Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

So any Madden players in here? Picked it up and im having a ball with it. Anyways...got the GOAT version. Before I pick my player, any suggestions and does the contract thing make the game BS after they run out?
I'm guilty! I'm way more invested in the PS4 version I have but my son has gotten hooked on Ultimate Team on the XB1 version so I've been helping him with that. Who you pick really just comes down to personal preference and what you might focus on with your play style. There was no way he wanted Brady and so he went with Rice. When I started I went with Barry Sanders but they replaced him with Franco Harris.

The contract thing has never been an issue for me, but when I started on PS4 the version I got had a bunch of contracts to start. I've played several hundred challenges and still have around 7000 contracts so again, pretty much a non-issue.

I didn't expect to get sucked into MUT but I think it's pretty great. If the Super Bowl challenges are still out there I would try to get through them because if you do them all you can get a 95 overall of your choice between 10 Super Bowl legends.

Game Pass has a lot of easy games to complete. I enjoyed playing Bard's Gold and Tower of Guns, and accidentally ended up 100%ing them. If you double up on Telltale games on 360, those will be easy scores, too. Throw in some some indie GWGs and it might be doable. I'm thinking, map out the easy games to pad out a week / month, and then figure out what others will round it out.

I could never do something like this for so long, but it's kind of fun thinking about how you'd accomplish it.
These are great suggestions. I still have my free month of Gamepass from X1X purchase and I almost have enough ms rewards points for 3 months of Gamepass. So I will probably take advantage of that.

I'm gonna document some of this. Mixer, youtube, etc. On the whole it will probably be pretty boring. So I may need some video editing software to trim the less boring parts.

There is no amount of money worth it to me to have a 4+ hour commute every day.
A 4 hour commute is insane. I have a 40 min commute each way and I'm looking to move closer. 15 min or less is my ideal commute.
All of you are crazy. I'm a 15 minute walk to campus and the clinic I work at. More than 20 minutes driving would require a dream job and/or excellent pay.
After 2 hour commutes in Atlanta, I moved black to Greenville, SC for my 10-minute one now.
You are all correct. I switched job fields a few years back and now do the commute for the job experience. I'm now looking to leave the Los Angeles area and move closer to Cal Poly / Central California area to get out of the awful traffic that is LA.

For clarification, my Mon-Thurs work life is
Pasadena ---> Downtown LA (Metro/Light-rai)
Downtown LA ---> Irvine (Train)
Irvine ---> Office (6 mile Bike ride)

and then reversed at the end of the day.

I work on the train so I've got that going for me, which is nice. Cuts down office time to just 6 hours in. And I work remote on Friday.

But I do not wish the commute on anyone. Work close to home, guys!

My jaw literally dropped. Irvine and Pasadena is so far away, literally/geographically and after factoring in the LA traffic. I was considering moving to Irvine at one point; there are so many housing options there. I hope you find someplace you like to shorten that commute!

The office I worked in for over 10+ years closed a couple of years ago but they let most of us work from home if we didn't want to move to Ohio. The trek from my bed at 8:57 AM to log in to my computer downstairs by 9:00 AM is starting to wear on me after a few years.

Yeah, it's gnarly. Been doing since last April. It's not sustainable. Looking into alternate solutions.

Pros: the bike ride means I don't have to pull myself to the gym. And my PSP is finally getting some play use.
Cons: I goto sleep at like 9pm now and can no longer have marathon game sessions into the wee hours of the morning. Also, you drink more to relax at the end of the day.

On the topic of commutes, I've had some bad ones but now it's nothing. I currently live half a mile from work but I want a new job which will likely be further away. I used to live in the city and it would take around 2 hours one way on the T, or 30-45 minutes if I could borrow a car, didn't have one then. When I was in college it was only a 30 minute walk to campus but 4-6 buses taking at least an hour one way to meet with clients in placements.

I don't miss it but it was a good decompression after placements by just zoning out listening to music or give me time to use handhelds that I wouldn't use any other time.

Let the non-positivity ensue.
Real talk:

I had a similar situation in 2015. I had no SO, boring QA test cases at work, and most of my friends were busy starting families. I looked for purpose and ended up grinding 60k worth of achievements in around 8 months. But the games were generally boring and unenjoyable, and whatever I was hoping to get out of it never came. The void was still there, nobody I knew was impressed that a grown man was playing LEGO games for Xbox achievements. I should've spent my time on something that would produce long-term, tangible results and help me meet people and be happy. Learning a language, an instrument, a trade, improving my job skill set, going to the gym, or even starting a twitch stream or a blog about the games I was playing and creating ad revenue/fans would've helped much more than what I did.

Of course, it's up to you what you do. I personally think that you can never have enough money, especially if you need to look/feel more attractive (lasik, invisalign and gaining muscle for me). Hotties giving you PDA is a much more fulfilling achievement.

I just realized the reason they didn't put video chat with strangers in the new version of Uno. On the old version everyone had that crappy VGA vision camera and slow internet. Now everyone has the HD kinect camera and faster internet.

With Game Pass and free time between semesters, I added over 6k GS, and it was kind of fun to see how much I could get while also playing some games I'd wanted to check out (Strider being one). Now with school back in, I'm lucky if I get to play games more than once a week, but thankfully, the girlfriend enjoys games too. I really need to buy a second controller.

Any chance you have a laptop which can handle gaming? Set up some Play Anywhere titles and you could be making progress on your lunch break...

I do have cuphead on my laptop. I tried it out when I was stuck in a hotel. It's harder to use keyboard controls but I could get a controller to connect to my laptop. That would probably be the way to go if I do that.

ReCore is a chore to 100% but you can hit 700-800 pretty quickly with the additions in the definitive edition.

It sounded like the glitch issues at least are an MCC problem. I've never had a negative glitch experience in Campaign on the original 360 version, and I have about 725 hours played. I guess I could say graphics complaints are more valid, as it sounds like he was playing the Anniversary versions of 1 and 2. With originals, 3 also annihilated the first two, especially Halo 2 with it's ugly transition between the more basic designs of 1 and "HD" of 3. I think 2's update looks great, probably the best Halo has ever looked, but I have a ton of issues with 1's, as the visual changes were dramatic, with a lot of laziness here and there like using Reach assets for vehicles even though they look pretty different.
That's a really good point actually. 10 years ago the upgrade from 2 to 3 was enormous. I personally wasn't a fan of the redone graphics for 2, but they are definitely leaps and bounds ahead of where 3 was, so that's understandable. Also I didn't know what people meant by glitches at first, but then we got to 3 with our playthrough and every time one friend (with crappy internet apparently) recorded a clip or took a screen shot, the game would sputter for a few minutes, sometimes making the audio in the cut scenes mess up and look ridiculous. Game is still fun as hell though, and has the best cinematics of the series.

You bring up a very good point. Pays to do even a minimum amount of investigation before spending actual money on it. Oh well, at least it was only Bing rewards.

Unfortunately I did this research AFTER spending the 4 bucks on it. Lmao. Oh well, 4 bucks for all those extra cars isn't terrible.

So looking into this, isn't the base game free? I don't see a reason to own the 3 DLC packs. Anyone that can counter this point? As in, why pay when I could get it free...
If you want to max your Forza Rewards I think you're better off spending it. It's been awhile since I played but one of the achievements is getting platinums on certain events and it's very hard to do that unless you have the top tier cars.

I played the free one and some of the events were only available thru certain days. I thought that buying the full version opened it all up.

Well thanks for the heads up on Apex. I already have the free version and all of the other Forza games but for 4 bucks and some change I'll pick it up and boost my Forza ranking. Can't have too many green hells.

I know ASURA'S WRATH has been on sale before, but it seems like $5 is the cheapest I remember. I strongly recommend giving it a roll. Hell I liked it enough to pay full price for the dlcs. I loved the whole story and the last chapters are phenominal. Also fighting Ryu and Akuma on the moon is an awesome tribute to Street Fighter. Finally Someone as Angry as me......

Great game but just remember, the true ending is a paid DLC that isn't on sale.

All of this. My daily commute to and from work is currently about four (4+) hours a day.

Yeah I've had a 1 hour commute, which turned into 2 hours in the winter on many bad snow days, and yeah no man that's just gonna eat you up after a while. There's been plenty of data to relate employee's satisfaction in the workplace and how long your commute was and it's not pretty.

All of you are crazy. I'm a 15 minute walk to campus and the clinic I work at. More than 20 minutes driving would require a dream job and/or excellent pay.
Quite possibly I am shocked although I can't tell if you're telling a statement or a joke. You are going to have to deal with longer than that in the real world. Maybe you were joking.

I was trying to get enough credits for the Huayra, which was in the Special Dealership, but didn't get enough credits in the end. I did however unlock the 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe via getting so much XP doing the Endurance race on Nurburgring (8 laps). I guess I'll take that instead and wow that was a long race lol.

My commute is 20 minutes or so. My boss is super chill, though. I could work from home if I wanted to, but I like being in the office for a while every day. My buddy and I have our own lab/office and we come and go as we please. I get a lot of windshield time, too, with client calls - which I’m down with because I listen to music and hit all of the stores along the routes. It all comes to an end at the end of the year when the contract expires, though. I may get to do the same thing with another company or I may stay with my current company and inherit a commute from hell.

My drive to work is 7 minutes to and 5 minutes going back from work to home.

Though I work retail vs what u guys are doing.

Oh yeah work commutes. I drive 15 minutes to the train station and take the subway/train another 15 minutes. It takes less in the summer because there are no snow delays (took 2 hours once) and no university students, teachers, or buses.

I used to work 10 minutes away from home but they did pay me enough. So I found something that paid 50% more and was 100% less stressful.

Thanks! I don't think this has ever gone on sale. Probably gonna snag it for when I have a PC that can run it. The new budget laptop sorta does.

Is this play anywhere? As in this will get it on my X1 as well?
Already answered, but to expand on it, this is a separate game from the FM6 on Xbone.

So looking into this, isn't the base game free? I don't see a reason to own the 3 DLC packs. Anyone that can counter this point? As in, why pay when I could get it free...
The base game is free. Paying gets you more cars much like getting DLC car packs in the Forza games on Xbone. Will help with some achievements/Forza Rewards points.

So any Madden players in here? Picked it up and im having a ball with it. Anyways...got the GOAT version. Before I pick my player, any suggestions and does the contract thing make the game BS after they run out?
Contracts are easy enough to get in challenges and never have to spend credits on. As far as the GOAT is concerned I just got the GOAT version and traded in my disc. I went with Deion, but considered Ray Lewis. They are the most future proof players if you will. Sanders is a great returner and his CB numbers will make him usable for awhile. Ray is viable for awhile. GOATS are ironically not that big of an impact now, so late in the season, same as twitch legends (get them, too if you have twitch prime). The WRs, RBs, QBs, TEs will get passed up on your roster quickly, especially right now where you can earn Super Bowl players that are all 85-87 and a pair of 93s if you do all of the SB challenges. It lasts for a few more days. Without any baby goats to rank up your goat I think they are stuck at 85. My Deion is at 85CB/90Returner. I have enough baby goats to rank him up to 86. I didn't know how the goat system worked early on so I didn't earn very many. Also, there are some daily SB and regular daily packs in the store that refresh every day. Get those for SB player tokens and ranking up the master LT.

After 2 hour commutes in Atlanta, I moved back to Greenville, SC for my 10-minute one now.
Drove from Snellville to Midtown every day and hated it. 25 minutes if I hit all greens and it was 1am to 5am. Between 6am and 10am or 3pm to 6pm it was a minimum of an hour and more likely 1:15 to 1:30. God forbid there was any real delays. Took me two plus hours many days. The wife wanted to move back closer to family so I now have a 45 minute drive since we live a town over from my work, but it's constant moving as opposed to moving two car lengths every thirty seconds most of the drive. In a stick shift. I do miss living in an apartment six minutes from work as I once did.

As a 36-year old man, I also didn't bother with the feathers in AC2, or Benjamin Franklin's notes in AC3 or the pirate songs in AC4 or whatever there was to collect in Brotherhood, Revelations, Unity and Syndicate. Actually, the only time I've gotten ALL collectibles in a Ubisoft open-world game was with the intel and legends in Ghost Recon Wildlands. That's it.
I'm forty and in a similar situation as many others, but I think we are answering the wrong question. I think it's less about age and more about greater life responsibilities and lessening of game time. I have single friends in my age range who play a lot more and more intensive games while I my family obligations greatly affect my gameplay patterns.

Looks like Ubisoft accidentally posted that Splinter Cell Conviction is now BC.

This will be the first Splinter Cell to go BC. Hope this means Blacklist will be next. I've been waiting to play it.

We'll find out in 7 hours I guess. Unless it's going to be BC next week lol.
That's good news that's it's not completely forgotten. Man Blacklist would be so nice, but I'm not going to get excited for that and then watch it be a an un-remasteredseason pass bonus or for pre-ordering the next Splinter Cell announced at e3.

Quite possibly I am shocked although I can't tell if you're telling a statement or a joke. You are going to have to deal with longer than that in the real world. Maybe you were joking.
Nah, I've been real-worldin' it for over a decade between hospitals and non-profits before going back to school. I just really, really hate driving. Although, if I lived in NYC and most of that commute involved sitting still on a train vs operating a vehicle, I could tolerate a longer commute.

I posted somewhere else that the $9,99 price when it has gone lower in the past was to me, a hint that it MAY go BC soon. Similar to how Black Ops II never went down below $20 after BC became a thing, and when it did, it went BC that same week.

Anyways, I'd love to play the Insurgence DLC but $10 for the game plus another $10 for the add-on makes me think about it twice.
