen to the 2 people that probably put in under an hour of playtime. It it is not just a "2D Minecraft". If anything it's closer to a Metroidvania then it is Minecraft, collecting loot and getting further along to other areas as you and your gear progress. There is so much content in the game it will make your head spin. Bosses. Tons and tons of weapons, swords, bows, magic, etc. Sets and sets of armors, pets, rare drops. A whole bunch of stuff that is not even remotely possible in Minecraft.

I enjoyed Terraria much more than Minecraft because there is clear progression, but they are completely different games. Terraria didn't have as much replay value for me once finishing all bosses and collecting every item. The game has gotten updated a lot since launch with tons of new content. I could probably hop in it again and have tons of new content to do. Plus your character keeps progression/items between worlds, so you don't have to reset everything when updates make major changes *looks at Minecraft with disgust*. The biggest reason I stopped playing Minecraft was because we'd have to reset the world every major update to get all the new content.

Harder learning curve than Minecraft, but very much worth it. Went through everything on 360, Windows Phone, then Xbox One versions.

Some odd reason I want to pick up the farming sim 17. Any opinions on the game?
I've enjoyed whiling away the hours with the farm sim series. Sounds crazy probably, but as a non-farmer it was pretty fun trying the different tractors and figuring out the more complex crops. Obviously 17 is most advanced one so far, so if you're interested I'd say it's worth a purchase. On the achievement front, it's the easiest of the bunch. I actually paid more attention to farm equipment I passed on the highway after playing the game. :bouncy:

I'm interested in Halo Wars 2 Complete but will wait for deeper discounts. I am going to pick up Reus though. Have never heard of it, but metacritic reviews for X1 and PS4 editions make it sound well worth the $5 for strategy and management fans.

Quick question about Xbox One Game gifting, it states that the code can only be redemeed by people in the same region/country. But the Xbox One is region free...sooo the code should work in any region right..? Can someone confirm or deny this?

Ive read people complaining that they gifted to another region and it did NOT work. So I would stick to same region gifting.

No it won't. We had someone on here or Reddit posting a horror story about that. They won't be able to redeem in their country because of conversion or taxes. Something like that.

If you want to gift to someone in another country you have to buy it in that countries store then give to them. So you can't buy the game in the US store and gift it to someone that is in another country.

I never knew all that stuff was in Terraria. I'm one of those people who got tired of digging underground after the few first few hours and gave up. I think I might give it a second chance based on your description. I own it on 360, Xbox One, and the Playstations, but I'm more likely to actually play it on Xbox One. Does the X1 version have any exclusive content?

I liked Terraria way more than Minecraft when I played it a bit a few years ago, but I can totally see the comparisons. Terraria has more of a Metroidvania feel for sure.

https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2018/02/19/ea-publisher-sale-xbox-one/

It looks like there's a promotion where if you gift an EA game or DLC worth $4.49 or more, you get 1 month of EA Access. When you gift something, you can select an email address so it looks like you can just gift a game to yourself. Anyone think that's excluded? When the XBL or Game Pass quests first started, the fine print didn't specify that your subscription needed to be active by the end of the month, but that was the condition required.

This will definitely entice me to buy skate 3 if it works.

Thanks for the replies.  I ended up picking up Firewatch last night based on the recommendations here.  Will play it.... some day.

Started playing Prey this weekend, purchased last Summer.  I'm very impressed!  I really like this dev - Arkane Studios.  They make amazing single-player games with so much polish and creativity.  It's a shame Prey and Dishonored 2 sold so poorly, and I doubt Dishonored:  Death of the Outsider turned many heads...

No loot boxes, no microtransactions, no season passes.  Just amazing single-player games.

And yet they sell like crap.  It's a damn shame.  Honestly.
