Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Member that Wolfenstein 2 pack rebate? You 'member. Member?

Just got my visa prepaid rebate card in the mail.

Essentially bought Wolfenstein 2 pack and new colossus for $40 in amazon trade credit. Traded games in for about $50 and got the rebate for $10.

Thanks again gamegirlpocket.

Didn't realize I had some credit in my account, folded on broken age and picked up #killallzombies.

Imported my pinball fx3 tables to 3, trying to decide if I want to pick up walking dead and the universal pack. Wondering if I should pick up the portal table or hope for a sale to save $1.50.

Man, I missed the whole brouhaha earlier. Let me see if I can accurately sum it up, tho:

Dude: Mah sportz is da best, bro.
Bro: Psssh nah bro, my sportz totally > your sportz cause sporty reasons
Dude: YOU THINK UR SPORTZ > MY SPORTZ LOLOLOL Look how dumb this sportz bro is guyz
Bro: Only a fuck ing MORAN* would have an opinion different than mine dude
Dude: *wall of insults that are really about never getting the chance to start in high school football*
Bro: *deluge of insults that are really about being a miserable fuck*

THREEEAAAAAAD NUKED
Not even close.

Are you sure? None of the product pages indicate it is required to play other tables. Guess if I do buy the Bethesda tables and they do require it, they will have to give me a refund since it wasn't stated.
I have 66 out of 70 tables. The only tables I don’t have are the four in the core collection. You don’t need them to play other tables.

You don't need any previous tables to purchase other tables. The base download has everything you need to buy only what you want.

For my sanity I just checked my Xbox, PS4, and Switch, and none of them require the Core collection. Even Steam where I own the majority of the tables never required it. Not sure why this was suggested.

Taking a long hard look at Titanfall 2 Ultimate edition for $13.20. If I just play the SP on EA Access (when I eventually subscribe), will I be missing anything by not having the Ultimate edition?

nope. Ultimate Edition is nothing but multiplayer skins n shit. If all you care about is the campaign, don't waste your money.

Nope. The additional content is mostly cosmetic multiplayer stuff or stuff you would unlock through playing MP.

Picking up a few pinball tables. I had no idea that I already had 37 tables.

Please God, give us Mark of the Ninja Backwards compatibility soon.

I think this is great news as well.  It benefits Microsoft because a lot of people will end up overpaying (from an economic standpoint) without even realizing it.  The power of subscriptions, lol.

Assuming this year's Forza Horizon will be part of this, that's 4 new games at least (albeit State of Decay 1 was an arcade title...).

That's big. But I guess this means we won't see the year of Game Pass coming back to Microsoft Rewards.
That, and the addition of Halo Wars 2, Fable Anniversary, and Gears 4 all make a lot more sense now.

This would be a bigger announcement if they published more than 4 big games a year (ZING) but damn, this is amazing.

Going to download the demo for Mutant Football League. Does look pretty damn fun.
Do it, I've been having a blast with it. It's fun to be able to murder the other team's players. If you had any fun with NFL Blitz from back in the day then you'll have fun with this.

I thought when I bought FX2 years ago the core tables were needed so I assumed it was also required for FX3. I thought the base game were the core tables. Sorry for the incorrect information.

Yea but if you plan on buying at least 2 of them a year, it kinda pays for itself...

This will still not change my predominantly $15 or less in the backlog it goes rule because I'm a man of moral and bad choices.

Don Mattrick is off laughing somewhere. The always online Xbox one vision with no used games is right around the corner.

That's def not for me, only subscription I have us Gold membership I get on bing for Bing points.

I'll just continue to buy my games at steep discounts. This means those games should be cheap even quicker for disc copies since they just gutted Day 1 sales at retail. You won't see Microsoft Studio games in any top 10 NPD sales lists lol.

I’m with them. BUT for people that prefer digital or already are game pass joiners this is an awesome addition

Definitely adds a lot more incentive to subscribe to Game Pass, but would probably just stay with paying the $40-60 for each game.

I don't think Microsoft has ever been against Don Mattrick's plan (if it was even his plan). The whole problem with the launch of Xbox One was how they chose to present and implement it. Microsoft is doing a brilliant job by making subscription services and a digital game world look like a no-brainer instead of how they previously tried to simply ram it down everyone's throats.

Personally, I think it's a decent trade-off where both the consumer and the company can benefit. Perhaps in the long run, the consumer will suffer, but for now, it doesn't seem too bad...

Yeah, it’s good for people who are already happy with GamePass but not for me right now. I’ve had several trials of it and hardly touched the games in it. Already have Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3 preordered from the Visa checkout deals. That and GCU make them cheap enough. And can trade them in when done.

This is great for something like Sea of Thieves where I may not have purchased it until at a deep discount.  Now a cheap month of game pass lets you enjoy it while its at its peak player count.  Since games do eventually leave game pass I can see myself still buying the ones I know I will want to keep like the next gears, halo, horizon, state of decay, and Ori.

Or just pay the $10 when a game you're interested in releases to play it for a month.
I figure some people will sub year-round, others will sign up for a month to play a new game, and some will buy a game after using Game Pass to rent it (I'm currently debating buying ReCore or extending Game Pass). In terms of returns on development, it seems like launch sales matter most for games without longterm business models (micro-transactions, DLC, etc), especially in the face of used sales, so finding ways to get people to pay to play their games (whether a $60 MSRP purchase or a rental via subscription) only seems like a positive from a business standpoint.

For someone that was asking yes you can share game pass the same way you share home consoles if you have a "game share partner". I think the first 2 titles Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3 are perfect for this feature to roll out. I have questions about both games, Sea of Thieves never seemed like a $59 game to begin with and looked more like a $39 or even free to play title. I was almost certainly not going to pick it up at full price. Crackdown 3 the jury is still out but it met with so little fanfare from the press they nixed it as the only real thing launching with the Xbox One X. I'll for sure be at least playing it now, and since there is still a retail release at this time I'm not too concerned they will have a lot of stuff behind paywalls. I wonder if they'll ever get into the grey area of this is the "Game Pass Version" vs this is the retail version.

I think they're hoping that a lot of people will pay for a month of Game Pass to basically demo or rent a game, then if they like the game they'll buy the discounted digital version and it works out to about a normal $60 purchase. Then it gets more people to gain interest in Game Pass with the bonus income of all the one-off $10 rentals.

The auto-run in PUBG sucks. You can't look around while using it, only change your direction. It also activates if you're using the left peek while in first-person aiming. As is it's only useful if you had issues messing with the menu or map while running.

Does the xbox game pass work like EA Access where other accounts can use it on the home Xbox or if the primary account is signed in?
They sure do!

I didn't have the urge to get into the Sea of Thieves beta or anything so this is good news. And I like the fact GamePass offers discounts on it's games. SoD2 and Crackdown 3 are games I've been waiting for. I just hope they come out before 7/27/2018, that's when my free year of GP expires.

Very true. I rarely buy games at MSRP, but there's no denying the value. Especially if they are games you'll be done with and never touch again, vs a game like Destiny with frequent updates.
A majority of Microsoft Exclusive titles encompasses Xbox Live and multiplayer so you're not gonna hit it and quit it lol.

This new addition to Game Pass is great news. Mildly for me though as if I wanted a game day one, shit, by the time I got it finally downloaded I think it'd be half a month at least for me before I could play (Ready to Play feature doesn't quite work on a reduced LTE connections).

My data plan kicked over and just a few days ago I was able to feel great again as my speeds returned to normal. I grabbed the updates and games in my queue before I inevitably got the "you used up all your hotspot allowance" message. Sigh.

Or just pay the $10 when a game you're interested in releases to play it for a month.
I think people's will power in general isn't that strong. MS probably figures people will just keep auto renewal on or start buying the cards. Looks like six months for $60 are supposed to roll out in the future. So hope we can see deals on the cards just like xbox live.

Very ballsy move by MS. There's gonna be a huge push for DLC and microtransactions in MS games I'm assuming. MS most figure the $50 loss at first is minimal if they can get people subscribing for more then six months. Also factor in people will just buy the game discounted and cancel the pass if they want to go that route as well.

We're already there. There definitely seems to be a mandate for lootboxes for the multiplayer first-party stuff. Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, Forza 7, even Phatom Dust, these all have some form of them. They all have some sort of option for paid content, either expansions in Halo Wars 2 or Forza (I'm sure 7 will have them still just like all the older games.) Or they have some kind of cosmetic options, like Halo 5's announcer pack.

Here's how I see the analysts at MS expecting this to work. They believe that subscription services can be more profitable long term (dlc, no used games, etc). They aren't just looking at their games though. This move is going to greatly increase the number of subscribers. When Netflix was starting out, they were seen as a small disruptor. They didn't have the subscribers or cash to get the biggest movies. So, along with steady growth, they started making original content to grow the subscriber number. As those numbers grew, bigger movies jumped on. You can get Star Wars movies on there now.

MS is making a similar play, though I won't say they are exactly the same. With higher subscription numbers, they will be able to attract bigger third party games to Game Pass. I would almost guarantee we will begin seeing huge third party games added in the next year, as opposed to the leftovers that get put on there now. I bet we will even see third party exclusives that release on Game Pass. In turn, MS adds these huge third party and increases their subscribers (and revenue). It's a really brilliant move.

Yeah I know someone who spends thousands of dollars a year on micro transactions but rarely buys new games.

You factor in someone who spends over say $3,000 a year on microtransactions and that is basically 50 copies of new full priced games. They are in the minority but just one or two of those people can easily sustain the gamepass model. MS figures people will buy into the gamepass just for one game and get hooked on the model.

Also as Dark Rider says when more big third party's join in (if they don't do a EA access model of their own) this isalso gonna put the pressure on Nintendo and Sony to do a similar model (Sony has a PSNow Subscription so might not be too far off) since MS will be hammering E3 and other sites with gamepass info.

I'm going to subscribe once Crackdown drops. Not sure about before that as most of the games on the pass I already own. But once that drops I will easily subscribe.

I would think MS will get rid of the one month pass purchase and make at least three months the mandatory amount. Just to eliminate the one month, play everything and unsubscribe type. And assume auto pay/enroll will keep a good percentage of people paying even after hitting the big games people want.

Not for me at this time, only thing I'm looking forward to would be FH4, but still intriguing. Now where is the combo gamepass/live deals? I can only assume that is next.

This is great for something like Sea of Thieves where I may not have purchased it until at a deep discount. Now a cheap month of game pass lets you enjoy it while its at its peak player count. Since games do eventually leave game pass I can see myself still buying the ones I know I will want to keep like the next gears, halo, horizon, state of decay, and Ori.
same thing I was thinking. I had zero intentions on playing SoT at launch. Now? For $10 on day one? How can I say no?
